I’m happy that you enjoy the class. As everyone said it’s a matter of opinion. Go by your own personal experience. Some people think Elementalists are great and that people whine about it, while others think it is a pain. I believe the latter. Starting out with one for me was a pain, I hated not having survivability and consistently running in circles to avoid certain death. Once you get to a higher level then it becomes easier apparently. Point is despite what people say good or bad make your own assessments.

I agree with both of you (FrowneyClown and Blimm) I like the versatility of the Elementalist, but I feel like I’m constantly fighting for my life in PvE, despite my weapon choice while certain classes can just breeze through. It seem ridiculously unbalanced and kind of unfair. They have such a low survivability.

I recently bought GW2, and I started my main as an Ele. In theory that ability to use different forces of nature sounded interesting. But alas as I started playing my female Ele I realized that it required more work and strategy than I thought it would which is fine by me, but then as I started to refine my skills I realized that at times I could be playing perfectly and still die. I teamed up with a Guardian and Warrior for a certain quest and honestly my Ele felt inferior. I’m wondering if I chose the right character for my main, and if not what other class should I try since I like the ability to spell cast.
