error code 7:11:3:189:101
Simple solution, regress to the GW2 that worked.
We play just for fun.
It is the same thing here…
six moths in and Anet still has to solve this issue?
ridiculous.
i cant even play anymore, lag spikes and errors 7:11:3:189:101 since january patch
i think this the tenth time in less than an hour… can any anet expert pls help us and give tips/advice at least, thanks

I have a few accounts, some characters in different locations could log on others could not. That was typical for all accounts. I could get some chars that were located already in the main cities and to WvW on all accounts.
All chars that got this error and were dcd saying I had a connectivity issue, were located in Southsun and although I got one into Southsun once, I was kicked with the same error very swiftly.
All accounts had the same message after logging in properly, that there was an issue with the newsfeed.
I could not logon to the forums nor support, although I could log onto the main page and the wiki. The IE browser page said I had a connectivity issue on those GW pages.
This problem always happens after an update from GW.
All accounts are on the Gandara world.
This would be easy to replicate using a client side system, perhaps a few volunteers to have them observe this pattern, using logmein.com software with the game not in full screen ofc. I would be fine to volunteer for that so the client issue is observed in real time.
I’ve been having Disconnect issues for a while now. I did have a good 2 weeks of no disconnects a few patches ago however. I’ve changed routers, uninstalled/re-installed/repaired the client and OS. No other systems or connections were interrupted when Guild Wars 2 would code 7 me. Couldn’t figure it out. I’ve boiled it down to the client and I think I have determined where I specifically have this problem, and I’d like some input from other players on whether my hunch is right/valid.
Where I get disconnected the most: Instances (dungeons/fractals), WvWvW, and lately waiting for dragon timers. I disconnect often in high population zones, in remote areas I have no problems.
My theory, (and I’ve tested this on my end) is that I’m getting disconnected when an Overflow is created, or map population limit is reached. I don’t quite understand why this applies to instances like dungeons, but maybe there are population limits on dungeon server instances.
I’d like for you guys to pay attention to your location’s population and see if this is something you guys experience as well. When WvWvW gets an overflow, or is heavily crowded are you diconnected? Are you being disconnected in instances? Are you being kicked in meta event zones where populations are high? When I wait for Dragons I arrive early and can usually predict when we hit the cap and get an overflow by getting disconnected. So I stay in a party so I can port back. Maybe people porting in over this cap are kicking me? doesn’t explain WvWvW but I think I get kicked there a lot more often when this threshold is hit and, I for whatever reason get the boot.
There are random hiccups from time to time to be expected, but just try to recognize if you are having similar issues in these specific scenarios so maybe the devs can narrow it down.
NCSoft support know even less about this than I do. I’m starting to wonder if they have anyone who even has the ability to understand what’s causing the problem, let alone fix it.
Is it really that impossible to solve? I didn’t have time to play again until now and now that I finally have this precious time I can’t play due to this error, I play in Sorrow’s Furnace world (better said, I played), I’ve already tried the dns things, the port forwarding, I even risked a little uninstalling my anti-virus software and nothing changes, I still get disconnected after 4 minutes (if lucky), sometimes I get disconnected right away. Please at least tell us something relevant, I’m tired of trying with no success, and I guess it’s already pretty obvious that most people’s PCs are in good shape so it can’t be our computers or connection routers. I didn’t use to have this problem before and nothing has changed since I took a break away from the game. Please an honest answer and no more blaming our hardware/software.

When I played during launch , I have never received this error . It wasn’t until one of their updates that made things go from bad to worse , now I can’t hardly play .
This is just pathetic 6 months 0 answers that could help you. Perhaps instead of promoting this game so much u can fix it finaly
Hey guys – as previously stated, the best way for us to collect information, diagnose, and troubleshoot this issue is by creating a support ticket as the reason for this particular error message can vary.
i think this the tenth time in less than an hour… can any anet expert pls help us and give tips/advice at least, thanks
experts will give you some tips or advice “soon” (+-few years i guess)
Hello guys,
Unfortunately I have also this issue, it begun 2 days ago and now I can’t play the game. To much lag 3/5 seconds delay and disconnect with that error.
I was playing fine till 2 days ago … omg (I can’t believe this his happening to me).
Please, any tips/advices to solve this problem?? I have windows XP, this issue just started 2 days ago.
Thanks in advance,
Outer
i know how to solve the problem. Uninstall gw 2 .
Ashley thanks for responding. I for one have submitted a ticket and being dealt with. I hope this gets fixed. I hope though that Anet can make an official statement addressing players on this issue (what’s causing them and what would be the solution/what can players do)
I tried creating a ticket. The support staff had no idea what they were talking about – blaming the connection problems on packet loss because it was the only thing they could think of.
At worst, I’ve had packet loss of 2% when the connection was highly overloaded. This should, in theory, cause some problems – but retrying should work 98% of the time. It doesn’t work ever in GW2 – and works every time in GW1.
That should have been the first hint it wasn’t a packet loss problem.
The other indication is that it’s not just when the connection is overloaded that I can’t connect – it’s random. Connection load right now is low, packet loss 0%. Still can’t connect. So much for that theory.
I tried explaining this to NCSoft support, but they completely ignored it and just said “talk to your ISP”. I’ve had them say exactly the same thing a few months ago regarding lag issues when, except for GW1 and GW2, every other game on the planet was working just fine.
This is why I don’t see any point in trying to work with NCSoft support on this issue – they’re incompetent.
This adds a whole new challenge to the game..I thought fighting a guy who’s health regenerated three times in a single instance was way too easy, but thank god Anet came to the rescue and added this five minute kill timer to the mix! Now if I don’t kill him three times within 5 minutes, I still lose; how exhilarating!
Thank you Anet for listening to the real fans, I can’t wait to see what the next patch update brings!
Hi!
I got this error too. There seems no reason to blame the local IP configuration or my ISP. Lags began to happen about two days ago and my skill buttons kept blinking up two seconds without action! Now the lag lasts infinitely.
Something on the servers is not ok! For me as a developer it looks like some kind of deadlock which causes an action being completed and blocking any further incoming actions. The buffer for those actions may be limited and the error message should be ‘input buffer overflow’ which may be an exception which is discriminated to ‘connection lost’ (missing “catch (BufferOverflow Exception) { … }” ?) – Please check this out – I know such problems mainly from time-critical high performance software components which are not using the high level exception handling and may fall through several subroutines into the main action receiving/processing loop without reliable information for what reason (unmanaged/managed code). Of course the connection termination is the best and only way to handle this situation since it may be a security hole and a candidate to be hacked but it’s highly recommended to identify the real problem and handle it correct.
May be a deadlock is caused by a problem with the action serialization? IP packets are guaranteed to be received in correct order, requests are not. Due to traffic ballancing the ip action requests take different routes and are received in reverse order. The result would be similar to a classic ‘syntax error’ which would be detected if Guild Wars 2 only were an interpreter or a compiler.
One effect which may be related to this issue is the ‘use water bucket to wake up drunken npc’ action which does currently not succeed in about 90%. The action is taken but it has no target. The npc just keeps sleeping. But: The connection does not get lost. This may bee a serialization problem too and the ‘use water bucket’ may be received just before the ‘select target’. This issue appeared at the same time as the lags.
Another point may be the yellow/red npc. It appears to me that the connection gets lost with mixed red/red yellow/red npc’s in the combat area and a yellow/red one starts combatting.
I’ve had some changes on the autoattacking during the last days – it had been off and now is on. This may trigger some ‘select target’ which interfere my user actions.
6 month and this problem still exists?! A bit sorry for spending money on this game now. As a softwaredeveloper im ashamed on your behalf.
Btw a little something for you:
Attachments:
Support ticket raised, however fully expecting the standard ‘issues is with you or your isp answer’. I find it beguiling that Anet could think this seeing as up until the F&F patch on the 26th I could play fine.
Looking at the variables that have changed since before experiencing the issue and the now regular d.c every 2 minutes the only thing that has change on my pc/isp is the version of the game.
Before people start, yes all my drivers are up to date and the sun is still rising east to west. Come on Anet, with these many complaints, surely this is something that should be of high priority not some blocky April Fool content.
Just got disconnected 3 times :s
Disconnected another time. Here’s the screen I got:
This is not my game, internet or gateway. I checked my internet connection, google chrome works perfect, yet I get kicked out of the game.
I didn’t have this issue 1 hour ago, but since then I’ve played in the sab and my zoom glitched for some reason. Is it possible these issues are related?
I have two PCs running the game at the same time, one gets DCed at least once a day, sometime more, the other never, ever DCs.
They’re identical except for gfx cards, on the same router, so clearly this is nothing to do with anything but Anet’s servers.
Have been getting the error code constantly for the past two days since the latest patch.
Every time I try to join and load and area, it takes 3-5 minutes to load but by then I already know what is going to happen.
I get in, I can’t use any skills, and then get the error code 7:11:3:189:101.
Hey Point Blanc i got the same problem as well , i uninstall gw2 from windows and using mac osx, download client for mac , and i got the same problem again.
I can login , i can try to kill some , selling item to merchant then i can’t use any skill.
I’m sorry I’m new to Guild Wars 2. Recently bought the game and it is indeed as awesome as what everybody says.
There’s one really big issue though, I got disconnected really often, it’s like 3 or 4 disconnections each minute. Please kindly someone enlighten me about this situation.
Thank you in advanced.

You may need to configure your firewall to un-restrict ports 80, 443, 6112 and 6600.
I have found that I do not need to configure my hardware firewall but software firewalls including the Windows firewall may need some configuring.
Running the client on port 80 may help alleviate the issue also.
1) Navigate to theGW2 directory normaly located at “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\” or “C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\”
2) R-Click “Gw2.EXE” then select Send To>Desktop (create shortcut)
3) One your Desktop R-Click the “Gw2 – shortcut” and Rename it to “Gw2 – Port 80”
4) R-Click the “Gw2 – Port 80” shortcut and select Properties
5) In the tagert line, all the way to the right after the quotation mark add a space then type the following: -clientport 80
Example: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -clientport 80
Example 2: “C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\” -clientport 80
6) Click Apply then OK
7) Try running the game
I hope this helps

Thank you for the very quick reply, I’ll try this immediately.
Keep rock and rolling!
@UserX.8217
Sorry, but how to configure my firewall to un-restrict ports 80,443,6112, and 6600?
Thank you in advanced, again.
Are you using security software like AVG? Also what version of Windows are you using?
Corsair Pro AX1200 / SoundBlaster ZxR/ Windows 8 Pro x64 (+WMC) EFI Instal
Yes, I’m using AVG Anti Virus Free Edition 2013. Widows 7 Professional.
For AVG use this Sticky

Let me launch a Windows 7 VM to get you some instructions as to the Windows firewall. It will be a few minutes.

1) Go to Start
2) Type Firewall in the search
3) Click on “Windows firewall with Advanced Security”
4) Select “Inbound Rules” from the left pane
5) Scoll through the Inbound Rules in the center pane and try to locate “Guild Wars 2 Game Client”
If you see the rules then is should be configured. There are normaly 6 rules
2 rules for the Temp directory TCP/UDP – Private profile
2 rules for the Program direcetoy TCP/UDP – Private profile
2 rules for the Program directory TCP/UDP – Public profile
Let me know if you see any rules for Guild Wars 2

@UserX.8217
There are 2 “Guild Wars 2 Game Client” in inbound rules table.
Decided to check on one and yes, I’ve got 6 TCPs under the “Protocol and Ports” tab.
Now, I have to insert “80, 443, 6112-6600” under the “Local port” tab, right?
For the Windows firewall you should not need to do anymore if they are listed. AVG may be your problem so configuring it may solve your issue.

If you keep on having trouble after configuring AVG you may want to try the port 80 switch. I would try it without the switch and see if configuring AVG fixes the problem first.
Running the client on port 80 may help alleviate the issue also.

Unfortunately my AVG is free edition, and there’s no firewall feature so far…
ok, try the port 80 switch

@UserX.8217
When I try to insert the port number 80,443,6112-6600; a window poped-up saying that:
An error occurred while verifying the rule.
Error : The parameter is incorrect
Status: "Defer to user’ setting can only be used in a firewall rule where program path and TCP/UDP protocol are specified with no additional scopes
I’m lost now…
Don’t add anything to the Windows firewall. We just wanted to make sure that it was configured and it appears to be. Try the port 80 switch.

When I try the port 80 switch, I can’t log-in to the game. There is a text in the corner right of the window saying “Build: 17583, Error Code: 42:0:9001:4116”
Hmm, that normally indicates a firewall issue or blocked ports. Kind of strange seeing that port 80 is used to browse.
Do me a favorer and past the line from the target here.
R-Click the “Gw2 – Port 80” shortcut and select Properties
Copy the target line

It’s “D:\Program Files\[ArenaNet] Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -clientport 80
Looks good. Try disabling your AVG. I don’t recommend leaving it disabled but I would like to test with it off to see if you are still getting the error.

It’s disabled already and I got the same result…
I noticed a patch went through run the client normally “without the port 80 switch” and see if the patch downloads. I am not sure if the switch works for patching, I would assume that it would.

Yes, it did auto patch itself when I open the normal client. Let’s give it a try and hope the disconnection problem fixed.
Thanks a bunch @UserX.8217 I really appreciate your big help!
No problem, I hope it works. For the record many people are having issues. Some seem to be related to the game and others are configuration issues.
Good luck…
