Guild Wars 2

Since the 2 hour maintenance break we just had (April 16), I have been experiencing severe latency.

I have tried restarting both my computer and my router. I have also tried logging into other games etc, and the problem is unique to GW2.

In eternal battlegrounds I asked in /m if anyone else is experiencing this and the answer was no. Anyone on these forums having the same problem, or is it just me?

Some help would be appreciated.

I just experienced the most severe case of rubberbanding of any games. All actions took places literally about a minute after I pressed a button. I had to alt F4 in the middle of fighting claw because there is simply no point going on like this and I’m pretty sure I won’t get the credit for kill as I can’t tell where my toon actually is.

Yep, my whole guild getting it bad. Not even in WvW, just doing anything running around LA. About 0.5 – 1 second lag on all actions.

Hey there, I’m also experiencing this lag. Thank god it isn’t just me. The problems have started since the patch. Hopefully there’s a solution to this. I have called my ISP and they said there were no problems at all at their end.

Yip game is terrible to play now. Tried doing a dungeon pretty much impossible..

Rather the same here too, can see everyone fine but skills take ages to activate.

Was happily raiding dungeons until minutes before maintenance and when it went back up, combat lag is so bad!! Heck even /whisper is lag!!

Having the same issue. Skills taking 3-20 seconds to activate, chat is delayed, etc.

im having the same problem. all of my action were delayed for 10~20 sec
and sometimes disconnecting me from the server back to character selection
restarting computer and game cant solve the problem

many guildmate lag too, skill lag 20 seconds in wvw, totally unplayable

been having lag for the past few days, everywhere, from 1 to 30 seconds. Got disconnected a few times yesterday during jade maw. Tried doing /repair on the client but it didn’t fix anything.

Login an hour before Daily Reset. Lag seems to have gone away. Still attaching the log file for your reference.

After the April 26 maintenance did a few instance and was fine (although one in party complains of massive lag). Next day start getting massive lag spikes in fractals and twilight arbor, the 2 instance I run regularly.

Today was worst, lagged randomly in south sun, WvW and spvp instance (Did one spvp w/o lag and randomly lagged in the other 2). Did not try fractals, but after entering TA solo and fighting the vines for a short while, start to get massive lag that sometimes even d/c me.

Here’s mine. I’ve been getting pretty bad lag and about half the FPS I usually get.

Couldn’t see anything noticeably wrong from the diagnostics. I’ve tried most the things on there myself – pinging the GW2 server, checking for packet loss, tracking the hop count, speed tests etc but I just can’t get to the root of the issue. I didn’t realise there was an update but from the looks of things, it only started acting up after the update was implemented.

Sometimes I can’t even get into the game. I’ll select a character and it’ll load Lion’s Arch but be forever on that loading screen. Managed to get on for long enough yesterday to complete my daily but I’m having less luck today. Definitely not a hardware issue, GW2 is on an SSD, running it with a 6870 and an i3 processor w/ 8GB RAM.

Anyway, hope this gets sorted soon.

EDIT: Turns out, I just can’t login on my character I want to be on. I tried creating a new character and playing on other characters and they can play the game fine. It’s just the one that I’ve been on the past couple of days that is affected by this loading glitch. Perhaps I need a new thread…

Mine is terrible too, I was okay this morning in tournaments apart from a few random freezes, I logged back in at 4 to play some Spvp and omg 1 second delay’s on normal skills then 5 to 10 second or so freezes. Completely unplayable at the moment =(

I’ve also been experiencing pockets of severe skill lag this past week or so. It alleviates itself for short periods when I log out and log back in, or change character, but it does come back once I’ve been playing for a short while.

I made a thread about this specific issue, it only appears to be effecting a certain character on my account and only at peak times. If I swap servers to guest on a low population one the problem vanishes.

There seems to be the same problem as mentioned by previous posts. like there is a major skill lag 1-4 seconds, every now and then. even for chat , party windows also. it seems to be some sort of lag spike or rubber banding. even the skills that get clicked on, get highlighted and blink quite abit, but does not activate.

sometimes the issue is not present.. but recently after few updates gw2 has done, i faced this issue quite regularly recently.. my gw2 hasnt had any problems since start of this game.

Been getting something similar. i almost exclusively PvE, and usually when i log on a toon then i get crazy crazy lag on pretty much everything, can chat in guild just fine though.
Takes ages to gather herbs, nodes etc, skills take ages to do. asked some friends in guild one of them gets it as bad as me, others have no problem. first started happenning in ORr and LA, but now it’s hitting pretty much everywhere. had to relog my toon three times last night for teqqy before it becomes playable.

The wierd thing though is that once it goes away it stays perfect and game runs with no hitches until i log another toon. Tried other net based games and they got no issues.

lantency average to 500. Difficulty playing the game due to lag.

similar problem to others after maintenance- serious lag on skills and even just interacting with NPC’s running to minutes on occassion, server disconnects, extremely long load times for LA, etc.
strangely it was specific to only 2 of my 10 characters at first but since mini update yesterday can affect randomly.
so far only affected in PVE and using the WvWvW shuttle, no dungeon runs since it started.

i just noticed alittle bit of lag earlier today, then just now tried to do jormag, everyone was lagging out as was i, then get disconnect, log back in event over and miss out, again..

I thought this was fixed!, getting sick of it… you want to know the sound of an unhappy customer thats been ticked off afew to many times, they dont make any sound, cause theyve left..

i havent been able to play since the start of april when sab was released. After playing this game since beta with no problems.
Now when i enter any instance or new zone i often get a lagged out zone where everyone is running into walls and warping back and my character is lagged out and unplayable. It seems totally random upon entering a dungeon or pvp match whether it will work or not and upon leaving that area/going to heart of mists all the lag mysteriously disappears.

The lag is still pretty bad but you get used to it.

There is no getting used to the lag I play with. Its not consistent, it spikes out of control which leads to skills not going off and 5-10 second game freezes. Wake up dead a lot of times. Now someone please tell me that it’s my ISP so I can then respond with “funny how its only Guild Wars that does this and I’ve been playing since release and this problem has just manifested itself….”

The lag is terrible and that is why I haven’t WvW’d in ages.

It’s really awful this afternoon – major lag. I’ve rebooted my router a couple of times, but GW2 remains unplayable. Skills don’t activate, players and NPCs take ages to appear, and I have to stand in asura gates for several seconds for them to register. This isn’t just WvW – I can’t even solo SAB.

I have been having a similar problem this week. All skills have about 1-4 second lag and things like ride the lightning actually just cause me to stand still and go nowhere. I completed a speed test and it shows 26mb download and 5mb upload with a 16 ms latency. My framerate stays above 70 at most times. I tried playing other web based games and they run perfectly smooth. This skill lag occurs anywhere in game. WVW, PVE and SPVP. I play on Jade Quarry.

12/25 lost/sent.

That’s bad, right?

Blinking takes around 3-4s to activate and, when it does, i get ported back and forth, not to mention all players teleporting/warping around me and me not having any idea of what the kitten is going on.
