Typical PuG warriors just tend to turn on the afterburners and run away thanks to this new Warrior meta now… I can’t count how many times I’ve had warriors run away from fights after things looked bad since then. I guess I’ll have to make a chase build on my thief to counter them.

Not a duel we agreed on, just a random encounter. Neither an ambush as he could clearly see me approach. It’s just not my style to finish someone off in such a situation, although i guess most people do.

Not a duel we agreed on, just a random encounter. Neither an ambush as he could clearly see me approach. It’s just not my style to finish someone off in such a situation, although i guess most people do.

I appreciate your sportsmanship. Some people won’t. Keep coming back for more and I’m sure you will find people you enjoy fighting.

But I do have mad respect for RH, very annoying and good pvpers. And we can’t use a 15 man pug group to take your 15. You guys use combo fields, stealths, and portals properly. So most of the time we do need the numbers advantage. Of course when GoM does face an organized force from our side, they generally get rolled.

Yaks bend has lost a majority of their ‘organized’ guilds. There are only a few remaining that run 15+ people, and that’s generally at night time for around 2 – 3 hours tops. So yes, PUGS will always lose vs organized groups and would need the numbers to succeed that of the organized guild. You are facing a server full of PvE and PUGs.

So far I’ve had a great time in this matchup. a lot of really decent small skirmishes all over all the maps, aside from the huge zerg action generally going on around SM.
Oh and sorry again to that Mesmer I met near SM. I wish I could have just kept talking to you but the other people on my server seemed intent on killing you. Hopefully we’ll run into eachother again without so many hostile people around.

I beg to differ, yesterday an organized Kain guild, which I can’t remember, make it through Hills N gate in Yak’s BL, I was rolling with my mesmer and as soon as they broke in I followed them…. like if i was one more person in their zerg, they went on the right wall, where you can place catapults, when they stopped I casted all my shatter skills with clones and somehow they drew back, I was able to spread a lot of damage, after that they went to the left side on top of N outer gate I had a chance to use curtain to pull 5 people from the wall and most of them were heavy classes letting us finish most of their forces while others were trying to come back 1 person is able to do a lot of damage against well organized groups if you seize every opportunity you have.

As well I was rolling on my thief yesterday, I don’t if it was GoM or Kain, they were sitting on top of SW camp entrance, as we were running over there I was able to jump in the middle of their zerg and cast Whirling Axe (Steal Skill), omg so much fun, they were all confused and couldn’t see where the damage was coming from so they drew back down behind the entrance XD zergs are very easy to scare!

I got the biggest compliment while chilling on Kaineng’s BL today. After I dueled with a pleasant Yaks ele (who we agreed was a draw), I sat outside the south camp and just relaxed for a bit while some of her server mates took the camp. Once they finished several saw me and passed by as I obviously was just sitting there with my kite (plus we even acknowledged each other with some waves). Unfortunately 5 of them (1-2 were uplevels) decided to jump me. I say unfortunately but it was more for them. I wiped them clean but they came back to the camp shortly afterward. At which point they wouldn’t leave the camp towards me (who was still sitting on the western edge with my kite) and then decided to build a ballista. I couldn’t help but laugh with my guildies in guild chat over this. Now that is what I call respect. A lone mesmer keeps 4 guys in a camp plus them making siege to try and hit you.

Also a great shout out to our mini 5-man pug gang who played havoc on the Kaineng BL earlier today. Flipping several towers (including Dawn twice) in the process.

I can only speak for myself, but i am thankful for a week without an elephant like DB or SoS with us in the match-up (or someone with the terrible manners of Maguuma). I think all servers in this match-up are actually enjoying it and taking it somewhat easier this week (correct me if i am wrong, GoM and Kain). The match-up is kinda like this thread, no drama. Maybe more like recharging batteries this week, and i’ve seen quite the number of uplevels on Yaks side. And GoM is actually playing well, yes.

When you can get away from the Trolly Supply Bunker Campers (TWIN mostly) and the roaming thieves o’ stealthy stealthiness, it’s not too bad.

GoM has become a well oiled fighting force of no fewer than 6,000 Pugs at any given time that are both vastly kittened, and malleable. So despite being handicapped, we can typically respond and cover a target like a blanket. (See attached)

I’d like to answer your third and fourth questions out of turn here, starting with the fourth. Many moons ago, a server called FC was forged in the fires of the Dredge. The dredge, not knowing what they had done, sent it out into the world because it was lame and useless. That server had a secret power that the dredge couldn’t have surmised: They were secretly mighty Keyboard Warriors. GoM set out in T8 to defeat them, and week after week they rightfully did so. Smashing FC faces into the pavement much like a cholo would someone owing him money. But, they kept coming back. For an eternity, GoM waged a Holy War against the Dark Forces of ET and many of those were consumed by the Madness. They became what they had been named for. They were Gates. They were Mad.

As for why GoM is in close competition with Kaineng, we never were a T8 quality server. We have always deserved 5-6 ranking even when Zombie Losers were on our server. But the RNG hated us, or so we thought. We found back in an old library in Old Lion’s Arch,in a chest, a book, well preserved and untouched by the water. It was written in Old Canthan, and it took many of our greatest scholars months to decipher its text. But, we discovered it was called “Pwning Noobs” by Sum Ting Wong, who would famously go on to fly an air plane. GoMs commanders have transcribed and studied this book tirelessly. In our fits of Madness we have even channeled Sum Ting Wong and written new chapters. Some of them fittingly titled, some of them just smears of fecal matter across an kitteneep that were then lithographed into a book. Why you might ask? Why not? Would you not lithograph fecal smears?

Just thought I’d drop into this thread. WTF is going on in Tier 5? Why is Gates of Madness not a smear on the pavement? For that matter, why are they within a hairs breath of passing Kaineng and in competition with Yaks? Are you guys taking the week off or has the Madness gone all Sparta?

First, we here at GoM work tirelessly day in and day out to manicure, pedicure, maintain, and otherwise ‘show our our troops some love’ If you know what I mean. GoM has become a well oiled fighting force of no fewer than 6,000 Pugs at any given time that are both vastly kittened, and malleable. So despite being handicapped, we can typically respond and cover a target like a blanket. (See attached)

I’d like to answer your third and fourth questions out of turn here, starting with the fourth. Many moons ago, a server called FC was forged in the fires of the Dredge. The dredge, not knowing what they had done, sent it out into the world because it was lame and useless. That server had a secret power that the dredge couldn’t have surmised: They were secretly mighty Keyboard Warriors. GoM set out in T8 to defeat them, and week after week they rightfully did so. Smashing FC faces into the pavement much like a cholo would someone owing him money. But, they kept coming back. For an eternity, GoM waged a Holy War against the Dark Forces of ET and many of those were consumed by the Madness. They became what they had been named for. They were Gates. They were Mad.

As for why GoM is in close competition with Kaineng, we never were a T8 quality server. We have always deserved 5-6 ranking even when Zombie Losers were on our server. But the RNG hated us, or so we thought. We found back in an old library in Old Lion’s Arch,in a chest, a book, well preserved and untouched by the water. It was written in Old Canthan, and it took many of our greatest scholars months to decipher its text. But, we discovered it was called “Pwning Noobs” by Sum Ting Wong, who would famously go on to fly an air plane. GoMs commanders have transcribed and studied this book tirelessly. In our fits of Madness we have even channeled Sum Ting Wong and written new chapters. Some of them fittingly titled, some of them just smears of fecal matter across an kitteneep that were then lithographed into a book. Why you might ask? Why not? Would you not lithograph fecal smears?
