This is fun for you!? Come on it’s been like 25 minutes now and you all are just sitting there. 1 treb and a foritified wall? Surely there’s something better to do with that time.
Oh kitten, looks like they are closing in on my spy account.
Next time you cheat, at least take the tower LOL
This is your first week in WvW isn’t it?

I wouldn’t be laughing too hard, if I manage to get run off this server DR is destination #1 so you’ll have to deal with me there. ;D

It is sad when the forums are more interesting than the actual game. Usually GOM and IOJ provide the DRBL regulars with some excitement and I am sorry to see this week has been so quiet.

While it is great to see that HARD and CORE have come a long way in that last few months and are actually decently coordinated, there is a lot more to the game than portal bombs and might stacks that IoJ misses by not having any small to medium size roaming groups that actually require more than pressing 1 to win. Despite DDLG having the equivalent 30-40 man potential zergs, their core 10-20 members have had a lot of experience running with smaller groups and roaming, which makes them a lot more of a threat than just their numbers alone. Defend your zergs all you want and continue to think that small group/roaming gives nothing to WvW, but if you actually care about being more than just a might stacking zergball than you will see there is a lot more to the game. I really dont care about points so don’t think this post has anything to do with DR losing. I, and a huge majority of DR, just wants to see some good fights, and this week has been everything but that.
Also cheers on the win GoM, and IoJ giving us 25 ppt.

Won’t be on again before reset, so wanted to say congrats GoM on the win. After playing against you guys the last couple weeks, you seem like a nice, chill bunch. Best of luck with the roll and match this coming week.
DR, a close match-up, thanks for some memorable fights this week. Cheers.

Sitting on a treb for 30 minutes? Nope. Having 20 people knock down your garri’s WG while you are focused intently on the wall that is getting trebbed? Yes. And it was especially fun to take your longest-held asset in WvW at the time.
I almost felt bad for you all though. If you all got pushed out of EB, I would assume all your WvWers would be in DR BL. Looks like they just left, though. What happened? Normally DR defends their BL with the ferocity of a mother bear and her cubs.
Next time you cheat, at least take the tower LOL

Well, it is a legitimate statement. That tower was held for hours when that screenshot was taken. So unless DDLG and TRON had a really, really dedicated person in that tower that chose not to reveal themselves until DR was knocking on the gate . . .

So many things wrong with this. CORE is hardly a month old. When we fought you, we didn’t use a portal bomb once last night. We do stack might, but I guess you don’t see the other things we do, such as veil / flank, focus AoE on a group of clumped up enemies, strike and regroup for another strike, etc because we don’t have elitist kittens posting videos about it along with audio commentary. The only time we just mow over you is if you have no chance. If there’s a possibility of losing, we add another layer of coordination. You can’t tell me we used numbers alone to hit you all when you were in our BL.
And you had plenty of good fights. You just don’t consider them “good” because you lost the majority of them. Oh, and thanks, we wanted to make sure your BL had some excitement.

Well, once all of us in DR BL heard you got through the first gate, we all hopped over. You know, you’re not the only GoM that “zoidbergs” out. If you all stood your ground more often, I’m sure you’d give us a good wipe every now and then .

Wow! GoM needs to wall hack Klovan even though they are winning and got 3 trebs hitting it from SM. Just WOW! I hope ANET check our report on that mesmer.
And yeah it is a Zombieland guild member. Tsk! Tsk! Shame on you!
I didnt want to say anything so it woudn’t cause drama so late in this match up and get us all ticked off at each other, but yes this is not the first time they did. When i was commanding a mesmer i believe from Zombie land or with [Obon] tags glitched into klovan and portaled ppl in… They had plenty of mesmers in that group so dont know who was the one doing it, I do know that mostly had [Wvw] tags.
Please note that I am not trying to insult or be disrespectful to GOM as a server since I have plenty of respect for you guys, this was just a specific groupd exploiting a paper tower… Either way, it should not be done.
I am not that active these past week because I am trying to regain my lost golds in WvW by playing PvE.
I only post what I think are lame actions from our opponents. It’s just frustrating that I was on treb for more than 40 minutes and suddenly after 5 minutes of recapturing Klovan here comes the mesmer cheater and portalled everyone in and retook the tower. It’s obviously organized and a lot knows what is going on.
I’ll own up to this. I was the [Obon] mesmer who got in. I was just dinking around with two [WvW] guys and got stuck in the wall. Figured I got in, I could get out and sure enough I did. It wasn’t a planned event seeing as I have never even done such a thing (other than being killed while inside other walls from a glitched phase retreat). There was no plan to it and I acted alone.

Hey everyone, [roam]’s had a great match up so far. Hopefully it has been a pleasure fighting us.
In particular I’d like to make a shout out to the female [RICH] ranger in the screenshot attached – you made my day. First you laugh and dance on us as you wipe us with a zerg of 15 (we’re 3 players, just to clarify), and then when we return (still the same 3 as before) and wipe your RELM buddies, you run in to SM and hit us from the wall. Now I have absolutely nothing against your RELM colleagues – in fact, they were honourable enough not to run away in to SM when it was clear we had destroyed your 6ish players. I even attempted to add one of them to the party in order to appologise for our laughing. He declined, which is understandable, but hopefully he reads this and understands.
Just to clarify, our spam laugh was purely aimed at you, not your buddies. You’re dirt. You’re a terrible player. And most of all, you’re a coward. I guess you just can’t deal with zerg babbies like you with reason.
P.S. Your build is terrible, and even hitting us from the SM wall, you had no impact on our health bars. Time to re-think it.
P.P.S. The rest of RICH has my utmost respect. I’ve fought a mesmer, and that guy was extremely tough, and a lot of fun.
P.P.P.S Jimmies rightfully rustled.

So its their fault for getting annoyed with someone whos attitude and actions fit directly into the defintion of a “brat”.
Two of GoMs most prevalent gif spammers take The Gate of Madness server name just a little too serious.
No its their fault for getting worked up over a video game, nothing i’ve done has resulted in the lose of territory, cant say that much when it comes to zombieland can we?
As for the first sentence could say the same of your other half.

Flanking is part of moving well and being coordinated, I already said that you guys do that, and I know you personally did portal bomb at least one last night because I personally killed you after you did at garrison.
The point I am trying to make is that your group play is great, it is your individual player skill and builds that are severely lacking. The few times that the 6 man group I was running last night managed to actually separate 10-15 of your players, they lost all their coordination and wiped in seconds. The problem is that if all your group does is run 30+ strong they will never learn their individual strengths and weaknesses, which means when you actually fight a group of the same size that has better individual player strength, you will lose.
Also don’t try and assume that I am shallow enough to judge a fight based on whether I win or lose, some of the best fights I’ve had in this game have been those I’ve inevitably lost. However regardless of winning or losing there is no possible way for a 6v30 to be a good fight.

To DR as a whole:
Siege (including ACs and Ballis) is a mechanic of WvW. If you don’t like it, go to sPvP. My goal isn’t to have a glorious charge with nothing but an even or outnumbered zerg against my enemies. My goal is to win / make others lose. So, why would I stop using siege on you all when it kills you & caps your assets more efficiently than banging my face against you? Isn’t that also something you complain about (PvDooring)? Don’t act like you all don’t take advantage of WvW mechanics in an effort of “fairness”.
This.
Basically, half of the criticisms in these threads can be boiled down to something like this:
Q: “Why don’t you fight in a way more advantageous to me?”
Correct answer: “Lol. No.”

Problem is that it’s supposed to be the side that is outnumbered that needs to use the advantage of keeps, towers, guards, and siege to even out the fight. Not the other way around.
Of course, it’s always funny when the side with numbers uses all of that stuff but still loses the fight anyway.

There’s a fun aspect of open field combat with no siege to weigh down a side. It wouldn’t bother people so much if you didn’t do it every time. However every single fight zerg on zerg you guys flash build siege like clockwork, first thing you do. It just gets old after a while, and when our only move is to change positions away from your siege it is frustrating. Nobody likes staring at each other for 15 minutes awaiting a fight that takes 30 seconds.
There aren’t any roaming groups interested in even fights, and when we go to your BL looking for enemies every single player is balled up tight on the commander, and you choose to waypoint instead of fight. I understand that is the tactic the game mechanics suggest and we even use them sometimes. It’s just the total dislike of open field combat that IoJ has, it brings boring fights and a boring matchup.
I understand it’s a PPT game, but surely we can’t be the only ones who like large scale open field combat.

I’ve noticed that a lot in IoJ. I love to roam solo or with 1-2 others I happen to hook up with. It seems like each of our engagements go like this. 2-3 guys find me (or the two of us if I’m with someone) and they either attack just to run or simply run off the bat. Once they have 2+ on siege at their tower, they must call out for help as another 2-3 will show. A few of those may actually come out to fight, but all the while we are dancing around the siege. Finally 10+ will suddenly show and it’s either run looking to spread them out or we get wiped (if we don’t see them in time).
Just today, me and two other pugs (so that’s 3 of us GoM) were just north of your EB keep. Around 3 guys would come out and engage us just to turn and run. So, 3 more show and take up positions on the cannons and a treb. Now it’s 6v3 with 3 guys on siege and 3 sitting on their bridge for NPC support. Finally another 6 join in, making it 12v3 with three of their guys on siege just to take us down.
I know I can be a tough memser to take down, but it is more people need to grow a back bone so they can learn. If I die, I just run right back to the fight as it is just another part of the game.

You talk like DR was in IoJ BL looking for an open field fight. Let’s be honest: DR was there to flip objectives for PPT, so complaining about the lack of an open field fight rings very hollow. If IoJ went there to stop you, they’re in a much better position than you to say they were looking for a fight (because they knew where DR was), even though they honestly were probably there for PPT too.
If both sides felt they had an advantage fighting in the open field, then the fight would’ve happened. But if one side doesn’t, then it doesn’t happen. So in that context, your criticism is basically that they didn’t fight you when they think they’re at a disadvantage. To which, the response of “why the kitten would I do that?” was appropriate.
If you really think that it would have been a fair fight and IoJ didn’t, then you should take that as a compliment and move on.

If you really think that it would have been a fair fight and IoJ didn’t, then you should take that as a compliment and move on.
I haven’t been trying for PPT at all in IoJ BL because we haven’t cared about PPT all week. When I went there this week I was roaming for small fights with [Bags] guild.
The first part of my post about IoJ hating open field fights refers to everywhere in WvW, not just your map. On all the maps you use the same tactics. Man siege until you have at least twice their numbers, then finally push out. It just brings a boring matchup so that’s why DR doesn’t like IoJ, Because the matchup is boring. We proved we could beat IoJ last time around, however it took immense work from DDLG holding down your borderlands, and to us that just isn’t much fun. We like the fights, we play for the fights. It’s an aspect of WvW that we enjoy, and when PvDooring keeps gets boring we’d rather have open field fights. It seems IoJ is strictly PPT oriented, and won’t develop better individual skill if they keep that up.
To the obon mesmer, you’re a tough fight, I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s noticed IoJ’s “Our zerg is greater than your zerg” tactics.

There aren’t any roaming grsoups interested in even fights, and when we go to your BL looking for enemies every single player is balled up tight on the commander, and you choose to waypoint instead of fight. I understand that is the tactic the game mechanics suggest and we even use them sometimes. It’s just the total dislike of open field combat that IoJ has, it brings boring fights and a boring matchup.
I understand it’s a PPT game, but surely we can’t be the only ones who like large scale open field combat.

I only left in your response what was relevant.
You do it because it is challenging. Because it takes skill. Because it is rewarding to beat people who outnumber you.
It’s not that hard to grasp.
