I’m on a Mac and using a second monitor. If you guys aren’t going to give Macs a real version could you at least give us 1920×1080 WINDOWED option? Can I expect a ‘Metal’ version in the future?
Is there like a MAC guild.. because i see this problems are gonna keep happening.
I would be the first in line to join that guild! All Macheads all the time. No PC’s telling me I “wasted money”.
It’s still April 11th. I’m sorry you live in the Europe, but this game runs on West Coast time. It’s annoying for me as well; honestly I wish they would run on GMT, because the resets are on GMT, but sadly they don’t. Of course the PC gets a fix quicker; there’s way more PC players and PC actually has a native client. I feel like none of you are thinking about the time zones before you post. It was one thing when no one was answering us earlier this week, but now they finally are and have said they are working on it.
It’s almost heartbreaking to see the length people go to defend a company, even now when it’s not “morning April 11th” anywhere on this planet. Wait.. they didn’t say earth time did they? Hmm.
IKR! What’s with the “teacher’s pet” angle?
whats a crossover?
A crossover is a device designed to divide audio information into smaller frequency ranges to comply with the requirements of different transducers in an audio reproduction system. This is accomplished by running the audio through a set of filters. For example, a two-way crossover may be comprised of a low pass and high pass filter where the low pass filter passes a signal with frequencies more suitable for a woofer and the high pass filter passes frequencies the tweeter can deal with. Crossovers can be passive or active designs. Passive crossovers are usually found inside speaker cabinets along with the speaker components. These often connect to the outside world via a single jack, but sometimes each speaker component also has its own jack in case one wants to bypass the built in passive crossover. Active crossovers are placed before the power amp. In that application each frequency range is given its own power amp and its own drivers. This is where the phrase bi-amping and tri-amping come from. There are a number of different types of filter configurations used in crossovers and they each produce subtly different results. One of the big variables is how steep the roll off is at the cutoff frequency. Common configurations are 12 dB per octave, 18 dB per octave, and 24 dB per octave. Each design has its own strengths and weaknesses, but in general steeper roll offs are considered better in modern applications.
They should make a real Mac version or this sort of thing will happen again.
Smoke ’em if ya got ’em!
Hi Danicia,
updated
As you have noticed, there is concern in the mac community about arenanet’s policy to not say anything but what seems to be appeasement along the lines of “We will keep you updated (with statements of keeping you updated)”.
1. Don’t call it a beta if it isn’t. It’s a lie, as in not the truth. It’s a finished product somewhat poorly wrapped.
2. Tell us if you are working on a native client
3. Please remember that no matter how good your intentions might be, the only thing that players are able to see is what is in the game and your posts here. This leads to the impression that Arenanet doesn’t care at all for the mac community and has over and over again tried to push our complaints away in a “we will update you soon (on nothing)” manner.
4. again, _TELL_us if at least one person is working on a NATIVE client. And with working I mean at least one person at Arenanet is getting paid to work_full time_on a mac native adaptation.
5. Last but not least the performance related things…
Fix anything, really. Bad framerate, low textures supported, trading post not working most of the time, lots of crashes & all that beautiful jazz.
I have no idea how and to what extend it can be improved but you always have the option to change something in the mac “beta” client and then ask for our opinion on whether or not it brought an improvement.5.1 What bothers me most is having to play with really low settings.
5.2 I don’t have a lot of crashes, virtually none actually so I can’t complain about this but as it seems other people go through lots of trouble to get rid of those crashes
5.3 The main thing is that we only get 1/2 of quality/fidelity of what the windows version has to offer…Michael
Praise the Lord! Thanks for writing this. Really appreciate your candor. You crushed it.
Just got the new build; we’re getting closer!
Thank you for the news Danicia. Sorry everyone’s being so…rude about this. :/
Thanks Danicia. Sorry for the sanctimony of some during this time of crisis.
I’m not a computer genius. That’s why I got a Mac. How much longer will the Mac version be in beta? Will there ever be a full fledged Mac version? If so when will it be available? If no, why the heck not?!

Yes, I am bored. 1) The world events all end up looking like a dog pile of people button mashing (me included). 2) When all else fails “everyone ‘stack’ here and button mash the heck out of it.” 3) Mmorpg server economies are a cheap foil (EVE is the only exception). 4) Or maybe I’ve out grown this.
Hope they get a ‘native’ Mac client before ESO comes out. Or I am outa here!
