Hello everybody,

Is it just me or anyone else feels sour after the patch notes?
I was expecting some reworks for traits etc.
Don’t get me wrong I like the buffs but that’s just for the condition aspect of the class.
What about power? what about being more tanky?
I’ve been playing the necro since release and power necro was a dream for me. When the Reaper was announced I thought “finally the day has come I can do sPvP in power Reaper”
Shouldn’t there be some rework or rebalance on some specializations – not just the reaper. From my point of view Elite Specs are meant to give a different flavor to the Profession, not plainly replace them which is mostly (but not always) the case.

Ex: Berserker, that was a nice change, condi Warrior? yes please, let’s see how that go, and now it’s nerfed, whilst Necros can go as far as 20k bleeds and do not get me started on engis.

@ Cecilia, Unfortunatelly, Power Reaper/Necro needs a massive rework, especially in pvp. I’d like to see it work. you know how the game is advertised to be.

I spent up a TP to a friend that I got after 3rd B-day on my main. My friend was at Dragon Stand so i wanted to get there fast in my alt who didn’t have a WP there. Naturally map was full, I retried, only to find out that TP to a friend was used up for nothin.
What gives? What would have happened if I used up more than one that I happened to get using real money? Not only i lost that item, but the OF as well. Please fix your game.

why is it that many people both who write guides and the pro-players in the Tournament use Celestial Amulet? it gives a small bonus to everything but nothing you can specialize on

Hi all, I am Airanthus. Some of you might know me from a couple of my previous posts. I main a Necromancer and I am currently trying to get more into PvP. There is a limited number of resources though on the internet regarding SPvP in GW2. What I mean by resources is not just builds telling you “take this and this traits and press these skills in this order to profit” but how’s the game played, team compositions etc. Would anyone be kind enough to illuminate me please? Also if there is some kind of "tank in SPvP can a Power Reaper do that? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Muchacho! I thought that “channeling” meant when the yellow bar was visible. Still it’s worth it I believe ( +500 toughness is no Joke)

Quick Question, what is Considered as “Channeling”? I mean Ghastly Claws are Channeling but Rending Claws and Life Blast aren’t they channeling abilities or is it considered “Warm-up”?

Hello everyone!

I am Airanthus a sylvari necromancer, I just noticed a small bug in the “Dark Armour” Trait. When I am channelling I do not see a change in Armour. ( Screenshots below).

Also I have traited the foot in the grave trait (Which provides the very lack of stability for necromancers.) but usually all Stability – providing skills work as stunbreakers. But this isn’t the case and that is a Grandmaster Trait.

I changed the build a bit to that, I find I am able to deal much more damage that way and I find it that I survive more.

The stunbreaker is a problem indeed, I am thinking I should change Spectral wall to Spectral armor or Spectral Walk. Probably the first, thanks a lot for all the help

The main idea is to deal as much dmg as possible and try to survive as much as I can with DS and my utility skills.

Lich form deals around 5.5k per auto attack.

DS auto attack deals around 3.5 dmg and applies vuln and might. (pierces too! XD)

Thanks to the rune I have almost always Fury.

Takazuka thanks for the reply, I use Reaper’s Precision because I need my Life Force to build ASAP since I use Death Shroud to deal damage and soak lots of incoming damage. (such as hundred blades, thieves or even infinite falling damage :P)

Usually I go in and out of Death Shroud when my cooldowns and Weapon Swap is on CD and I need to boost my damage, I try not to leave the bar less than 50% as a safety measure In dire situations press the big red button :P

that’s 452 damage per second in my instance, plus 50% more if there are any conditions on the enemy = 678. but that’s condition damage or normal damage? meaning does it Crit?
Doom ticks for 1 second so that’s it (sounds like nice damage), but what happens if i add Master of Terror? increases fear done by 50% so that’s another .5 second, how much damage I deal then? 452/2= 226? or none?
Weakening Shroud sounds real nice, I will test it as soon as i get home from work, thanks for the tip, if you got anything else i’d be glad to hear

I am playing a Sylvari Necromancer and I came with a power/critical build which i would like to have some feedback on.
so my traits are:

Spite 30 VI, X, XII
Curses 20 V,X
Death Magic 0
Blood Magic 0
Soul Reaping 20 II, VI

For weapons I have Axe(power, tough. vit)/Focus (power, Prec, crit dmg) and Dagger (power, Prec, crit dmg)/Warhorn(power, Prec, crit dmg) both sets have 2 5% crit chance sigils. EDIT Thanks to Inhibitor and Bhawb I found out that these two sigils do not stack so i will be replacing them with 5% damage, thank you Gentlemen!
Runes on my clothes are “of the Pack” (power, prec, chance on hit to gain fury, might and swiftness)

I started playing with my necro some sPvP Tournaments. I am rank 9, so basically just starting off. But I am wondering if there is any form of matchmaking because I went up against Dragon rank or some Champion Shadows etc…

Thank you everyone, I am quite overwhelmed by how many replied and how fast. Mostly I need this build for WvWvW as well as some dungeons and such. I will go with TheAgedGnome’s idea for Tou/Prec/Pow and Pre/Tou/Pow jewels. maybe try to customize it. I will let you know how it goes.

Quick question, since i am going to make these by myself (jeweler and tailor at 400) what am i supposed to do with 212k Karma? :P

if you could add some secondary stats too it would be awesome man! like how much crit chance do i have for x Precision?

I am a man of programming ahead of action ( :P ) and I am trying to find a tool (if it even exists) that allows me to simulate the stats with my traits and armor so I know what’s my Crit chance, Power, Toughness (and how much damage it blocks). I am aiming for around 50 ~ 66% crit chance with as much Power possible and Toughness is what I am asking even possible? :P

I was thinking some Knight with some Berserker pieces, problem is to craft this costs some gold and I already have 210k Karma on the side. Are karma exotic pieces worth the trouble?

My main problem is, what gear to use :/ craft some (i have tailoring at 400) get Karma ones? if so which ones?

My main character is a Sylvari Necromancer, so I am trying to get him some gear now that he’s 80.

My spec is an axe/warhorn power/crit 30/20/0/20 focusing at on-hit and on-crit bleeds and hp regen.

So I ask you guys, I want to add some survivability to it by using some Vitality or Toughness. What is worth the most?
also what gear (and from where) should i use?
I am thinking on adding runes (ofc) to the armor, more specifically " of the Mesmer" runes. Any advice?

apparently the same problem still happens! but not in the first minutes i could play for 2-3 hours and then it randomly shuts down!

it is definately not overheating, i just turned my laptop on, ran the game and just as the loading screen ended i made 2 steps and my laptop turned off. GPU 48C and CPU 57 C. Note the game doesn’t cause the crash at standard times. once i played for 40 mins before crash, other times the crash occurred seconds after the loading screen ended.

I bought GW2 today and started playing. After a couple of minutes my laptop simply turned off. My specs are (straight out of DxDiag) :

OS: Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU Q740 @ 1.73 (8cpus) ~ 1.7 GHz
RAM Memory: 8192 MB RAM
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GT 425M
Approx. Total Memory: 4050MB

I run the game in the lowest settings possible. At first i thought it would be a drivers issue, so i downloaded the newest drivers and installed them.
That didn’t seem to work.
My CPU and GPU Temperatures in game are: Approx. 70 C for GPU and CPU
I am using a cooler for the laptop as well as I have a massive fan blowing at it but it doesn’t work either.

I know many people have the same problem but i could use some help.
