Why can't we have one of these!?
We already have the golems in terms of mobile vehicle warfare, its just completely wasted in terms of potential. Adding tanks would just add more wasted potential because it’d have to be expensive and boring by design not to upset the “balance” of static siege being much cheaper, much stronger and spammable in any direction.
You’d have to change the siege completely for it to work. But its never going to happen. Anet doesnt have to suffer a rain of 10 arrowcarts on their way to the bank so they dont care.

It doesn’t have to be designed as a “seige weapon” for just walls or doors, but you could also think of it as an anti-personel seige weapon for zergs, like ACs but mobile, but it could also only be place outside of keeps and towers, so’s to balance that piece of seige out. Think of it as a “First line breacher”
(And again, “constructive” critisisms. I know perfectly well the idea would be a shot in the dark, but I’d like to think of ways this COULD work for WvW)
It could replace the model for Siegerazer, or the Legendary Defenders, without much effort – though that won’t add any more to the gameplay, it would add to the immersion.
I like the idea actually, make it like a mobile tower. make it super slow and ooc into the tank in a zerg fight. Give it a cannon maybe, but that might make it pretty op. I’d make it as slow as golems, and inhibit the ability to speed up or warp with mes portal. It’d be an interesting mechanic to try at least.
The tank idea could work, and be potentially awesome for coordinated assaults, since you could essentially have 1 person piloting the tank, and depending on how many turrets / cannons it has on it, a person manning each turret. Plus anyone sitting inside the vehicle’s bay waiting to deploy to attack.

I like that idea. Siegerazor is kind of lame to begin with. Having this beast of machinery break out could make a very interesting spectacle.

All we really need is for superior rams to give constant aoe iron hide. Something akin to the rams used in the dark ages that had a roof to protect the operators from above.
I think there would be problems with the landscape engine. It is not very good at collision detection thus the tank would get stuck in a variety of places and corners
Let alone the mas are far too tiny to accommodate anything the size of Char war-machines.
You could walk from one keep to the next inside such a thing.
Playing through the game, there is a portion where the tanks are used in Orr. The easiest way to convert to wvw would be something similar. In short, use the same mechanics as cannons for the tank’s turrets then use the same mechanic as a ram/alpha golem if hitting a gate. They were also about the speed of an alpha golem. It would be a mobile offense/defense unit, of course it could be abused as well, but that’s my idea.
The saga of your life is a summation of the choices you make.

Main reason is – there is no collusion detection in GW2. People would go through the big tanks or hide inside their models. Golems work since they are bipedal, and biggest part of model is on higher heigth than character height.
There is collision detection. It is client-side and called “melee assist”. Would be a fundamental change to wvw fights if it were locked to “on” and the ability to disable it were taken away.
