I’ve been watching my ping pretty closely with Resource Monitor
On PvE maps like Gendarran Fields, I get 200-250 ping, which is pretty normal for me when I’m connecting to NA servers (I get 160-240 on NA LoL servers).
When I’m in WvW, I get 400-500 ping, spiking to 800 ping in large fights.
Something is wrong here

Suddenly after megaservers rolled out, my ping went from 40 to 200 pretty frequently. Anet says its your ISP, you have routing issues etc. Thats funny considering me and several others had no ping issues before these last updates, and suddenly our ISPs are acting up. Servers are routing through China or something..
“Servers are routing through China or something..”
This statement shows why most people are blaming A-net for their ISP/network problems – they don’t know how the internet works, much less networks in general.
ArenaNet has NO control over the path the data takes TO or FROM their servers.

So these problems coincidentally happened recently, with multiple people, over multiple ISPs?

The backbone that is used is often used by many if not all of the ISPs, so IPS does not really matter, what matters is the route the ISP you have chose to give you to a given server, if that node is having a problem of some sort all traffic going through it will suffer. This happens all the time, but most people who are not into networking have no idea of how it all works and think the only thing there is for the connection is their modem and the anet servers, and that is just not the case, if this was a server problem everyone would be having this problem, but rather it is a small amount compared to the user base that does.

Yes, actually.
I log in every morning, do the dailies and maybe some group events. If I have time, I may also log in at other times during the day. I have no problems playing or updating the game.
It’s not a server problem or it would affect everyone.
