CoherentUI_Host.exe + Crashing
Lacy Hiteshue said,
“1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder, which by default should be C:\Program Files(x86)\Guild Wars 2.
2. Move this folder to a new location like C:\Games\Guild Wars 2 . . .”
Little problem — I keep getting the message "Windows Cannot find ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\GuildWars2\GW2.exe’ ".
I’ve tried to uninstall and re-install the game. First, the game refuses to un-install. Plus, when I try to install the game, I keep getting the same message. So, since I cannot find or load this file, I cannot follow your instructions.
I tried to log in about 4 hours ago, and all seemed to be going well until that message popped up. Now I cannot get it to load at all. What happened to that file during the first download, and how can I get it back?
Alisa
Yeah. I’m getting the CoherentUI has stopped responding thing. I had my Task Manager up and noticed that two instances of CoherentUI.exe popped up, so not sure if that’s what’s causing it. I already tried disabling my Firewall, tried moving the folder, tried running everything as administrator.
Not quite sure what could be causing issues with it.
Calvinthesneak.5839, Do you think you could help me to fix it for me to ??
I want to play
It’s not fixed, I’m simply not loading the trading post. It’s a work around, the shortcut everyone has listed.
What do i need to do ?
Did you had the error message, or its only your TP who cant work

We still haven’t figured out the problem. We are doing two things now: we are adding logging so that if Coherent crashes you can send us a crash.dmp file (if you’re willing) so we can see what’s going on; and we’ve asked for help from the people that make Coherent. The logging will come out in the next hotfix. We’ll post the latest executable at GuildWars2.com in case -nopatchui isn’t working for you so the logging will occur when you next try to patch.
great tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and now it wont even install into my computer
When i go into Properties, Target and type “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -nopatchui, im able to lauch the game but im loading on a black screen for ever.

Yeah, don’t bother with the uninstall / reinstall thing. That’s not related to the problem. For some reason the Coherent system doesn’t start up on some machines. You should be able to reinstall with the -nopatchui trick documented earlier in the thread, but you won’t get any feedback that the patch is happening until it completes.

I’ll help however possible. As I said, if it’ll help to have remote access to an affected machine, email me or otherwise contact me and you can comb through mine.

Calvinthesneak.5839 – thanks. I’ve passed on your name and we’ll try to contact you tomorrow.
Is there an explanation as to why re-installing the game doesn’t work? is it something on our OS?
Um, lol. My PC screen started flashing and making beeping sounds and at the top for a second it showed “Coherent UI”.
I just started updates on my PC for “Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 – AMD Radeon HD 7570”
When I open my task manager I do not see the Coherent UI running though. I don’t even know what’s going on anymore. :’)
Did you check processes. It doesn’t have a window per se so you won’t see it under applications.

Yes, Processes is the default tab it opens under. I’ve checked both Processes and Details tab over and over and I cannot see it running.
this was a pretty easy trouble shoot. pay attention to the people saying they have 2 or more computers but only 1 works…….. then when they run off a tether connection it works. simple fix that worked for me was bounce my dhcp IP. the second i bounced it i was able to watch the files download. it seems that gw2 isn’t responding to your current ip addresses. once you bounce it it works fine. anyway like i said worked for me.
Well…I tried it on both my PCs and neither of them worked. Though, they’re fairly identical since they’re both brand new.

I haven’t even downloaded the patch yet and I get this message. I am denied permissions into the Guild wars 2 file. I can’t move it, repair it, uninstall it. I can’t get to the launcher. It gives me a crash error before anything even happens. So frustrated right now.

that’s everything I have running on my PC at this moment after rebooting and trying to open the client.
In the other thread someone discovered that disabling auto proxy detect solved the CoherentUI crash issue.
Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings
Make sure “Automatically detect settings” is UNchecked
This has solved the issue for several of us on both Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.

woah. this worked.
df;ljgldfkjgdlfkg omg! LOL T_T ALL DAY!!!!!!!!! now i have to stay up all night playing gw2. thank you for sharing. >_>
This seemed to work on Windows 8.1 (latest updates): disabling “Automatically detect settings” in the Network > Proxy control panel.
Not sure if this was just coincidence, or something else was fixed. Perhaps the new launcher is more sensitive to network issues / crappy proxy detection? I had previously tried basically everything everybody else had in this thread (repair, run as admin, disable firewall/av, uninstall/attempt to reinstall).
It’s a simple setting to test out, so it might be worth a shot.
YMMV.
This is working for me as well, I’m on windows 7.

Unfortunately this didn’t work for me.
Mine is 8.1 and that worked. hallelujah!!
Worked for me, reinstalling now!

RouterGeeks.6320 – interesting – we’ll forward that to the Coherent folks. Interestingly, the old delay in opening Awesomium for the trading post was waiting for a proxy connection to time out. Hmm. Coherent fixes that but maybe there is a side effect on some machines.
Man I Hope they fix this I hate the fact that I can’t use the Black Lion Trading Post
I tried all of the mentioned solutions, uninstalled to reinstall…. frozen.
Does anyone Know Why mine keeps telling me Net Err Network Access Denied When I try to use the Black Lion Trading post? everything works fine outside of that its not lagging or crashing.
I’ve been able to play now with the solution posted a page ago ( Create a shortcut, and put the -email <mailinfo> -password <PassInfo> -nopatchui
I’ve been running with spotflux on, and if I turn it off, it just shows me a black screen (Like for some ppl).
But still, Trading Post is not openable, and I hate run spotflux. Also waiting for a fix here.

Okay….this is getting to be bullkitten. I am not computer saavy, so to ask me to move files here and there is a toddler behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler. I am a gamer, I love to play pc games and own quite a few. All I would like is for someone to fix something that wasnt broke in the first place so that I may go on playing my game that my wife and I enjoy doing together. I have tried all these so called fixes that have been posted, to no avail. Meanwhile, my wife who lives in the same house, is able to play the game. It is almost 24hrs since I have been able to play and have not received any answers as to WTF is going on. In your attempts to improve the game experience has turned it into a nightmare…..“dont fix it if it aint broke”….they say this for a reason folks. Now can we please get off our kitten and get this resolved.
the -email,-password, -nopatchui gets me into game cannot of course use the trading post but I am in after adding those options to my target.
Disable Automatic Setting for your internet connection works only IF you remove the “-email mymail@excample.net -password secretPassword -nopatchui” from the target of your shortcut to your game.
I have moved files….created a separate shortcut….i dont really understand why i was asked to do theses things but i am afraid that my pc is a mess with all the bs i have been asked to do. Bottom line ….its pretty obivous the patch is what kittened everything up….so the so-called dev’s…hit the kitten reset button and let us play while you guys work the kittening thing out man. Sorry….getting pretty frustrated
the other thing is ….i have noticed that these fixes that have been posted are pertaining to windows 7 or 8….i have vista. Is this a problem as well?
Have also checked my internet options and did what was posted as far as ensuring the auto detect settings is not checked. Still nothing

Well this worked for me and I can use the tp/gem store now, but it raises the question – why would such a thing cause a problem like this? and is this option something that I might actually want to have on, or do I not need to worry about it?
