Just thought I’d mention that I got some improvement last night by guesting on a lower pop server (I’m on Desolation). Whether that was coincidental or not I don’t know, but it’s worth a try.

I can confirm on this. Guesting on a server of low population does decrease the lag.
Same for me since a few days. So far it used to be ok for me, only with using a vpn (battleping) though.
But now it’s not playable any more in www, even with a vpn (i tried 3 different vpn providers). Skills needs 2-5 seconds delay.
I am from France, isp is Free.

Day 3 begins at 9am. Works fine – perfectly. I notice one lag spike and scream without looking at the clock “OOOH, IT’S GOT OT BE 5.30!” And shocklingly, shockingly, as if I had no idea – the time was exactly 5.30…

Yet another day where 6:30pm (GMT) the game has become massively laggy, well yet again I’m going to play CnC 4 for 6 hours until it passes.
This needs some looking into, can we get a dev to say they are aware of it? Good thing I got all my dailies done early on purpose huh? :-D
I’m getting game freezes and skill delays (3-4 / 30minutes). Everything was fine 3months before on the Desolation server. I have all drivers updated, running on maximum settings without any problems. ISP has confirmed that this issue is not on their side…
Please Anet, do something about this lag-out issues it is really irritating when these things happen in PvP or WvW.
Our guild members are getting the same lag issues on the desolation server after 6pm gmt time. – last 4-5 nights in a row.
Same Colin – Same server – Same time. Yet Anet have nothing to say it seems.

There we go. It hit 19:00 (GMT+0) and I’m getting 5 second skill delay.
I’ve been playing the game since release, and I’ve been enjoying it – but now I’m being forced AWAY from the game, due to them not dealing with the lag spikes.
It’s all good and dandy releasing cool wings, and new content – but what’s the point if your players can’t even play the game?
This entire situation has just turned into loose stool water, and I’m sure other people are getting sick and tired of just having to ‘deal’ with the lag spikes.
Yep, here it is again. I was home early today and was playing around 3 – 5 pm, no problems at all. Sure enough, came back to it now at 7.30 pm and it’s skill lag all the time.
Can we have some input from Support, please? This is the ‘Tech Support’ forum after all.
Well, the lag is here again. It all started after the last update before Dragon Bash, and I just can’t play.
I’m sorry to say this Anet, but this is embarrassing. After every single update there are always some people with lag problems, I don’t know if you guys test the patchs before putting them into the game, but if you do, then you are doing something wrong.
This couldn’t be less professional, it doesn’t matter how much new content you add to the game if the players can’t even play.
No dice, it’s kittened.
Going to try calling out the devs on the main forum, that normally earns an infraction but with any luck it means someone might notice us.

I’ve been experiencing exact same problems but for about a week. Usually starting at 18:00 UK time

Same problem. Was totally fine before 3 days ago. Then, between 5-6 BST, lag starts. It lasts until about 10-11. WvW becomes unplayable, even casual PVE and gathering/mining has massive (10+ second) spikes. During an unplayable guild rush attempt, the timer was still counting down on the HUD even though the game was stuck in a lag spike, so I was able to see the exact time of some of the spikes – most were 15-25 seconds, one was 1min 14 sec!

People complain about last 3 days…most of us been in this lame problem about a month…and no a single answer not even a question from Latin support page.
Also encountering this lag. When it spike hits me, I tunnel my connection through Poland and the game is mostly okay. Friends that connect directly from Poland don’t have any problems at all.

Exactly the same thing. Around 8pm the game just starts lagging like a mofo and I literally can’t do anything due to it. Skills take 5-10 seconds to respond and I rubber band like a man possessed.

The lack of any kind of response from ANet is annoying, although I’m guessing most of the Fibre lines being used are BT owned so it’s probably something to do with that crappy company.
I’ve had this issue as well the last couple of days. The game works fine until a certain time of the day, then lag spikes starts and makes the game unplayable.

Have had this issue for the last couple of weeks now from the south of the UK.. only during prime time
Have changed my client port to 80… still same issue so I know full well that Zen (as they claim) are NOT throttling
Usually starts around 20:00 and goes on til anything from 21:30 to 23:00
Ping’s to other objects on the internet are fine (google DNS servers, BBC etc) with no packet loss
Diagnostics when run show packet loss close to aplayer IP’s
Other games work fine.. BF3 has no lag to any server around europe (BF3 would usually be the biggest sign of problems!)
So tempted to rage about this, but working in the telecomms business I know full well that the ISP’s will blame A-net… A-net will blame the ISP… NO ONE will take responsibility for any interconnects, collectors or dodgy routing

The skill lag just a few seconds ago is unplayable, Anet doesn’t respond on this. I thought you guys deliver a working product, but instead you give us a laggy WvW format.
Im unsatisfied customer, and I would like some response on this problem. I have played your PVE and I do enjoy your 10 minute content every month.
But can we play WvW normally without the insane amount of lag? I feel ashamed that my brother bought this game too 2 weeks ago, he played WvW with me for 10 minutes and he had the same problems.
He left after the 10 minutes and said he rather plays a free 2 play mmo without this insane lag.
So after numerous posts, we.. well me want a clear answer.
It cant be fixed right? (just admit it so I can look for another game)
Have read through all of this thread, seems to me whatever Anet have done has caused this lag. Game is now unplayable. (and Anet want players back) get rid of the lag.
It’s getting worse, every week lag and skill delay seems to get worse. Is not as if it’s happening when I’m fighting a massive blob, unplayable against any opposition as I just found out when attempting to chase off just 2 players from a tower.
aNet to fix this NOW, hot-fix it, roll back whatever PvE junk you deployed to cause this, people are leaving this game, lag and skill delay like this will do nothing to encourage people to stay.

Agree. Last few days game is totally unplayable due to lag. I lag everywhere except Queensdale which is odd because LOADS of people are farming stuff there for ez coffers.

Same as every one else in this thread I am getting serious lag. I used to not lag at all but now I get a huge lag spike whenever engaging a fight or even just randomly.
This lag is not a 5 second thing. It can last up to 10-20 seconds with the whole population in my zone just standing completely still or locked in a loop, running infinitely in the direction they were running when I hit the spike.
I can play other online games just fine so whatever Anet did after the latest patch is ruining my game experience.
The game is just unplayable. WvW, PvE, sPvP, it doesn’t matter, the lag is everywhere.
After two weeks I’m still looking for a solution (this happened to me before, but a patch solved it, I would like to see a permanent fix).

Tried to play this evening but the lag was as atrocious as ever, both through the new Dragon Bash instance and then in WvW (entered a fight where I don’t think I even got the auto-attack off successfully).
And now all out recent posts get merged into some generic trashcan that was started 9 months ago. I’m beginning to doubt there is any interest or ability to resolve this issue, and I’ll probably give it another week before uninstalling this sorry excuse for a game. But hey, they all already have all the money they’ll ever get from me, so I doubt very much they care.
Norcal AT&T U-Verse. Been getting a bit a lag lately (past few weeks or so) in the evenings. Just some 1 to 3 second delays in Guild Wars only. Doesn’t happen very often and doesn’t last very long for me. I’ve had a few disconnects as well, but not sure if it’s related.
Dear tech team, I’m having lags during gameplay. It happened since 2 days ago. I got a patch updated today but it’s still the same. Walking around the world is ok but when it comes to war and harvesting there’re always 2-3 secs lag.

It started on July 1st, the not so secret puzzle pirate bandit thing day.
Having 2-3 seconds lag when casting skills and gathering, from time to time the lag is even worse.
Sometimes, its not like im freeze, computer crash, this program is not responding… its like, my character is just standing there but the animations are still running and then… kicked to the character selection Screen.
When i have inet problems, it doesnt kick me to the selection screen, so its a different problem…
Opened a ticket yesterday, just to get the same pre recorded answer “hey, its your isp fault, not ours”
Been happening to me for the last month now, I am very close to quitting at this rate.

Major lag, often major skill delay or the “jumpy” character. I am sorry but it is definitely not our ISP or our computers. I have never experienced this lag before in gaming.
Ok…so,that guy from UK is also lagging after a certain hour.
I’m having the same problems,after 14:00 GMT -3 the game is UNPLAYABLE,I rubberband a lot,skills take 15~ seconds to activate,if in big events,I get disconnected and throw back to the character select screen.
Now that I said it,actually the game stops lagging 2:00 GMT -3,EXACTLY 12 hours after,coincidence? I think not

Lol Sorean, I’d love skill lag of 15 seconds. Mine is over 5 minutes. Can’t comment on PVE or PVP, as I don’t do them; I’m WvW only, and it’s unplayable. As usual, the 100% packet loss is all inside Anet’s range of servers.

All other games work fine, videos load fine, hell I’ve even played this game with capped internet during the “safe” times without significant lag.
Flawless gameplay (as flawless as you can get over here, approx 200 ping) before 5pm AEST (Midnight PST.) After that it fluctuates from 500-1000 according to Resource Monitor, becoming completely unplayable. Happens every day, and has been for the past couple months.
WvW and PvP is always unplayable regardless of the time of day, but the permanent lag is slowly creeping into PvE and the “pre-midnight safe time” is steadily getting more and more lag.
Been playing for a while now and I don’t remember this being a problem in the past. Considering the game mostly runs well during the “safe” times the potential for minimal lag is most certainly there.
It’s a shame, becase 5pm is roughly when I can start playing after work. So the daily ritual is Log In, Savage Leap, rubber band wildly all over LA until the leap concludes with me still airborne doing a comical ‘falling’ animation, sigh and log off.

I’ve been experiencing lag for about 2 weeks now. There wasn’t a problem in the beginning. It’s getting really hard to play GW2.
Im also experiencing lag spikes.. Its unplayable, first time i noticed was yesterday and after an hour or so it stopped.. Today it started about the same time 6-7 PM GMT+1 but it wont stop. I will edit post with diag as soon as the repair is done..
EDIT, i should also mention that i have no issues playing counter-strike on swedish servers. Dont know where your servers are located but im guessing germany..

Hello I’m Italian and purchased the game in Italy, now I’m staying in Brazil and I cannot play anymore because of the latency/lag.
Here my diagnostic file.
All the speed test tell me that I’m running at 5mbt so connection have to be at least decent i guess.

After having had a very good experience the last couple of months, the extreme lag returns once more. Rubber-banding all over the place. As usual, not an isp issue but something with your servers, yet again.

Today the game is unplayable in WvW.
Unplayable lag even during the middle of the afternoon without any heavy activity.
This is kitten ing me off. The lag in this game is intolerable.
Router reset, game seems fine in PvE so that excludes any connection errors.

Extreme lag since Nightmare tower patch, this appear to be long term and serious so I will quit the game until my Internet or Anet is improved
Darkhaven here, based in the UK. I have had unplayable skill lag in WvW on more than a few occasions, to the extent I’ve had to quit for the night. In Team PvP Tournaments, there have been times I have missed the entire match due to lag, and a refusal for the game to connect once the match starts. I love this game, but it is really disheartening when I want to get competitive.
