Seems we wont get any official response on this …. Gw 2 should get the tittle of the worst optimized mmo ever. Ps. I borrowed my friend 670 evega ftw for tests and it dosent have thoes lines, problems with shadows,flickering etc… NEVER EVER buy amd cards for gamining rings;/

Anyone found a solution yet ? My friend just bought 7870 tahiti le from sapphire and had no such issues but on the other hand my uncle have thoes lines with his 7970.

I bought a Gigabyte windforce 7950 graphics card last month and I am having the exact same issues. Random screen flashing and the lines are very noticeable in the bank area of Rata Sum.

Try 13.2 or 13.3 drivers if your not using them yet. They helped with flickering but the lines (this is a light problem cuz you can see thoes on char as well) are still prsent in any closed areas like caves,ascalon catas etc..

I had something similiar, in minecraft though so don’t take my word for it.

However, nvidia cards have that control panel, it lets you adjust the 3d image thingy, try dragging the slider to something else than “performance”.

Haven’t tried, might work.

Well i tried every possible setting including messing with radeon pro and nothing helped. I dont think the card is broken either as the only game that have such problems is gw2.

New drivers from amd and still the problem stays . . .i doubt that it will ever get fixed. Seems nobody from amd cares neither do gw2 team.

yeah, this issue needs to be brought to light, even more than it has been it would seem.

Heya i got this …. lines too

1. you can find these lines in rata-sum
2. no older graphics driver does anything to these lines
3. no graphics option does anything (neither ingame nor the catalyst driver stuff)
4. antialiasing makes these lines smoother
5. the line got corresponding lines in the sky
6. if i am running over these lines, the lines are over my character

ill add my dxdiag too, would be nice to get an official answer to that lines, i mean the thread was created 7 month ago and there is sillt no answer/ solution to this?

Good news everyone! 13.4 WHQL drivers fixed the issue for me and my 7950. I installed the 13.5 beta at first, but that didn’t help. Decided to try 13.4 and voilà! The lines seem to be gone for good! Finally!

One thing of note is that I used AMD’s driver uninstall utility before installing 13.4. Give it a shot and see if that fixes it!

I can confirm that the 13.4 drivers fixed this for me on my 7950 as well. They also thankfully didn’t carry over the screenshot crashing bug from the 13.3 beta drivers. Makes me feel like my bug reporting actually mattered.

Weirdly I can see all the seams where the textures tile really easily now (in Rata Sum), but I think that’s just how the graphics are, and I only notice it because that’s what the funky shadow lines used to show up along.

Soooo seems like these should be the best drivers yet for AMD users.

Yayy 13.4 fixed these lines for me too where 13.5 beta doesnt do the job.
Hopefully they know what they had changed cause in these beta drivers the bug appears again

13.4 still didn´t fix anything for me(HD7750). And yes, I uninstalled old drivers.
Not trying AMD´s new uninstall tool, as it´s for Win7 only and I have WinXP(though not for long anymore).

BTW Wedge, if you still see seams then the bug hasn´t gone for you either. You just found a new version.
Rata Sum screenshots from GForce cards show perfectly even looking textures, no discernible tiles whatsoever. I´m really getting fed up with AMD´s crap.

Hm i tried a place in rata-sum and it seems the lines are gone, maybe we should take a easy to reach place and take some screenshots. Where did you search for these lines?

Well, I “upgraded” my System from AMD to Intel and did a fresh install of Win7.
Very happy with it as the FPS has improved greatly and the Win7 WHQL13.4 drivers seem to work better too.
The annoying lines are finally gone.
