I was going through my characters and cleaning out/reorganizing inventories when I found an item called “PvP Achievement Reward” that says “Double-click to open”, but nothing happens when I double-click.
Is this an item that’s been patched out or something? Should I just destroy it?
Thanks.
Client Updater crashing (Exception: c0000005)

I eventually got it to work via the (highly dangerous and inadvisable) method of opening up RegEdit and then searching for and deleting any registry keys related to LavaSoft and then rebooting my PC and manually deleting the .dll files.
To anyone with this same error in the future: Back up your registry before you try this. I was lucky I didn’t break anything.

Nope. The registry entries the manual instructions said to delete weren’t there and the automatic method requires a software purchase.

Thanks. Any advice for how to remove it?
Looking around google it seems to be related to “Ad Aware” which I don’t have, virus scans aren’t detecting it, and although I can find the .dll referenced in the crash log, when I try to delete it I get an error message saying that I can’t delete because a bunch of other programs are currently using it.

For the past several weeks I’ve been unable to run GW2 on my desktop (I’ve been slow to ask for help since it still runs on my laptop), due to the launcher crashing while downloading update files.
Computer specs:
-OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)
-RAM: 16 GB
-Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
-Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
Things I’ve tried so far without success:
-Running the Client in Repair mode (https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/28148006-Repairing-the-Game-Client)
-Deleting the Local.dat from AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2
-Deleting the AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2 folder
-Deleting the C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\bin folder
-Deleting the Gw2.tmp file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2
-Uninstalling/Reinstalling the client
-Checked graphics card driver (says it’s up to date)
-Closing out other applications while running the client
-Virus scans
I’ve attached a .txt document with the crash log.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Race: Charr, Male
Class: Guardian
Issue: Armor dye texture bug
Item: Heritage Warplate (Hall of Monuments heavy chest armor)
Portions of the armor are stuck on a shade of red regardless of what the dye color is set to. Additionally, one of the dye slots colors a square U shape on the front of the breastplate, cutting across what had formerly been separate dye-able portions of the armor.
I sometimes play on a less-than-powerful laptop so that I can be in the same room as my apartment mates when we all get on at once. Not really being a gaming PC this laptop runs into serious issues any time I walk into a highly populated town or get close to a really active dynamic event.
Is there an option to stop players that aren’t in your party from rendering? I know that Aion had a similar “Hide other players” option and that would greatly improve the performance of whatever I was running it on.
The inability to directly trade with people or split item stacks are huge inconveniences. Inspecting other players’ gear would be nice and is certainly easier/less awkward than going “Hey, what armor is that?” Although with the presence of transmutation stones, a way to see what the appearance item is would be somewhat necessary.
I imagine that the cosmetic gear progression is some combination of a holdover from GW1 and some sort of attempt to equalize between people that constantly play to earn the fancy gear and people that play more casually.
Another minor detail that tends to bug me is the inability to zoom the camera in to first person.
Especially the gear inspect option. On a similar note, being able to preview items on the Trading Post would be helpful to people who take the look of gear into consideration as much as the stats.
