Well once I am playing the issue will just randomly happen, after it happens that one time I have to uninstall my GPU and reinstall it to get GW2 to launch again. It is not launching everytime and crashing. After I receive the error one time GW2 will not re-launch.
I am on a laptop, however I have two built in cooling fans. My lap top feels warm to touch on the bottom while playing but it is no by means hot enough to be overworking as suggested.
I also have 16Gb RAM so I dont think RAM is the issue.
I was also curious as to how can be sure this is not a GW2 related problem? I can still play GTAV fine with no problems and that game utilizes my GPU 3d feature.
I am using a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870m GPU for my laptop.
I continue to receive the error: “Unable to initialize 3d output. please verify that you have installed directx 9 and an updated video driver.”
When I get the error I will be in the middle of playing and then the game crashes and I receive the error every time when attempting to relaunch only to never get passed the launcher.
I have tried:
-Rolling back my driver for my GPU
-Updating my driver for my GPU
-Uninstalling and Re-installing Direct X 9
-Disabling the GPU and Re-enabling it
This is the 4th time this has happened since playing the game and the only workaround for this I have found to work is completely uninstalling my GPU, rebooting, re-install the GPU, and reboot. However this is only a temporary fix from what I can tell. I need a permanent fix for this so it does not continue to happen.
