I’m running at 14-18 fps on all resoultions and settings. Changing does not help me.

I can run world of Warcraft in all area’s with a stable 60 fps even when thier is 20 a side versing each other.

• Where are you measuring FPS?
• What video driver version?
• Look at Part 4 here for more troubleshooting tips

I have checked my cpu and gpu temps they are below 60c
In all area’s from the start, PVP, WvW. My cpu and gpu dont bottle neck i have tried other games before and yesterday to make sure.

Download GPUz check the PCI-e is running at x16, this is the most common issue.

I checked my hardware information with this when my PC Was upgraded from ATI 6670 all driver’s were deleted.

Actually as suspected the PCI is not working properlly, it says 2.0 x16 @ x16 1.1 that means, the PCI port is running as a PCI-e 1.1 instead a PCI-e 2.0 this significantly reduces the interface bandwith and is the reasson u have low FPS.
Open the case, remove the videocard, clean the port from dust(use some kind of air blower), install the videocard back again, check all the cables are properlly plugged in.
GPUz should say PCI-e 2.0 x16@x16 2.0. untill u don’t get that reading there is something wrong and GW2 FPS will be very low.
Btw what kind of power supply do u have? brand/model?

Ok cleaned PCI x16 lanes out and all others.
When starting GPU Z up it reports I have Graphics card in a 2.0 x16 @ x16 2.0 for over 2 minutes and then goes to 2.0 x16 @ x16 1.1
I have cleaned this it 3 times up to now today to try but no luck

Go power options in control panel and select the high performance profile. Go to BIOS and disable Asus EPU power optimations along with any other power saving options.

Did u deleted all AMD drivers before installing Nvidia? u must use a program called driver sweeper http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweeper.html u can download it there. First of all try delete every single video driver both Nvidia and AMD, then after system restart intsall Fresh Nvidia drivers.

I wiped all previous drivers with driver sweep before putting my new GPU on to my PC

go my documents, guildwars2 folder, and delete local.dat, then run the game.

Tried it now but no luck keeps me at 16-20 fps.

Ok, download hwinfo64, run it along with the game on windowed mode, then post a screenshot like this where i can see all the thermal and load readings while running the game (i cannot run the game now cuz i am at work on my laptop lol)

Try lowering reflections and shadows to improve fps

Saying playing other games max is not helpful unless you are talking about planetside 2 which dwarf guild wars 2 system requirements

My processor could be falughty or not set up right….My freinds who have this processor at stock speeds can run guild wars on max settings and some people on youtube can also run this game at max. Im not saying its the processor since i don’t know whats wrong yet.
Games I can run at max. Farcry 3, Sims 3, Max Payne 3, Crysis 2, World of war craft, Call of duty black ops 2, Saints row the third, Skyrim, Fifa 13 and others.

From your posts, it looks like your PC is just fine, the PCI 1.1 thing is normal as all new Nvidia cards do that to save energy, once you start a game it will go up to 2.0 so no worries about that, however a constant 14-18 fps even after changing resolutions means a software problem……try deleting go to My Documents>Guild Wars 2 and delete the Local.dat file and see if that helps.

I have done this before and it didnt help but i have tried it again it runs at 14-18 fps.

all of those games does not tax the processor enough.

World of Warcraft can only tax the cpu at highest setting and a ridiculously high resolution
Note: 1080p is not high enough to tax wow properly

If you are able to play planetside 2 on high, then your game comparison will be more relevant. Do not randomly compare games

all of those games does not tax the processor enough.

If you are able to play planetside 2 on high, then your game comparison will be more relevant. Do not randomly compare games

When in a dynamic fight at max settings and lots of players around im suring it will be making the processor run and like i said my mates can run Guild wars 2 on max with the same processor as me…. we also get the same FPS on diffrent games as well maybe 1-3 fps diffrent if that

I can run planetside 2 on max settings on 1920×1080 I get 45-70fps

May be try reinstalling the whole game? or try installing a brand new copy of windows in dualboot mode so u can discard any kind of sofware problem. download he game again and try run it on a clean windows copy.

driver sweeper can cause as many problems as it can fix, honestly, I cringe every time i see somebody recommend using it.

if you must use a cleanup tool to remove amd video drivers grab the latest atiman and use that.

if you are going to uninstall videodrivers to do a clean install/install a dif brand of card, use revo uninstaller, start the normal uninstall process from revo, then have it track any leftovers, it will do a far better and safer job cleaning up driver detritus then driver sweeper.

as to your problems, welcome to GW2, anet are working on the game to try and get it running better, for now it is what it is.

dont mind the “your cpu sucks” posts, I had an 8120@4.5 and had no problems running the game, infact I was getter better perf then some people I know with eXtreme edition intel chips and top end videocards….with gw2 its kinda like russian roulette weather a system will get good or horrible perf, I have seen intel rigs costing 3-5x what my system cost run the game worse, and systems that cost less the mine run it better then mine…..it really at this point is a crapshoot…….part of why I play less now then I use to, I have hopes anet will get the problems fixed and will also get dx11 support functional….

oh well, at least I have other games to play

Okay before uninstalling or anything here’s some settings to try:
Nvidia Control Panel
AA → App Control
AF → App Control
Mipmap → Performance
Vertical Sync → App Control
Triple Buffering → On
Morphological Filter → Off

In Game:
Vertical Sync → On

These settings tend to help people with low FPS issues.

Yeah but mostly on medium/low end cards, on the fastest card Nvidia has to offer those setting ON or OFF are the same, the GTX680 is just Overkill for GW2, any kind of setting u run in, it will be about the same performace since the CPU will allways bottleneck it.

I have seen a bulldozer allready running GW2 at 4ghz and it was as fast as my i7 2600k, may be a bit slower in WvW but in towns and PVE was about the same i couldn’t be able to notice the difference if i didn’t knew which processor was inside. So i guarantee it is not a CPU performance issue

first generations bulldozers are horrible

second gen phenoms are faster than bulldozers.

Since the OP has posted high frame rates with his Planetside 2, now I know that he probably has a software problem.

loseridoit.2756: first gen dozer’s arent even close to as bad as the hype would have you believe, they are not amazing or great but they work fine, my 8120@4.5 gave me zero perf issues with this game, I was faster then a few people I know who have i7 9*0x chips, and 3770k’s overclocked to 4.5+ range, even though their videocards where at the time better then mine.

gw2 is just wonkey, the dev’s know it, alot of the issues come from using antiquated dx9 api and trying to multi thread it(wasnt really designed thinking about multi threading.)

there may be no fix for this issue for him, on the other hand, he could try tweaking drivers or swapping drivers, he could also try grabbing process lasso and see if it helps any, I know it has for a few people I know(tho they where on intel systems)

funny enough, I have seen far more problems on forums and with people I know involving nVidia cards then AMD…..this is the opposite you normally see on forums, most people complain about AMD drivers sucking…….very very odd……

I’ve tried different drivers but i have changed the settings that people have said to do in here but no luck still 14-18 fps. I’m thinking of upgrading my processor to a 8350 and overclocking with a new motherboard in the near future.

couldnt hurt, the asrock extreme4 or 9 would be great boards to clock on(better then the sabertooth) you need good cooling to clock fx line chips though.

you should be able to get 4.2-4.4 range on that 8150 without even upping the volts, would need better then stock cooling tho.

I really think your issues something other then cpu or gpu tho, this games hard to pin down whats causing problems…….if you decide to overclock, make sure to get a decent cooler if you need suggestions, I can give you a few that arent to costly but that work very well (if you need more of that kinda help, head over to my forums at http://ashentech.com )

Well i cant overclock on my current motherboard so when I do get a new. I may as well get an 8350 CPU.

last I checked the M5A78L-M/USB3 supports overclocking, its not gonna be an overclocking beast but you shouldnt have any trouble getting at least 4.2 solid on it.

Hey u have 8gb of ram, make sure u have it intalled in dual channel mode on the right slots, a guy had a similar problem and he fixed i reseating thram on the right slots.

I’ve been having FPS problems too. It only started today. My computer normally can handle it on Medium with High shaders and shadows at 40-60 fps. Its an i7 processor and a GeForce 650M. I have the updated drivers, and it runs just fine on my other games but as of today – even at lowest settings and every resolution – it runs at 10-15

ThermalRight has a few that are great, but you have to make sure they will fit in your case( the best ones are very tall)

I’ve got the same problem. It started today out of nothing. Everything was working perfectly yesterday, today I loging and my FPS don’t go above 20fps(no matter of what graphic settings i do). I had arround 50 fps before. This is getting annoying.
Btw on character select i get 63 fps(which seems to be the highest) when i load in game..boom 11fps

that cooler will do the trick, I do recommend replacing the fans with better ones, the stock fans OK but far from great(it ticks loudly when it pwm’s)

the ebay fans are great, I have bought 30+ of them over the past year to put in builds for people, at full speed they can get a bit loud, but they only hit full speed if your cpu gets way to hot…..

you should be able to get 4.5-4.6 stable with that cooler on an 8150 pretty easy, you will want to ask for help on xtremesystems or overclocker.net OR my forums(ashentech.com) tho XS or ocn will probably be better places for advice on your board since I dont have one of those.

are you using tall ram?

you dont want ram with tall heatsinks/spreaders, they dont really help and they tend to get in the way of good air coolers.

the aiger is a good cooler, very good infact, not as good as the silver arrow but alot cheaper AND a bit less work to install….(The silver arrow is a bit of a chore to install…..and thats being kind)

Most games are not MMORPG. Guild Wars 2 is not special. I am pretty sure that people have frame rate issue with other newly released MMOs.

Well, that sucks. Any chance this problem will ever be fixed, because right now my processors aren’t too strong on their own but are supposed to make up for that by being numerous.

You have what processor/specs. In the near future improvements will be seen but its not a certain thing that you will run smooth.

defrag hard drive check for viruses.. not with 1 security system tho. I use Avast and malwarebytes… malware slowed me down in games like a max payne 3.
