Error:(code=7:11:3:189:101)
happening here also. game ran perfect up until the lost shores update. now it crashes to character select screen at least a few times an hour – and almost always at the worst possible time. its very frustrating.
I been getting that two I am on a Windows 7 computer before it happens the game get very slow and then I get it or sometimes the game will be slow and I think I am going to get it.
Hey guys,
i got exact same Problems – mostly in dungeon “fractals”.
i wrote to Support – gameadviser log – hijack log – and after all they said hey your Windows 8 isnt supported yet … well happens on my Laptop with win 7 too
no word about it happens only last 1,5 weeks and it was good with Windows 8 before… or there a plenty of ppl in Forum got that issue – no ist always fault of user
i wonder we ever get a solution for this problem
If you’ve downloaded anything with torrents recently and then tried to play you will get this error (from your ISP throttling or some AN error) and the only way to make it go away is to shut down your computer for about a half hour till your IP refreshes.
Hey guys – Error 7 can often pop up for a number of reasons. Unfortunately there isn’t a set “fix” that will resolve it every time and so usually there is a bit of troubleshooting involved. For any of you experiencing this issue, specifically when you are trying to log in, I’d like to have you guys try two things: Winsock reset followed by a DNS flush.
Let’s start with the Winsock reset. To do this, please follow the steps below:
1. Click the “Start” button to bring up the Start Menu.
2. Type in CMD into the “Search programs and files” field but do not hit enter. Doing this will change your start menu to show the program “cmd.exe.”
3. Right-click on “cmd.exe” and select “Run as Administrator.”
4. Type “netsh winsock show catalog >C:\LSP.txt” without the quotes. This will save a file to the root of your C drive called LSP.txt. You don’t need to do anything with this – this is more of a confirmation that these steps were done correctly.
5. Once complete, type “netsh winsock reset” without the quotes. When the command is completed successfully, a confirmation appears, followed by a new command prompt line.
Next, please try clearing your DNS cache. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the R key. This should bring up the “Run” dialogue box.
2. In that box, type “cmd” without the quotes, and click the “OK” button. A DOS window should open.
3. Enter the following command below and press enter: ipconfig /flushdns
This should clear your DNS cache. You may need to perform this command a few times.
Ashley i am sorry but this has nothing to do locally.
my mother has this problem and when i try to login from my PC (She is in Greece, i am in Cyprus), i get the same error….
So it’s from your end.
Resolve it.

Seriously. I sent a ticket with game advisor reports and the gw2 file as well. I was told to update my graphics drivers and to pay 25.00 for a ping test to prove that its MY isp.
There is no way all of us started having bad ISPs at the exact same time after the patch release.
I am also dealing with this problem. I have already tried most of the posted methods and i still ge the same code 7 crash. Is there an actual way to fix this?
@Ashley
Although I appreciate you answer, you have to be honest about this problem.
We are players from all over the world, different countries and cities,
but still we have the exact same problem, which is that your (ncsoft) server is disconnecting us from the game for unknown reason.
I also have to mention that Guild Wars 2 is the only game that exhibits this problem. Other software that I use functions properly, without any disconnects.
This can happen 5 times in 5 minutes or days can pass without disconnect.
All we ask is that you look at your servers and try to figure out what is happening,
just don’t try to blame it on us or our ISP, since we did everything on our side that was suggested in regard to this problem.
Best regards
Hi guys – I can certainly understand your frustration but as this is Technical Support we need to be able to eliminate any possible variables that could be causing this issue. As there are no known issues with the servers at this time, we first need to look at any possible system or connection related issues and gather diagnostic information. With this particular type of issue, I would prefer players to send in a support ticket to our Technical Support team so that we can gather as much information as possible. If there does appear to be an issue on our end, we can then forward this information to our Network Engineers for further investigation.
As this particular error message can be caused from a number of different things, simply going off of players reporting this error without any diagnostic information is not enough for a thorough investigation. I can definitely see that a number of players are experiencing this problem, but if it were a more widespread issue the forums would be blowing up with reports of this error and the cause would be more apparent.
Again, I would highly recommend contacting the NCSOFT Technical Support department for further assistance as this will allow us to much more quickly assist you one on one, and assist us with looking into this issue a little more closely.
I don’t see how the forums would blow since players have tendency to take the easy way out, close the client and go for a walk or watch TV, maybe even have some dinner
Joke aside, if there is any diagnostic utility or gw2 client command we can use, apart form contacting ncsoft tech support, to provide more information about this issue please tell us.
When you contact Technical Support you will probably be asked for a few diagnostic reports: Game Advisor report (NCSOFT in house tool, basically a glorified DxDiag), Network Diagnostic report (ports and traceroutes are shown more accurately here than in the Game Advisor report), and a PingPlotter report (third-party application that cannot be attached in the forums but illustrates latency, packetloss, and ping very nicely).
These reports will show us not only any issues on your end with your connection (if existent) but on our end as well.
EDIT: To clarify, we do NOT want players paying for PingPlotter. There is the “Standard” version that is free that we ask players to run.

I too am getting this error d/c code all of a sudden. I live in TX, was doing Claw of Jormag DE and was D/C’ed about 30 times during the meta event (luckily i still got the end chest!). now all I can do is log onto a character, zone on to a map and with in 1 min I’m immediately disconnected again. Time for a fix Anet
Ashley, first of all thanks for replying to this thread.
Second, I’ve been playing gw2 for about 2 months now and I never got this error before 5 minutes after the Monday night update. There is someone in-game who says that he was working with ’’arenanet’’ to fix this error and that it had to do with wifi connections.
Now, I don’t know what you did. But 5 minutes after the update, I wasn’t able to do AC anymore because after the spider boss everything was stuck. Huge lag and it was impossible to play. Same thing today, I couldn’t do AC and stupidly I teleported to orr to farm some events. Now I can’t get out of there because when I try to teleport, after 5 minutes of loading screen I get this famous error 7.×.×.x.×. I can’t even farm events because nothing is moving around me.
I don’t want to offend but this sucks and I can’t play until you guys fix this.
Oh, and btw please don’t tell me to pay $25 to make a ping test or whatever because if you do, I’ll just go back to wow where strangely I never had this kind of problem in 6 years.
Both my wife’s account and my account are getting error 7:11:3:189:101. We both have our own computers, and have tried troubleshooting using the above DNS cache clear, turning off our anti-virus and Firewalls, and a few other tips I’ve picked up through the years. I’ve checked with my ISP provider and they assure me that everything is fine on their end.
We started noticing this issue late last week, but today is the first time that we are unable to play as we are getting booted within 2 minutes of logging in.
this problem never sold i did all the troubleshooting for this issue and still disconnected and cant play but i can log in, sometimes it works and sometimes not how come this problem still same but the other online games dont have problem… it waste my money… ashley pls msg me for anything that can do with this.. thank you!!
Bumping this because it’s been happening to me for days. Never had a problem before. Hope that adds to the discussion.
Just got the game three days ago as a gift… I get the same problem as everyone…
Ashley just one question please. You think this issues gonna end soon or ? Cuz me and my friends are seriously thinking to quit this game.We quit wow to start GW2 and now we can’t have 5 min fun No offense but try put yourself in our position..
I know it is not big deal if few people stop playing this game but i think we deserve some answers. (Btw. we did try everything)
Thanks for time.
Cheers!
There are a number of faulty Nodes providing bad routing information at this time which would be why there are connection issues and excessive latency.
Could this error be account related? I’ve this type of disconnect “almost everytime” I encounter new “thing” in game. New point of interest, new event or personal quest (that is really a piece of horror, indeed – 4-5 attempts to complete each personal quest).
If my friend logs on my computer, everything is ok, he isn’t getting disconnect at all.
Just a hint. This game is really getting unplayable… with this kind of error.
I was playing the game flawlessly from when I bought it around Black Friday until now… I did not change anything but I noticed it wasn’t doing this until the most recent patch…
I think it is something that is up to A-Net to fix. I’m out of options here and ideas. I didn’t change a thing with my network but all of the sudden I suffer this error code and can’t play anymore.
Same problem been happening since Halloween event though
I obtained the game yesterday and I am having the same issue as well. I kept getting kicked during the Norn starting zone boss, however after one attempt I was able to complete it and a few other quests in the Norn area, but then was kicked again. I appreciate your help Ashley, and this is just giving you more data. Server is Fort Aspenwood. I am trying your diagnostic and will see if that helps. If not… hey that is more data for you.
im getting 7:11:3:189:101 also… any devs know what we shoud do?
I’ve been getting this same error all day since wintersday event hit. Unfortunately, I cannot be sure it is not my ISP since I just moved to my family for the holidays and am using their ISP. I’ve never seen this error before today with my normal ISP, but I am now being kicked every 5-15 minutes. My friends using the same router haven’t had any trouble though. I hope this helps diagnose the problems, I just tried the winsock and cleared DNS cache, i’ll report back if I see any results.
EDIT: Got this error again after ~15 mins

@Anet: it’s easy to blame the end-user for these errors but when they start to appear simultaneously after a patch there’s definitely something wrong on your side too. As of Wintersday patch this error has started to show for me and I never had this before not even once. It’s hard to believe my ISP or local settings were suddenly affected by a game patch.
Can anyone actually verify that any of the recommended fixes have worked? I’ve tried it all and am still experiencing this problem sporadically. Sometimes every 5-10 minutes, yesterday I went like 6 hours. Why should we collectively be going to NCSoft when you should have the fast track?!? There are posts far and wide on the net about this with no one getting positive results.
I’ve been having this issue since I installed the game 2 weeks ago. To be honest it’s getting a little frustrating to play this game when I can’t even stay logged in for more than five minutes. I’ve done all of the requested fixes on my end and still nothing. I’m seriously regretting purchasing this game…
The recommended fixes have worked for me, but now they seemed to have moved on to my husband’s computer. He’s done everything identical to me and it still won’t work for him.
And again as I’ve said before, these recommended fixes such as disabling startup processes and firewalls… should only be temporary. I’ve been playing since early September and this has never happened before. Not until the post-Wintersday patch. :\
Same for myself. I have grinded day in and day out playing at least 6+ hours a day (don’t judge me!) with no problem whatsoever.
Yesterday, i received the error message and can play for no longer than 30 seconds.
Another thing, i play on Kaening Server (I’m positive i spelled that wrong)
I don’t know if what server we are all on has anything to do with it, but i thought i would put it out there.
Please fix soon, nothing is worse than getting addicted to a game and not being able to play it!
Yeah Ive been having this issue all day. Spent hours on the forums to find a fix. But all I can find is how terrible GW2 Support is.
“.I can definitely see that a number of players are experiencing this problem, but if it were a more widespread issue the forums would be blowing up with reports of this error and the cause would be more apparent.”
^ Lololol
People paid $60 for a broken game and to have the support forum do nothing but direct them to technical support and then technical support says idk go contact your ISP.
There are mutiple issues on this forum not only including this one that is going unanswered. i.e ( the hard-shutdowns upon starting the game ) etc.. I experienced it first hand and instead of getting the solution from you guys I had to figure it out on my own and DO YOUR JOB and spread the fix, cause im a nice guy.
I’ve never seen such unprofessional work ethic.

Ive had this problem for a while. But instead of QQing to you guys, I at least try to fix the problem on my own before asking for help on the forums. But its kinda hard to try to find a fix when all you guys do is spew out BS such as
“As this particular error message can be caused from a number of different things, simply going off of players reporting this error without any diagnostic information is not enough for a thorough investigation.”
There is a plethora of threads on this particular forum with thousands of replies containing diagnostics for this PARTICULAR ISSUE thats has been ranging from 3 months ago to 2 hours ago.
So dont spoon feed me your BS excuse because youre too lazy to do your job.
Oh and on another note, ive been looking for a second job anyways. It seems like I can do just as much as Ashley Segovia or more.
Whatever. All in all I have this issue too and cant find a fix after trying everything suggested on the forums and everything to my own knowledge, but what good does it do me to ask you guys for help rofl.

Totally agree with you, when will they realize that the problem is on their side?
Guild : [HB] (www.hb-eu.com)
Okay so i bought this game a week ago and luckily i have been able to play like 3 hours…. i dont understand why im getting this error, when i can play other games fine! Its really frustrating to pay 60 buks to play with your freinds from 0 and they are 20 levels ahead… Please solve this! or contact me with a solution asap…. (BTW i have tried everything said on this tread)
I seem to be having this problem as well… attempted all said technical advice stated by Technical Support, to no avail.
My only other option is to call tech support.
I haven’t even had a chance to play it once since I bought the game several days ago. Not good.
im having this same error, i cant play the game
This lag is on A-net sside not ours.It all started for most people after the Wintersday patch.
Same problem here, for the last 2 days had frequent disconnects to the point that the game is unplayable at the moment. Tought that with this new build things had to get better, but just experienced my first disconnect. Tried all the instructions and nothing seems to be working, and it definitely is only happening with guild wars as i can access all other internet sites with regular speed, only having problems with guild wars game client and forums.
Just back to the game again, to try to play, but it is impossible due to Arenanets inability to provide any useful level of quality. The game is beautiful and fun, but it doesn’t really help since Arenanet are so frustratingly bad at running computer systems.

Dude you should totally go for a refund so I don’t have to watch you kitten in every topic no longer, your name shows up in every topic I read. Which reminds me why I never read anything on here anyways.
Add me to the list, game is unplayable since January 6th due to frequent timeouts and disconnects. Attempted all fixes outlined in this thread and several others.
…great…having this same issue and was looking for a quick fix. Doesn’t look like ANet has one. I am also having issues getting the forum pages to load. My connection is flawless and fast (40Mb/4Mb) and I don’t have any issues with any other MMO’s, online games, streaming HD video..etc..etc…
Fix It Plz
This is an MMO, if my friends and I can’t play together here we will go elsewhere.
Hundreds of players are getting this, this is clearly not client-side.
For me it has begun ever since Lost Shores patch, still getting at least 5 of this error per day and severe network lag every 10 minutes.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Network-Lag-Merged/first
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/error-code-7-11-3-189-101/first
I think the first two threads went on for so long without an answer that players just gave up on posting in them. I wonder how many pages this thread will make it to!
So how much more do the forums have to blow up on this issue?
This is weird, I’ve never gotten this problem/error before, just started recently (sometime around the end of December). There are periods where I’m ok, other times I can connect for maybe 5 mins and then get the same error. (I try to connect at least 8-10 times in an hr and get disconnected each time) Still have internet access even though it says I “disconnected”. Trying to deal with it but very frustrating, especially in WvW when I’m in combat and I get disconnected.. so I get broken armor……
For what it’s worth I am back to normal today. No skipping, delays or disconnects after an hour or so.
No changes on my end, of course.
If it was an internet routing issue, whatever it was has been fixed for me.
For now.
Bump. Sick of this bloody error still getting error code 7 whilst playing gw2. Nothing wrong with my connections its anet side. TBH i going to keep bumping this topic until something is sorted out.
As I feared, I spoke too soon: tonight the lag and dropping was back with a vengeance.
I was ok for most of the day, then around 8pm EST, stuttering, delays on vendors and battle lag took over.
