There is no download cap, sorry to tell you. More than likely your ISP’s poor routing to the server location.

Try that download link for the game files to at least get yourself set up with the needed files.

Just keep in mind I uploaded that about a month ago, so there is about 400MB of updates you will have to do. But at the very least, my file server is uncapped on a 100Mbit switch, so you can download the game via my server via the link I provided in the thread I posted above. I’ve verified 11MB/s downloads and uploads to the site via separate 100Mbit fiber and 1Gbit fiber connections, so feel free to download the game via my link. It also solved the issue for someone else who was unable to even download the game at all to get him up and playing.

As for the link I posted for download, I verify that I am the owner of the server hosted over at HostGator’s facilities.

Just so you know, the client is fine, I can download at 8MB/s – 11MB/s as I am right now

The update speeds do vary quite a bit, but I have no problem getting 3.5 Megabytes+/sec.

OPs ISP is likely throttling the connection. Not Anet’s fault.

Neither the port being used nor you DNS would have squat to do with download speed….

I’m with talktalk I’m getting 18mb no drop connection near the green box 0.5mil.
If you want you can use a free VPN also does the job.

Why would ISP’s throttle connections to Arena Net but not Steam and Battle Net? I’m getting a slow download speed right now, but I can get fast download speeds from more popular services. It doesn’t really make sense.

maybe you have blocked ports for Arena Net?

I already said what the issue was, it’s more than likely a poor routing issue.

I messed up, there was something wrong with my internet provider that day, the next day it downloaded great with 3MB/s. Thanks for the replies though!
