Excellent news! Good to know.

Asking questions like that about a game just 6 months after launch is merely shoddy reporting and a lack of creativity.

Dungeons New Level Requirement

Welcome to the world of MMOs where explorables were meant for challenge. I personally never ran with any lowbies because its faster.

This mentality is what has helped destroy online gaming IMO. What you said is the epitome of an oxymoron. You try to defend explorable dungeons (in terms of an end game concept) as being challenging yet you aim for groups that focus their runs on speed, (usually being built around high-end characters with the better gear) thus creating less of a challenge.

If they were truly meant for challenge then they would be level 35 content and a step up from story mode as originally implemented. What explorable modes in most MMO’s are meant to do is create a hamster wheel for players who enjoy grinding repetitive content while giving them a sense of reward for their time invested and keep them busy until the next update/expansion is released.

This game, along with RIFT, are far more dynamic than most other games out there that I am aware of.

The problem lies in repeating the content because of course then it becomes less dynamic as it is repeated.

Therefore the problem is user error, not development. If you decide to play alts or repeat content multiple times than you the player are taking away from the dynamic world the game offered your first time through.

Punished for going back and helping low level players.

This is a good idea; but how do we bypass the often hour to two hour queue times? This is an honest question; not a trolling one. Am I missing a way around this?

Traveling to the Heart of the Mists has absolutely no queue time whatsoever. Just zone in, use the Asura gates and you are good to go.

I found this article to be great and really lay it down to those who see this game for something it’s not. This game is all about the journey to level 80 and I feel the article really points out that those who chose to breeze through the content really missed out on the meat of the game.

Try thinking outside the box and enjoy a game where you don’t need to watch your XP bar whatsoever. Enjoy the game first and think of levels as secondary, it will make the game much more appeasable to those accustomed to the past decades genre of MMO’s.

Happy huntin’.

Could you go back to a "standard" MMO?

There is a plethora of games out there to choose from, stop trying to make every game your ideology of what a game should entail.

This game is perfect for many people and ANet has been adamant for quite some time about what this game was geared towards. Not all will like it while some folks will find it 2nd to none. I fall under the latter, enjoy every minute of it, and applaud ANet for having the guts to step outside the box and revolutionize the next decade’s genre or MMO’s.

Those that don’t like it, I wish you the best finding what you are seeking. But stop trying to make this something it’s not, there are plenty of other games that surely fit your playstyle.

I would like to know the details as well. Many things in this game don’t give an explanation and I enjoy that for the most part as it creates a sort of mystery behind experimenting. But certain aspects that can be considered detrimental to the game should have a better form of description IMO.

Where is the Quiver??

If they implement quivers then they should also implement arrows that stack in low amounts and take up inventory space.

I mean, if many of you are saying it is odd and seemingly breaks immersion, then why not be as realistic as they can right?

My problem stems from that fact that the “journey”, as you put it , in this game isn’t as enjoyable as I had hoped and because the game (From what I have read) doesn’t get much better like literally every other MMO has, I feel little enjoyment as I am playing the game.

Many folks, myself included, are finding the journey to be tremendous and quite different from other games ideologies. Sorry this game isn’t as enjoyable as you hoped, that’s your own fault for obviously over-hyping something. It happens to us all with movies, books, etc. I honestly hated this game during the beta events and had no desire to play it. That’s because I didn’t understand it. Once I took the time to understand the concepts and motivations behind them I came back into the game with a different outlook and been having a blast ever since.

I want a mixture of both PvE and PvP. I want this game to be my next swtor or WoW (An MMO that I play for longer than 5 months), If Anet doesn’t throw me a bone then I’ll be pretty sad.

There again is your problem, you want this game to be something else entirely and expect the game to cater to your likings. There are MANY games out there to choose from nowadays and not all are going to be ones cup of tea.

In the end I hope you find what suits you best. It’s time for me to log in and enjoy some game time.

What to do with lvl 80?

“blow through it”? He played the entire game, and parts of it several times if he farmed an entire set of armor already.

That’s doing basically everything that is out there

It’s not that they want it to be like WoW, they just want more stuff to do.
Can’t really fault them on it either, there are several disgruntled customers who feel the same.

This game was not intended to be played in that manner. If one chooses to do so, great, that’s their own personal decision. But understand that your own decision, and many others who chose to play that way, is the root cause of your disappointment.

A little research would have gave you an idea of what to expect from this game. Sorry you chose not to invest the time to understand what you were getting into.

I wonder if you can’t see content=! gear grind or just so incredibly stupid.

My problem with this game is that once you get to 80 thats pretty much it, their really nothing to do that you haven’t been doing for the last 79 levels. In previous games I had just as much and in the case of TOR and WoW, more fun leveling up only to have that be the tip of the ice berg in terms of playable content. A whole new game opened up to me on top of the game I was playing.

A little research about this game over the past few years would have made you aware that this game is about the journey to the level cap. It’s different from the last decades genre of MMO’s and that’s a good thing. You have to think outside the box you are used to for this game really to shine.

When you can see the game for what it is rather than what you want it to be then you will know whether or not it is the game for you.

I’d recommend reading this link, it helps explain the games concepts:

I hope you find a way to enjoy this game or I wish you the best in search of what it is you are seeking.

Having a hard time targeting

I don’t have any issues with the targeting myself. I do notice however that sometimes I lose the targets portrait but still have the right mob targeted and taking damage.

This is what happens when folks don’t research a game before purchasing it and just have to obtain the new flavor of the month.

This game is all about the journey to the level cap. That has been pretty apparent for quite some time. Why others still expect differently I’m not sure.

Either you didn’t do your research or only read/heard what you wanted to.
