The people that post from a vabbi perspective are (for the most part) from roaming guilds. Of course they will try to kill the people in the backline of a zerg or guild – if it works, great; if it fails you can always complain about getting zerged. It’s the same as when raiding guilds push into blobs, then complain about getting blobbed.

If you use a guild raid to kill a roamer (by veiling or portal bombing…), for whatever reason, of course you will have to live with the ridicule. That’s how this works and by now everybody should have a thick skin when it comes to that.

The only thing i’d like to add is that you should focus on Psy when you hunt roamers. They are the ones that actually want to kill you. We from CB only want to kill the people afk at gates or that fell behind while salvaging. We’re helping your raidleader by keeping up discipline!

Don’t forget the important task of killing upleveled rangers so often that they change class, thus reducing the amount of alting going on within raids.

Yes, please hunt Psy and leave your upscaled Rangers behind!

i didn’t have a problem with that personally, and i think most people understand why it happens, it is cheap, but it needs to happen while on border defense. i like use invis for every attack because that’s how you do it properly, and if it’s not needed, it’s still good practice.

It’ll be balanced teams, but never balanced fights and that was what you said.

Then again, from my perspective wsr doesn’t feel any different to fight than Rof or ros. To me it doesn’t matter if we play around with Tash, Tag or Frs. Running from a zerg feels the same no matter what server they are from.

The whole matchups gone a bit silly really, WSR/Vabbi should’ve both prioritised Arbor for the closest matchup possible – close matchups are always tense if not fun! It could’ve kept Arbor’s score down and made it a 3 way fight for 1st.

But, after a long days upgrading and defending borderlands on saturday a few of the more regular Vabbi players were a bit irritated to have lost it in such a way with Arbor BL virtually untouched (we were there – there was barely 15 enemies). Since then it’s all just spiralled out of control with each server focusing each other for revenge.

It’s likely too late for either server to catch Arbor at this stage though, and WSR/Vabbi will constantly fight over second. Not played much this morning but the time I was in there WSR’s BL was entirely blue and yet their players were in Vabbi BL

Three way matchups were created for the idea of the stronger being focused by the weak, but it only really works if second doesn’t reward, otherwise people just become content with that and focus the weakest.

it works nicely in theory but don’t forget our servers are still ‘enemies’, neither party is innocent in all this. we hit your garr after arbor garr, out of balance. vabbi has had teams in our border, we’ve had groups in yours. whenever we can come off defense we try and spike an arbor wp or two. it’s just how the 3 way matchup is.

in this matchup i will be focusing on taking second, wsr will need this to not be last in the final rankings.

however, we have vabbi/fow/wsr in a few weeks. if you’re up for some cross-server hand holding we could probably hit fow quite hard.

Oh I’m not suggesting an alliance or anything at all, when it’s the only chance for any enjoyment (for ALL servers really) in a matchup it’s sensible, but ideally avoid anything like that at all costs – it just gets messy. Prioritising one server and being ‘friends’ with another are naturally two very different things When one server is vastly stronger it makes sense for all involved to try and divide the enemy between them, all 3 servers get better fights as a result. Not sure how strong/weak FoW is these days either… I know a few transferred off during leagues (guess where to :P).

Different commanders have different plans really, some will try and hit the server that’s stretched the most, others will try and sneak in and take the attackers stuff while they’re not looking. Most go with the first one as it is less likely to make them a target.

Yesterday we (guild I mean) took some of the T3 stuff in WSR corner of EB – it was owned by Arborstone at the time, we knew that it would probably only take 10minutes for WSR to notice it was no longer T3 and come take it for themselves (which they did :P) and so we’d probably get longer lasting points from the Arbor corner… but similarly the Arbor corner would probably be more defended, and getting WSR into EB may provide alternate pressure on them. It didn’t work out in the end, WSR took the wood stuff then left

Anyway, I digress, the matchup has mostly become “You took our stuff we’ll take yours!” with Arbor getting a free ride in the middle of it, when we could’ve had so much more if people could get past revenge (on all sides). That blue BL has barely been scratched all week, and certainly most Vabbi commanders are preferring WSR BL over Arbor just because they’re cowards and assume it’s easier. Choo choo and all

yeah, by ‘hand holding’ i meant an agreement between guilds, the idea that servers could be allies is ridiculous. the only reason i suggested it is because [historically] fow would be up for it.

just hypothetically if a few guilds got coordinated on fow border [with fow knowing about this happening] we could probably arrange some very interesting wvw. sort of like a no rules gvgvg on an entire borderland. oh, and we would obviously betray you.

i’d normally want to do this with guilds on my server but… there aren’t any.

/edit: Also this morning some vabbi comander talked about building an omega golem in map chat ^^ We were ticking for 450 at that point

It’s kind of funny, the same thing happened in the X/FoW/Vabbi matchups, before random matchups. Instead of teaming up with each other and hitting X a bit we attacked each other. I do personally think it’s better if the two ‘weaker’ (not saying our servers are weak, people had a go at me ingame for saying Vabbi is weak) on the stronger, but not everyone likes that/hears about it etc.

I might have killed their group of three (including two tasty commander warriors) without dropping below 95% health. This prompted them to invite me, ridicule me and report me for hacking.

Quite fun fighting on WSR BL, kiting from one Group to the next and always hoping to shake them off due kiting them through another zerg (worked for Arbor and WSR but more for arbor ^^).

Threads been a bit quiet lately, time to inject some fun!

The ever tactical Arbor Choochoo! WSR spend nearly 2 hours trying to get us out their BL and then Arbor zerg/golem sweep the lot, turning it all nice and wooden again then leave. Just giving WSR free access to keeps. Dumbdumbs!

WSR, when it takes 15 of you 40 minutes to capture a keep with no supply from 3 defenders, laughing afterwards seems a bit pointless. Especially if you then go on to fail to capture the next keep from 2 defenders after an hour. Disappointing to see the tags of a few of them too… clearly recruitment standards are slipping.

Never the less, we had fun defending, so thanks for the entertainment.

’T was funny when we stole redbriar from an unexpecting group of arbor that had more people than us. Also kudos to BNF, nice fighting on WSR BL.

Absolutely, I see less stupid things these days but still a few. My favorites in the past were seeing people building an omega golem under (manned) oil, and commander dropping 3 rams at a wall.

TBH zerging doesn’t bother me that much, made it more tense for that keep defense, I think there are points where it just gets silly but for most part it doesn’t matter. People should learn to accept when they’ve performed badly however, it’s quite remarkable how many more emotes you see after an utterly terrible performance than a good one.

A more important question however would be how many WSR are going to show up for duels/GvG’s! (Nubu says 5 but I’m sure we can Gnome vs Guild for more if required).

it depends, they might not view it as playing ‘badly’, i mean, they technically won, even if it was a 30vs1. the \laugh emote does get used at very odd times though.

that said, i am a fan of kill taunting, if someone doesn’t release they’re asking or it, and anet isn’t making it any easier by taking our golem assistants away

currently i’ve been using /cry on people who don’t release, i feel it’s more respectful then laughing
