Let me start off by saying I love Guild Wars 2. It’s far more fun than any other MMO I’ve played.
However, as you know, the Lost Shores event happened just a couple days ago. I actually enjoyed most of what I played(I didn’t participate in any of the one-time events though).
Most of you were probably here for the Halloween event too, which was far better than the Lost Shore event in my opinion. The “one-time events” ran on for a day or two, the rewards were fun and mostly cosmetic, and the story and setting of it was amazing. Mad King Thorn was an awesome character that everyone liked. I loved the Halloween event, even with the small amount of problems.
But I have to wonder; where did they go wrong with the Lost Shores? It seemed rushed. It didn’t seem fun or rewarding with the exception of finding new recipes with the new crafting materials. Southsun Cove just seemed like another Cursed Shore but with Karka. Don’t get me wrong, the art style for the island and design for the Karka was great, and Cursed Shore can be fun, but it didn’t feel new.
I had fun running around the island with my friend, but there wasn’t much stuff to do. We ran around dying because the Karka hit so hard, ran into only one event, then tried a jumping puzzle and logged off.
This won’t stop me from playing GW2, of course. It’s an amazing game, I just hope they don’t go wrong with it. I’m not gonna discuss the Ascended gear here because that’ll just create a whole other argument.
Anyway, what did you think about the Lost Shores event? Did you enjoy the Halloween event better? If so, why?
TL;DNR – The Halloween event was better than Lost Shores. Where do you think they went wrong?
