After several days of playing, up to level 40, the game suddenly crashed and I received this message. Now every time I try to run Guild Wars 2, I keep getting it. Here’s what is sent. Any help or advice? Thanks in advance.

Are you using custom music? Did you just set up or change any of the playlists?
I ask because if you’re playlists are wonky (they have directories instead of files), of the wrong format or point to bad files, the game will crash. I had this issue.

It says “Crash” then a lot of information about my system. Is there something I should look for in particular?

Not that I know of …to tell you the tuth. That info would however be useful for ANet to determine what is causing your crash.

My system started doing this after I had been playing for several days. The culprit ended up being the Gigabyte overclocking software that I installed with my new Gigabyte 660 ti card, even though I had done no overclocking. When I uninstalled that, the game began working fine again.

Hi OneAngryPanda – Could you please attach a DxDiag or Game Advisor report for us to take a look at in order to investigate this issue? Additionally, if you could attach the full crash report as well this would be very helpful.
You can find the Game Advisor report at the link below:

Make sure that with both the directory containing Gw2.exe ( ‘Guild Wars 2’ by default ) and the one containing the .dat file the option ‘read only’( right-click + properties ) is disabled. It solved the problem for me, hopefully it will too for you!

I am having this same problem after not playing for some months and I was not having this issue before. Iv tried the -repair method and the read only unchecked method and nodda. Drivers are also up to date. Any other ideas?

I have also been away from the game for months. I updated files before the 17th and was able to log in and then crashed on character load because my CPU fan died.
I also have up to date drivers, tried the -repair, downloaded someone else’s gw2.exe which works briefly, then when it reloads it gives the exact same error as my exe did.
I run vista and several months ago played the game fine… is this because of the patch?
