Good fights all around today. Hopefully NSP wasn’t too surprised as I popped out from behind the back of Quentin Lake whilst you were holding it off a furious DH horde. I’d been hiding there since IoJ tried to do a sneaky after DH got that wall down; but the commander at the time didn’t want to upset you guys. After that I decided to have a little bit of fun and play with your siege a little – even running up to your lord’s room and seeing what the guys on the AC’s thought of my illusionary swordsman!

Oh yeah, and you guys should really be thankful that we brought the health of those DH omega golems down for you when they took our keep. It cost us a waypoint – but at least you guys didn’t lose yours! :P (Btw DH, I’d totally swear revenge, but sadly I have my last three exams the rest of this week, so I’m completely stressed about other, much less important stuff than wubwub. )

You might want to consider that what you are seeing is a small timeframe of a 24 hour cycle…

ever since summer started I’ve been playing all around the clock really, some times I’ll play all night and sleep all day or vise versa just whatever I’m feeling up to really so yes I know what commanding is like at certain times of the day. But during your NA primetime NSP allllllway’kittens us with DH. It’s a pattern that has happened since reset and I find it hilarious that neither NSP or DH could take any of our keeps tonight even though they were constantly attacking us dividing our forces in 2 and sometimes 3 since DH had enough to form 2 zergs and attack our hills and garri

Yep, your ranger. This was last night (for me, don’t know what your timezone is) in IOJ BL around your northeast camp and tower. In all the weeks we’ve been matched up together, I’ve only seen your guardian a couple times. Ships passing in the night, I guess.

And I agree about being amazed at some peoples’ abilities in WvW/PvP. Maybe this makes me a noob, but it seems like every night there’s a couple people that just blow me away with their reactions or innovation or perception. Tonight it was an asura engi from [Solo]. You beat me straight up, whoever you are. I hope you don’t mind that I ran away before you staked me, but the victory was clearly yours. I’d like to fight you again, though; there’s a few things I’d do differently next time. PM me if you’re ineterested, I’m usually available if I’m not doing something important and I’m always looking to learn.

PS, IOJ: You came into this matchup with the highest ranking. Congratulations, welcome to first place. Get used to having two servers aiming at you.

A furious small man group hopping walls that havent had gates drop in 6 or so hours (So no mesmer could possibly be there) and storming a Lord and taking fully upgraded keeps is totally a gentlemans engagement? In/and around 60 seconds or so?

The only reason DH has a single bit of respect from anyone is not just your population (the few most noted guilds that give us good fights), but that every time someone posts proof here to the other servers….Mods delete the entire posts instead of doing something about it. No one sees it. Until they play against you.

This matchup I haven’t seen the same old crazy AC range DH was notoriously abusing in our past matchups. I don’t know if that’s from Anet doing something about it, or from DH policing up their own servers. Either way. It’s great to no longer see it. But the third party stuff needs a fix. It’s happened more than once this match. And I’m sure any form of proof has been forwarded off to where it needs to be sent.

If we don’t handle it amongst ourselves we’re going to end up with some 3rd party false-positive ban hammering nonsense like Punkbuster.

If you know people are doing it, report them. No matter what server they’re on.

Aside from that minor rant, that probably wont be here the next time I check the forums, it’s been a heck of a match. Loads of fun. Even more fun than when DR was here instead of NSP. But IoJ smashed them into third proper like not too long ago. NSP you guys are a respectable opponent. Good games so far, best of luck until friday.

An entire server isn’t to blame for the actions of a few. But it’d be cool if we could all enter match ups knowing it was based on skills alone. Not downloaded assistance if you will.

We talking about the same thing? We found you all on the 3rd floor and wiped you up there. You may have backed off in that 3way but you had to bust into SM again. We ended up leaving it relatively undefended when DH started taking our corner after that. I’m sorry but I believe you are quite mistaken.

Also, NSP doesn’t care who we hit, especially since we are in 3rd. The entire time I was in EB today we only hit DH, and tried to hit them hard. We never play for 2nd. We play to have a good time. In fact, a lot of times it looks like IoJ is playing for second, taking up scraps and advantage of us after DH has us backed into a corner. The problem with that thinking though is thakittens a small section of time on the field. Whenever I’m in, I’ve only seen us hit IoJ once. I’ve seen IoJ hit us plenty of times though. Are you guys playing for second? Of course not. You are hitting DH and NSP, just like we are hitting both DH and IoJ

NSP never plays for second. We love the tough fight, and don’t care who its against.

I’ve yet to see the HOES bros. Or maybe I have and it was a weekend so I was well faded. But I will say with pleasure, that it’s always fun having an equal numbered skirmish with some PD bros. You guys don’t know when to die. And I’m pretty sure our pugs know that by now….which might explain why they run. :P

Clearly we play during entirely different timezones. From NA primetime, until right before the Oceanics got on IoJ we were battling DH from our BL, their BL, and EB. The only big groups hitting NSP most of the time are randoms out to flip camps. IoJ doesn’t play for second. We play to win.

I can assure you the same thing that I assured DR. If there wasn’t a server with close to double our populations….things would be entirely different. DR didn’t think so, and we put them in third as we took first. The bigger server of the three is more worried about ending up anywhere else in the ranking than any of the servers. Clearly that isn’t IoJ or NSP in this match, and you can check the match updates by the hour to see who’kittenting your server the most. It isn’t IoJ my friend. We’re not playing for anything other than to win…

We know that if DH isn’t kept in check they’d have a 100k lead on us by Wednesday. So why would we farm NSP for second when we can farm DH for legit points/badges/AND keep them from having an insane blow out score? We wouldn’t. And we don’t. I can’t speak for the pugs….there’s always going to be randoms doing whatever they want to do. No one can control that lot.

tl;dr~ I’ve never in my daily 4-6+ hour weekday or 12+hour weekend wvw sprees ever seen someone say “Uh oh, we need some points. Lets go hit whoever is in third place’s BL, take their stuff in EB & bank on that for points”. Never. It’s get what’s ours back, and thoroughly punish whoever is most responsible for farming us for points. No one gets to first by sitting in second and picking on third place. Think about it.

I can empathize with you here. While I haven’t noticed any of the third party hacks (I’m usually lagging anyway thanks to my bad internet), I am quite suspicious that there are some players in this match up using Modified Twilight hacks. Unfortunately, I have not gathered any evidence myself, but will do so next time I see anything suspicious.

You misunderstand me (apologies, I’m on my phone). I actually agree with you. I merely was giving a counter argument to the accusation of NSP playing for second. I have nothing but respect for IoJ. I’ve seen you hit both DH and us. Today the only time I saw you hit is was at QL. You focused a lot on DH today in EB. So did we.

I don’t know if it a perception issue but when I’m online NSP always pushed on number one. Like yesterday with Smitry we pushed kitten Veloka then you guys attacked us on QL. I played yesterday all night in EB and we only spent time on the winning server side of the map. Only time I was on LoJ side was after we pushed you out of SM gate then we left.

NSP doesn’t have the man power to hold SM but we really love taking it down even more when it’s tier 3.

You were the sylvari mesmer at the ruins, right? If so, great fight, that one went on for quite a while and was the most fun 1v1 of the night for me. I had alot of help from that wall in the ruins for LOS.

I normally run support/heals on my norn engi for our SPCA groups, but if you see me on the asura running my SOLO tag, flag me down and we can go another few rounds. I’m pretty sure I’ll see you out there again sometime.

Why not take DH’s stuff then head to their BL and wipe it green as well. IoJ is untouchable in your statements because if we hit you guys we are the weaklings trying to play for 2nd. Honestly I see one thing. A sad soul upset that they can’t beat DH and looking for someone to blame. Of course WE are the weaker server (rofl) so we become an easy target. Problem is we have proven ourselves time and again. Ask DH whom it seems like we have a destiny to be together for a while if they were surprised they didn’t roll us easily. We unfortunately do not have the coverage to hold or take like you guys can.

I’ll make you guys a deal. At 12:00AM pacific time all go to bed and tell your oceanic crew to not cap anything and we will see who ends up in 2nd. Point is that is why you guys even have a lead on us so quit kittening and play the game.

When we log our BL gets flipped by like 10 dudes. NSP and IoJ have done this to us before many times. I am not crying. This is WvWvW. Everyone that has played long enough has felt like they were being double teamed or focused at some point. It is not like we all aren’t low ranking servers we have all felt that way before. I know I did when we faced servers like AR,BP, DB ect.

EB has always been fair game for our oceanics, if they can flip everything, they will flip everything!
Crimmys talking about in general, if we have people we’re more likely to go hit DHs corner or DHs borderlands. Alliances will never work in WvW, theres just the logic of attacking the strongest server over the weaker! Just so you know we’re only trying to make this matchup more fun rather than 2 servers battling it out for second and the 3rd server getting a massive lead! Imagine how much closer the scores would be if we (IoJ and NSP) focused DH more?

EDIT: Also, like i tried explaining to DR, our oceanics are not the ONLY reason as to why we get so many points/get the lead.

Yup that was probably me, I was doing a bunch of testing in spvp/tpvp on the build I am currently using.

So…NSP just shot themselves in the foot for the rest of the week.

IOJ is all about fighting the stronger opponent, and hopefully getting some help from the other smaller opponent (in this case, NSP)

About 30 minutes ago we had stonemist, and were patiently waiting for DH to come for it. We happily watched while NSP sacked towers we took like OW, vel, etc, and cheered for ‘em while they sacked DH’s map to oblivion.

NSP tried a sucker punch on SM, but it got deflected. No harm, no foul, really.

Bout…an hour? Later. NSP successfully sucker punch/bumrush paper gates on SM and take it out from under us, probably about 30 mins before DH had the #’s and towers ready to take SM (they were still trebbing from keep, etc)

We attempted a rage golem rush on your keep, which failed, kudos. And kudos on the SM ninja. But you just screwed yourself for the rest of the week, and more or less made it go from "challenging and fun to “wtf double team wtf bullkitten ioj” ’cause you wanted to go for “lol cherry pick.”

Think before you ninja. A lot of people were angry and asking me to storm blue when I tagged up, and by the time I tagged down, I’m ready to go full-out blood feud with a bunch of cherry-picking idiots who just ruined the next few days for their server.

post-rage edit this is directed at the dudes who went for the sucker punches. There ARE some wise commanders on NSP…yesterday there was a beautiful double team on DH at ogrewatch, really glorious stuff. You might wanna talk to your other commanders about the consequences about the “easy target” though…‘cause it’s about to cost you.

We attempted a rage golem rush on your keep, which failed, kudos. And kudos on the SM ninja. But you just screwed yourself for the rest of the week, and more or less made it go from "challenging and fun to “wtf double team wtf bullkitten ioj” ’cause you wanted to go for “lol cherry pick.”

Think before you ninja. A lot of people were angry and asking me to storm blue when I tagged up, and by the time I tagged down, I’m ready to go full-out blood feud with a bunch of cherry-picking idiots who just ruined the next few days for their server.

There ARE some wise commanders on NSP…yesterday there was a beautiful double team on DH at ogrewatch, really glorious stuff. You might wanna talk to your other commanders about the consequences about the “easy target” though…‘cause it’s about to cost you.

If it’s an easy target, we’re going to go for it. You did it to us at QL yesterday! Nobody was there to watch it and you just slipped by and took it. It was fully upgraded and everything. You took advantage of the fact that nobody was paying attention. Is that bad? No, it’s smart.

I was reeeeeaalllly kitten ed for the half hour afterwards, but I got over it. Why? It’s WvWvW.

So don’t tell us that you don’t attack us, because you do. Taking STONEMIST, of all things, is not something that you should be complaining about. Whose territory is it in? Nobody’s. It’s neutral territory.

Of course, but you gotta understand there’s consequences to hitting the “wrong” server. There’s two reasons I don’t hit other small server:

1. it’s hard enough fighting off the big server, dealing with retaliation, hell DH can’t handle both of us 24/7.

2. I normally don’t hold grudges, but everyone has their breaking point. A lot of other people on IoJ reached theirs, I reached mine today. DH give us enough fights, double teaming brings stress. You stress us out, we’ll go stress you out

I’ve only been on NSP for about a month. I came from Maguuma, was there since release. Transfered to NSP for smaller, less zergy play. Even though we don’t win, I’m really loving it. It feels more like a tight-knit server, especially in EB. XP

So you might have seen my lil’ rant on the other thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/IOJ-stop-cherry-picking-SF/first#post2043413 so with lots of begging and pleading and general hissy fit’ing around several IOJ commanders let me know they’d also prefer to put the pressure on DH when we’re able to instead of SF.

I’m inviting SF to do the same. Frankly i think if both servers kinda just redirected their torches and pitchforks torwards DH whenever possible, next week should be a lot more interesting.

I know how it goes—not everyone’s gonna know about this, not everyone’s gonna listen, or care, or maybe they’re just happier doin’ their own thing. That’s fine. All i’m asking is plz direct your nut-punching energy towards DH and not each other most of the time.

As of this post I know of about 4-5 other IoJ commanders that are regulars that are agreeing to it. Should shake up next week pretty good

edit and if some SF commanders wouldn’t mind talkin’ to me in-game or whatnot, i’ll try to relay stuff to other commanders as much as possible. And just to clarify this isn’t gonna be like…planned operations or using the same teamspeak or any of that funky kitten…just a general mindset of “let’s both punch DH in the kitten”

Ah, memories……

Sigh… I hate forum wars and people calling each other out on stuff in game. IoJ is a very philosophical server, we believe in a fair and equal fights with a VERY close point spread. Typically we pick a side (normally the largest side) and try to pound it down so that the points stay even and don’t turn into a blow out. IoJ commanders will get flustered when the side they choose to ignore starts undermining the efforts of IoJ in keeping the points close to even.

The understanding in keeping the points even is to prevent moral issues in blowout matches (100k point leads are a sign of no recovery) and keep people from think the match is hopeless. Keeping the moral high on our server IS a must or we start to slide as numbers start to dwindle and some of the hardcore WvWers leave out of frustration in a numbers game.

In honesty if IoJ and NSP ganged up on DH and managed to shove DH to second place, I don’t know what we can do to not make us look like jerks. I know when we fought DR we beat them down as much as we can and assisted SF to second place because it would just add insult to injury to DR. I personally don’t want humiliate any one server this match and I don’t care who comes in first as long as the points are close.

I am ok if NSP takes some of IoJ’s camps or even towers but if you see Orange Swords in our corner and it’s not you, please don’t come over and yank the carpet out from under us. That’s a good way to tick off our commanders and start a meaningless blood feud over and demoralize both sides troops and resources.

I hope this does not get me shot on the battle field and makes some sense…
