You could also try cycling through display configurations by pressing “windows key + P” then press P to cycle projector only/duplicate/extended/computer only.
If it’s not even displaying on boot up, then I’d try clearing CMOS. You’ll have to look at the user manual for the motherboard. There may be a button on the back where the keyboard and mouse plug in, or you may have to set a jumper on the motherboard.
I’m at 14.8GB, the launcher/updater is in MB I believe
Milo-
Can you be more specific on the performance increase you’ve seen? For me the game runs fine most of the time. I run with the graphics maxxed with the exception of shadows on high instead of ultra.
Most of the time I’m 50-80 frames per second but then out of the blue the frame rate will plummet for a few second and the games feels very choppy. And it’s not in areas with insane particle effects or massive amounts of players, I expect and see reasonable performance drops in those areas. Just seems to happen in normal pve environments.
I check back on my system performance logs and cpu, gpu and ram are nowhere near loaded, and system temps are fine. So I just assumed the game was needing to be optimized and that nVidia needs to help on their end with driver support.
What chipsets are the two motherboards you tested using and what cpu? Sandy and Ivy bridge have integrated memory controllers, would seem odd that that 1333 would be a bottleneck on these two cpus. I have a 670 and 2×4gb 1333 haven’t noticed any real problems but if I could get a performance boost, be a good excuse to get 16mb of 1600mhz ram since it’s pretty cheap these days.
So ugly they’re cute…a face only a ranger could love. Mine’s named “great personality”. Pretty darn tanky, solid dps and poison cloud combo field…looks aren’t everything!
Original post is a few weeks old, hopefully got it sorted, he should do fine with that setup.
Kalec: I just setup a 27" Catleap yesterday and run a gtx670 (& i5 3570 cpu) run everything ‘high’ and FXAA and it does well. Usually 50-70, sometimes much higher. There are trouble area where framerates drop into the 20’s and 30’s, but I had those too at 1920×1200.
GW2 looks more amazing than ever on 2560×1440. I wish the UI had more scaling options but I can live with it for the time being.
Hi Mizzory-
I’ve been in the bandit caves many times since beta, frame rates were fine. Went in a day or two ago, and just like you I was 4-13 FPS. nVidia 670 and i5 3570 cpu. So it’s something with with anet’s server or recent patch I suspect.
Toranova- The rapid fire skill splash numbers on the screen are a running total of the skill. i.e. it hits for 200 six times, would be 200/400/600/800/1000/1200.
