Orcommander.5481 u have inspired me to start using hammer on ur first video (where u fought a guardian in the end and u couldn’t kill each other). even though i’v never used ur build, i have to thank u for showing me the hammer power.

I still don’t get,whats the point of this ,or using other peoples build ? You want to see 100 ppl running around with the same builds ? You are to lazy to try out different builds yourself and do not want the experienced gained from trying it all out yourself ? Honestly,i am wondering,why.

he’s just asking for some tips. my build started by reading this forum. now i modify it once in a while.

we are just putting light on the dark.

my hammer build. i use it for wvw:

there are some comments in the link. read it.

good points about that build:
fury up 100% of the time.
over 50% critical chance due to fury and 25 stacks of +10 precision with the sigil.
over 3400 armor when using a shield, over 3350 armor when the hammer is equipped
over 27k hp
near 3k attack without might boons. but u will have might up 100% of the time.
shouts still heal 1.5k hp.

tip: always switch to ur warhorn to try to keep swiftness 100% of the time up. which u could keep up if shield wasn’t more important in battles.

things u can change:
endure pain in the utility skill. u can get balanced stance instead.
missile deflection trait V. u could get embrace the pain trait I.
mending healing skill for healing signet.

any changes will depend on ur situation. my main configuration is on the link.

we can’t attack properly any tower or keep because of that. we can’t put any siege weapon down except for golems.

in which situations should this happen?
i hope it’s a bug, and i hope this will be fixed before our server loses the match.

that’s what happens when you only use 1 number (1 dimension) to base your conclusions on.
if they were using about 3 simple calculations to indicate the server strength, things could be smoother.

just take a look at http://mos.millenium.org/matchups/#EU (copy and paste if it doesn’t work) and try to guess which servers should be matched and why. you can create a algorithm for that.

too much calculation for a simple game ranking system.

the ranking system should, at least, be able to move recent strong wvw servers up in the rank faster. servers like desolation will keep crushing their opponents until they reach tier 1 to get an equal wvw match.

last week eredon terrace lost the wvw badly. it was 3rd. this week it will be 3rd again. just because they’v won some wvw’s doesn’t means they’re still tier 2.

you guys wanna make warriors viable in wvw just like a knight was an important soldier in a battlefield 1000 years ago in middle age?
tell me who could fight a heavy armored knight with a great sword in both hands?
is this game: a dude with 2 knives kill this warrior in 2 seconds, a dude with cotton armor could have enough toughness to make a long fight and even win, a dude with a bow raises roots from the ground and spam arrows in his chest, another dude gets invisible in the middle of a battlefield (just like houdini in front of a crowd).
also, in real word theres something called friendly fire, which is completely nonexistent in this game.

cmon, this game is pretty far from making wvw viable for melee gameplay.
stefanplc is right. if we don’t want to change the other professions, we need to improve the defense skills of the warrior.
i wouldn’t even change the endure pain cool down. my suggestion is: make shield stance only block attacks in front, none from behind, let it have 0 (zero) cool down, makes you walk slower and be activated during button pressing (as long as you shield 5 is pressed, you are blocking attacks in your front, that’s all). (maybe give it a progressive cool down, where the more you use, the longer you will need to wait).
this will let warriors help to push their teams forward and stay in the front, the place a heavy armored melee should be. (this could also be extended to guardians)

one thing i noticed.
if u activate frenzy right after hundred blades (even almost at the same time), the quickness won’t apply to this skill. frenzy wont apply in a skill being played.
ok ok. i know what i have to do… but shouldn’t be like this, quickness should work on the skill ur already casting. also, what about the sigil that gives quickness, i never tested but maybe it has the same problem. if the sigil work in the middle of a hundread blades, nothing will happen.

Thief and Warriors

Um. Isn’t that kind of normal?
Thieves are supposed to be better at 1v1 than a Warrior. That’s basically their whole game, being better at taking out single targets.

1 vs 1? they kill 2 even alone.

He has 13k HP…. and no toughness….

Hes not specced for dodging….

He has no survivability…

He will probably die instantly when focused…

13k hp? not specced for dodging? no survivability? die instatly?

Warrior class is poorly designed and forces you into specific specs/stats to be relevant.

100% agreed.
i believe most of our problems come from the skills bugs.
as a professions that needs to get exposed in order to hit some1 significantly (i mean stay at the front), our skills and traits shouldn’t fail us. as they do, we die.

“shelve your warrior. Give it a couple months and see if things improve and if they don’t, move on.”

yea, sounds like the best we can do for now.

reviver’s might, 3rd fixed trait skill in tactics, has a mesmer icon. all fixed trait skill should have the corresponding profession icon, right?

one thing i noticed.

Utility skill ‘Bulls strike’

When using these skills to put distance between you and an enemy, the way targeting works with them is extremely inconsistent.

~50% of the time when I use these skills without a target it works as I want it to, the ability will activate and I will charge in the direction I am running.

For the other ~50% of the time, the game will select a seemingly random nearby target and charge at it instead.

It becomes extremely aggravating when I am using it to run away and the game decides to target an enemy behind me, does a complete 180 and charges back at a zerg of death.

this really gets me angry. idk why people dont complain about what i am about to say.
first things first, before any1 says anything: i have no auto targeting option and stuff selected on options menu (i don’t even know why theses options exist, all of them are useless [calling nearest target and rarely the next target is already enough, as we also could click on enemies to make them a target]).

problem is that in order to loose a target i need to press esc 20 kitten times when i am in combat (when out of combat i only need to press a single time). so, right when i need to loose a target as fast as i can to run away from zergs in WvW and cast movent skills like sword 2, GS 3 and 5, and bulls charge (dont even know if they are considered movent skills, coz theres an specific trait to break immobilize than i use but dunno if works) i can’t loose the god d**n target. so end up casting skills like bulls charge, even dodge skill, over this zerg of death.
why do i have to press esc a hundread times to unselect a target? at least make a hot key entry in the control options to unselected the already selected target. i makes me mad and depressive when i jump towards the enemy zerg. omg i’m already getting stressed about this again… is it only with me? never heard any1 complaining about it.

Issue with Endure Pain:

Not sure if it is a bug with Endure Pain. Seems that every time I used it, I will die suddenly after a while, even there was no more enemies around and I was not taking any hit or DoTs, while my health is still around 30% or even more. Last time it happened, I checked the combat log and it only showed me a streak of me dealing damages (no incoming damages) before that, then suddenly the message of me suffering gear damage (meaning I just died from nothing). This already happened like 5 times, every time it was after I have to use Endure Pain. (I am trying not to use it after suspecting this)

I was wondering if Endure Pain is supposed to carry over any damage when it is in effect, thus causing your death when the combat is over? Looks like it is more like a bug because it can take more than 30 seconds after I used Endure Pain, then I just died after leaving combat.

i guess i’v been suffering from this same issue. it’s pretty strange cuz i’m already far away from rangers but i still die right after endure pains effect’s ends. i need to test this out more often.

Major bug i found : if you have 25k hp and over 2700 armor, heartseeker trike from thiefs hits you for 5-6k per hit.

not a bug. thieves are OP in my opinion.

the last stand trait implementation makes no sense to me. why would i need a skill that prevents me from being stunned for 8 seconds after i have been stunned already?

yeah, warriors are having a lot of trouble with thieves.
their invisibility is their strength, we lose our target, so we cannot hit them. but it’s ok. it’s their strategy. but their damage is op for sure.
thieves are supposed to apply strong condition damages, not strong straight damage.
idk what’s wrong. is it warrior or thief?
(ranger’s roots [entangle] also drives me crazy when i get caught, it’s hp bar is just too high, it’s like a 5 seconds stun)
