I think the new ones are alright but the past skins have definitely not been the greatest. But to warrant spending $10 on a skin I do hope for better cosmetics in the future.
I had this happen to me randomly just the other day. Was an awful, annoying noise. I’ve had the game since launch basically and haven’t had it up until now. I played with the audio settings a bit and haven’t heard it again so we’ll see what happens. It’s rather odd that there are so many complaints about this yet the last reply from an Anet employee was about 2 months ago
If you plan on buying your crafting materials from the TP, no, leveling crafting to max isn’t worth it. Everything is too expensive right now and it ends up costing more to craft an item than what it will sell for on the TP in most cases. But there’s still money to be made if you gather/farm the materials yourself and either sell the raw material by itself or use it to craft rares and up. Learning gathering routes for materials you need is essential and does take a little time and coin if you tele.
I wish ArenaNet would at least make these events happen at 3 different times or something… once early on, then midday and finally sometime at night… I mean some of us have jobs and can’t be on smack dab in the middle of the day. I was looking forward to doing the events until I realized I wouldn’t be able to make the 1st one.
Thanks for all the replies everyone. We’re working on updating everything this weekend so this will help a good bit. Good info to know
We’ve been trying to figure out every type of enemy that has a chance to drop loot as well as the best locations for each. So far we came up with:
- Bandits
- Centaurs
- Separatists
- Inquests
- Skritt
The locations vary but most can be found on our post http://gw2guidez.com/blog/gw2-jute-farming-locations-tips/
We want to keep adding to it so does anyone else have any enemies/locations they know of that you can get tons of jute scrap from? Much needed for crafting.
The main guys I see drop oranges, which isn’t very often, are pirates. The bags of booty contain them once in a while. I wouldn’t be expecting a ton of them if I were you. As already mentioned, the best way to get oranges in bulk is buying on the Trading Post.
I think it’s a pretty good idea. Even just a desktop app would be great. I have a laptop I carry around everywhere. It’s not good enough to handle the game well but I would love to access to stuff like the TP on it if nothing else. I know it takes quite a bit to get a standalone app developed but, hey, it’s worth throwing the idea out there. I’d pay for it if it were reasonably priced.
I currently write for a Guild Wars 2 blog where we give tips for builds, getting vistas, finding POIs, getting gold, crafting…. pretty much EVERYTHING GW2. We’re trying to build it up into a huge resource for players. We also put out videos somewhat regularly on our YouTube channel. Be sure to stop by and leave comments telling us what you think and such.

I agree that the Dragons look awesome and have cool animations. The rewards do suck, though. But then again, rewards aren’t great for anything really. 90% of the time I get gear that isn’t even for my profession. The other 10% of the time I get blues or worse.
^^ NoOneShotU makes a good point. All I ever see is skimpy female characters running around. When I first started playing I thought they just all had broken armor but, nope, that IS the armor.
PvP and WvW is very enjoyable if play with large groups. If you just go out on your own you’re just asking to be killed if you are spotted by even just a pair of other players. If you wanna go solo you should probably just run WvW and run the outskirts of the maps to gather from nodes, level via killing monsters, etc.
I’m not a huge fan of PvP but WvW has been pretty fun, even when you’re on a losing server. Find a good group of people that communicate and strategize well and you’ll probably find it to be more interesting, too.
I’ve got a Warrior, Elementalist, Guardian and Ranger… the Warrior gets played 100,000x more than the rest. I’m not a fan of picking off enemies from a distance like a pansy little scavenger. I prefer to run in to hack and slash.

I use a Charr. But I’m not a big, bulky Charr either. I wanted to be a bit more unique so I went to the smaller side. I’m still a bit larger than most other races in-game (aside from some Norns) so if you’re looking to be tiny and unseen, Charr probably isn’t your best option. But for the sake of sense I’d say Charr is the best for Warrior.
I play solo 90% of the time and I have noticed the fast respawns as well. It can be really annoying at times. Some small events I either have to spend 20 mins to complete (where it’d normally take 5-10) or can’t finish them at all. Especially with events that require you to capture a certain area (the red ring areas) or keep an NPC alive. Enemies respawn too fast to be able to complete either of those objectives in a lot of cases. I’ve even tried switching servers to less populated ones to see if that made a difference but it really doesn’t so I don’t think they’re scaled appropriately for a solo player.
I think as long as you’re not playing a Ranger or following a pack of bots around you shouldn’t get reported. I would hope those that have been banned are able to get their accounts back. Surely ArenaNet knows that people will farm events. Doesn’t mean they’re necessarily bots.
As for the OP – looks like a solid way to rack up gold. Might have to give this a go for a bit tonight and see how it goes. I’m low on g right now after buying a ton of new gear so this will help a ton if it works.
