This fight is still ridiculous. If you can make it without dying – great for you, but I’m a filthy casual and just had to fight the final boss naked from all the wipes thouse jade constructs cost me (still no anvil in the entire instance, great). Nothing fun about this fight, honestly – previous boss fights in LW S3 were difficult, but mostly in a good way. This is just BS, a story instance I will never touch again, not event for a milion AP.
I really like the idea of some variety considering the backpack looks. The kits were fun at the start (i remeber the first few hours with the engi – unlocking new kits, seeing how amazing they are), but after a while they feelt like old, boring bags, even if you are lvl 80, they stay the same. What engineer wouldn’t improve his beloved set of tools?
Personally, I like my engineer. I don’t get all the crying about how weak and underpowered we are. There are some bugs, sure, but that’s a matter of time until they get fixed. As for the AoE changes – I wouldn’t be to woried about it. They didn’t mention any nerf – it’s just a change in the mechanics (all classes tend to spam aoe, even on a single target). And after all – it’s not like they will implement it soon. ANet claimed that this kind of alteration would need serious testing in every possible aspect of the game.
As for the topic – I also like the fact, that we are one of the most rare (in terms of population) classes right now :)
I think you over egsadurate. They mentioned a change in the AoE mechanics, not a dmg or radius nerf. They just want to change the fact, that every class is spamming AoE, even when fighting a single target. It’s not gonna be a ‘quick ninja nerf’, as it is a pretty seroius matter. ANet claimed they will test it in every possible aspect and only then will they decide if that sort of change comes to life.
I just hope, that after all, the bomb healing won’t be affected to much.
Are the upcoming updates mostly bug-fixes, tweaking and improvements, or are you going to introduce some new content too? (in terms of story, items, events, new gameplay aspects)
Also, could you say something more about the guild activities? Will it be a form of guild dungeons, events etc? Or something completely different? Will there be some material benefit for the guild for completing those? And will you allow guilds to form bigger parties for this kind of gameplay?
BTW thanks for all the information you guys give us. It’s always nice to see where your favorite game is heading :)
