Q:
Can one of these computers run GW2 Highest
The two laptop link both use integrated video HD4000, they would work but not great you will be playing at low settings.
The desktop link is better, with a decent videocard, probably medium settings, but if you are going desktop route there are better ones out there for that price. Even better yet build one yourself if you have the aptitude

These two laptops are the same price as the desktop, it’s not quite as strong as that desktop, but noticeably stronger then the laptops you have:
If you want a laptop over a desktop and want something stronger then the desktop you listed, here is what I think is the best deal in laptops performance wise (someone show me a better deal):
http://store.acer.com/store/acerna/en_US/pd/productID.259012300
I don’t think building yourself is cheaper, esp if you want a leigt copy of an o/s.

Okay that is really awesome. Could it run Guild Wars 2 highest or am i dreaming of paying under 850 for one that would do so? Thank you so much for your help!

If you get in on the black friday deals etc its much cheaper than prebuilt systems. Plus you get to pick quality parts tailored for gaming. Even windows 8 is heavily discounted.
This is what I built over this week.
180 -CPU/Mobo- Intel i5-3570k & MSI Z77A-G43 combo at frys
90 -PSU- Seasonic X650 at newegg
70 -CASE- Antec P280 at newegg
40 -RAM- 16GB (2×8) G.skill 1866 ram at newegg
25 -Cooler- Hyper212 Evo overclock cooling at newegg
60 -HD- Kingston Hyperx 120GB at newegg
00 -Input- Already have Logitech keyboard/mouse
00 -Monitor- Already have dual 20" Dell LCD
00 -GPU- Already have GTX 660
00 -OS- Already have.

$465
A 300-400 budget build is possible too.
However if you must go laptop there are lots to pick from. There were better deals during blackfriday, but here is a current example:
On sale atm for $550
Newegg – Lenovo IdeaPad G780 (59347664) Notebook Intel Core i5 3210M(2.50GHz) 17.3" 4GB Memory 500GB HDD DVD±R/RW NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M
This should play decent with medium settings, but if you want maxed settings you probably be going over the 1k-2k price points.

Finlock: I am thinking pretty confidently it will, I have various systems I’ve tried GW2 on so I have a decent feel for it. I just ordered the bottom one I have listed (acer), ships ground… I’ll know for certain in a few days, if you would like to wait. I have no idea how long the sale is on though. Last night I had two other laptops inline, both dropped their sale price today. Then I found this gem, which overall was better then last nights that I had picked out.
But the Acer’s i7 CPU is as strong as a desktop intel 3570 and that is nothing to sneeze at. The GPU (which isn’t the issue with GW2) is a little weaker then that 7750 or nvidia equivalent 550ti you listed on your desktop. For a laptop, though it’s respectable.
With all my testing with GW2, it has been consistent. CPU, CPU, CPU. This laptop has the CPU for high.

I don’t think any of those systems are going to run WvWvW at acceptable frame rates the fx 4100 is a horrible gaming cpu If your going with a desktop then get a intel 2500k or better.
The older generation phenom 2s are better then that fx series cpu.
If you must go AMD atleast get one of the newer piledriver series cpus.

I think you have $400 not listed that many won’t have. The GPU and O/S. I agree input devices and monitor most have those to carry over.
More importantly…. Is that Fry’s deal still on and if so would you please link! I have to order a new combo and that is amazingly priced.
UPDATE: I called Fry’s those are sold out.

Okay I shall await your response on the laptops ability. Will you post on here? @horrorscope
Also I do not feel comfortable building a computer just yet. I would really want a laptop because I’m going to college soon and would prefer to have a semi decent laptop for that too.

Yep I’ll come back right here, I can also PM you. Figure it ships Thurs ground, not sure where from yet. Most likely early-mid next week. Same for my son, dual purpose laptop w/college.
That frys deal online died fast, but at physical B&M stores they might have it. Tigerdirect and Microcenter might have simliar combos.
Win8 can get purchased for 15-40 bucks with the current promo, hehe MSFT want people to try their new look so bad. Too lazy to list deals on GPU/LCD but they can be cheap too. Even if you add those, a comparable prebuilt machine will cost more. But the biggest reason to build your self is choices and custom tailoring.

I called, any Fry’s in my area (B&M) sold out. Norcal.
No argument on getting the exact parts you want on building your own, I just haven’t found it cheaper anymore.
Keep your eyes open, I’m sure frys or microcenter in Socal will have another bundled combo. Remember they will pricematch each other. Holiday sales not over yet.
Yea, if its a cheaper low end desktop for someone like my parents or something I would go prebuilt route. Their profit margins on those machines are razor thin.
But for gaming or high end machines i still think custom is more cost effective. My custom machine is gonna be hackintosh too, so no more feeding apple premiums =]

^ The problem with Microcenter is everything I want says “In store pickup only”, they have a great deal on a 3570K… “In store pickup only”. Boo.

The Acer Laptop is going to do it. However it’s back to $900, I got it for $700 mid-last week.
i7 3632QM:
Nvidia GT 640M
It’s about 5-10 FPS slower then my:
i7 3820
Nvidia 660TI
Max Settings 1600×900
It is doing 40-70 FPS Running around the open world fighting.
Haven’t tried WvWvW, but it plays very similar to my one Desktop and is outperforming 2 other desktops I have Q8300/460 and a Dual6850/460. The 8300 Quad I can still run max but it’s more like 30-60 and the Dual is like 20-50 a little under max settings.
It passes my test! On the older ASUS gaming laptop (i7 740QM, Radeon 5870) I was getting 20-50 on a little under full settings. The thing is ASUS laptop the VC ran 20+ more Celsius.
