I think MMR needs to be something that changes much more slowly. It seems like every time I win 4-5 in a row I end up in a match against people with Legendary Champion titles and phoenix/dragon finishers, on both sides, and then I end up hurting my team and losing a bunch in a row because, quite frankly, I’m not that good. If I win 5 very close matches in a row, it doesn’t mean I need to be matched against better players. In fact, it means I’m matched with exactly who I should be matched with (because the matches are close).

Granted, if there are insufficient players in the queue people are bound to be mismatched. I also don’t know exactly how MMR is calculated. But the most frustrating aspect of match making in this game, for me, is the ping pong of wrecking new players in one match and then getting wrecked by much better players in the next one.

I’m fine with losing. I’m not fine with non-competitive play.

The Boss Blitz would be fine (rewards aside) if it didn’t become more difficult with more people. A single player could defeat any of these bosses if there weren’t hordes of veterans that continue to spawn right next to some of them. Rather than the boss’s health increasing appropriately when enough people show up to kill the mobs and the boss, the bosses take 30 times longer to kill because their health scales unreasonably.

If they want to encourage small groups to kill the bosses, the veterans need to stay dead when killed until shortly after the boss dies, or at least have a much longer respawn timer. As it is currently, you kill one veteran and another instantly spawns in its place. Otherwise zergs of 25+ people are necessary.

It seems to me that the current dishonor system would be adequate if matches started 5v5 every time. Rather than punishing people that don’t show up to a match (quite frankly I don’t know if such people are given dishonorable, though I expect people who leave mid-match definitely are), a system wherein no match begins unless all 10 players are present within the PvP map should be used, as it would reduce the number of 4v5 scenarios considerably while maintaining a focus on rewards. Punishments are negative and keep people from fully enjoying the game. If a minute has gone by and a player hasn’t joined yet, the system should simply drop them from the queue and find a replacement, and do so repeatedly until 10 players are present. The player dropped from the queue needn’t be punished for being afk.
