guild wars 2 crashes
Hello dried,
Would you mind posting the crash log to this thread? You can find this by navigating to Documents\Guild Wars 2 and you will want to find the ArenaNet.log file. You can then attach it to the thread by clicking “More posting & formatting options…”
i cant find it only a local.dat file but i cant send that
Hey there,
If you don’t have a Guild Wars 2 crash log then it’s possible this is a hardware based crash (just speculation, not saying your system isn’t up to par). In order for us to dig a bit deeper here, I’d like for you to submit a Technical Support ticket so that we can gather a bit more system info from you in order to narrow down the cause. The thread below should provide you with the info you need for getting in contact with us:

I have the same issue as OP (apparently). This is new; it only started yesterday or the day before. But I already had those issues few months back in May.
I’ll attach the ArenaNet text file as requested, however, the most recent modification of the file seems to date to two days ago, so it might not be helpful in determining the issue.
Important to note is that the very same graphics crash happens even once I uninstalled the AMD drivers and tried to run the game on the integrated Intel GPU alone.
Below also is a screen of the extreme tearing immedieatly precedeing the crash.

Jamais, did you happen to crash from the Eternal Battlegrounds Jumping Puzzle?

Jamais, did you happen to crash from the Eternal Battlegrounds Jumping Puzzle?
Not in the JP, but still WvW.
I also had it in Caledon Forest and in a dungeon, it doesn’t seem to be dependent on location.
Okay, well something apparently caused your files to become corrupted (“A file was corrupted in the archive. Please run once with ‘-repair’!”).
Repairing will probably fix it, but note thakitten(this is the words “that” and “it” combined…strange vulgarity detection) might become corrupt again, as I have a belief that something within the game is causing the files to corrupt themselves. That shouldn’t be taken as absolutely true though, as I didn’t help make the game (but I have seen some games where certain actions can overwrite the game’s files into something undesirable; I get the belief from the “Missing anim or fallbacks: <something>” error, but again that’s just speculation).

I get the corrupted file crash every time I go into WvW. I can spend maybe 5 mins tops in there which makes getting the dailies difficult. It was fine yesterday and running with -repair doesn’t solve the issue.
Happened to me many times several months ago. You might want to talk to support with this.

Having the same problem. Game was running fine then next minute I get the GW2.exe file has had an error and needs to close. Restart the game and before I even load back into the map I get it again. Now it’s happening constantly. Tried turning graphics down to low and I could get loaded in and play a little only to get the error again and again. Have tried repairing the file to no avail. It just ups and crashes without anything really going on. I could be way pointing, running, attacking, or just standing still and I get the crash.
Whatever has happened it is on Anet’s end. Haven’t changed anything on my end and have been running a very stable GW2’s until tonight.
I’ve started to get crashes too lately. It’s always during a world boss or invasion.
Strange thing is that when invasion patch came, I did not have any crashes, I could do 10 invasions in a row without problems. I have not changed anything in my system and have not noticed any problems anywhere else.
You´re not alone.
Have had these crashes for about a year now.
They seem totally random, can happen at any location at any time (as far as I can tell). Never happened in WvW, but maybe that´s because Ive only spent an hour or so there.
The wierd thing is, sometimes it
1) crashes with GW2.exe has [..], and then I can restart the game fine and keep playing for hours.
2) crashes with GW2.exe has [..], and everytime a start the client again (ie get to character select or loading map) and the only solution is to restart the PC and/or repair client (restart is often much, much faster).
3) with GW2.exe has [..], and I can login again but everytime I open the map it crashes again (this havent happened the last month though, sneaky fix?)
As someone said it seems like the game somehow makes its own files corrupt at some point.

I agree, this sounds like what happens to me, although I need to add that if it crashes, I can log back on and as long as I dont play the character that the initial crash occured on, I can play for hours, until that character crashes, and so on. Also, running repair is a joke and a waste of time, the more I run repair the more frequent these crashes occur. after 4 crashes I usually uninstall/reinstall. I switched from my ssd to my hdd to see if I’d have better luck, but in the end they were about the same so one my latest reinstall I put it back on the ssd (loading screens are insanely long on a hdd) -I can go for about 3 days of problem free play time after each reinstall, then the crashes start happening again. Arena net, I will pay someone (cash money irl) to fix this problem, email me and lets make some arrangements under the table, whatever. I have been reading these responses from this problem for a while now, and its always put back on the users hardware…every other game (I have a ton of games on this rig) runs perfectly. only gw2 gives me problems. These posts always feel like farting in the wind
Fix your kittening game Anet. I am getting these error messages a lot. Prior to the Teq patch, I never saw them.
