Much people want to become the best PvE player or the ultimate PvP warrior.
Let’s get real. That takes a lot exercise and training yourself. Months of grinding for mats or heaps of gold and/or real money to buy them. Don’t forget a pile of reading, exhausting study and even some math. Will there be any time left to actual play and enjoy the game? So I want just to improve a bit, but don’t know how.
At the moment I own a 25 Mastery rank, I’m level 10 WvW, completed my personal story (now in Act 4 of HoT) and collected all the hero points of the old world (except 1). So I’m mainly a PvE player.
My current gear (all Berserker’s type):
[ x, y, z = Power, Precision, Ferocity ]
Exalted Masque (60, 43, 43)
Exalted Mantle (45, 32, 32)
Feathered Vestments (134, 96, 96)
Exalted Gloves (45, 32, 32)
Apprentice pants of the Scholar (90, 64, 64)
Winged Boots (45, 32,32)
6 runes of the Scholar included.
Weapon:
Zenith Spire (239, 171, 171)
+ Superior Sigils of Accuracy and Force
Backpack Spineguard of Ruby (26, 19, 19)
With Ruby Jewel (25, 15, 15)
My food: Plate of Fire Flank Steak and Tin of Fruitcake (use them always)
2 Ruby rings
And a hearth shaped yellow item (can’t change/replace it)
My training is completed.
Specialization set according to what I’ve found a site.
Use staff with fire attunement.
Rotation according to tips at a site.
Artificer and Jeweler at max level.
I know to possible (?) upgrades:
I’ve Berserker’s Elegant Jeweler’s Backpack (32, 18, 18) however can’t get the Exquisit Ruby Jewel fixed into it.
Then there’s the legendary weapon (The Legend Experiment), however is takes lots of times, gold, diamonts and it’s stats are equal to my present weapon. Beside I think the next steps in crafting are way more expensive.
Finally, sometimes I play WvW for some variation. In a group, it’s fine. One on one, it’s 2 or 3 hits and I’m gone, makes me cry. Do they use special gear of tricks?
A long story, please help.
All advice & tips are welcome.
Thanks guys,
Your comments solved my questions completely
As a regular PvE player I wanted something new. Tried WvW, pretty clear what to do there. Then an attempt for the “other” PvE at an island with a lot of people hanging around and an NPC offering battles. Signed in for a 20 men thingy.
A very short experience, seemed to be kicked.
Later on I read some comments, ehm, rules:
- All swapped start and end
- Volunteer for +25 bonus
- No attack, don’t use lavafont, minions, pets, and so on -> else kick
- Use finishers and you get banned
What to swap?
What kinda bonus?
Why not use good (DPS) abilities?!?
Who makes such rules and even threads with ban? (kittened).
Could anybody give some explanation or an url where to find explanations?
Even PvP must be fun, isn’t it?
I’m playing this game for approx. a month. Enjoy it, however I have some unsolved questions.
Being an Elementalist I’ve used my collected hero points for the fire specialization. I don’t know if there’s a max number of hero points. Use them for other spec’s or keep them for Tempest (a level 80 spec). If current (level 57) usage is beneficial, what’s the best spec? A strong healing one? In some “world” fights I die sometimes, can use a power healing at that moment. Maybe it’s useful for group mates too.
The game offers some group activity (dungeons, raids) and a facility to get into such a group. The presence of such a group is an exception. The requirements are unfamiliar, what is the meaning of asking for P1, P2 or P3? Strolling around at internet shows complaints about the lack of groups (3 year and 1 year old threads). Difficult to understand, at “open world” events I meet a big group of players almost every hour of the day.
Finally, how to join a guild? I expect a list of available guilds, can’t find such a function. Neither sites containing useful information.
Of course I’ve searched this forum, however it’s to complex, at least at this point in time.
I just stick to: Int + Beserker + Precision stats, performing quite well in PvE.
Please assist a newbe.
