A while ago i dropped a precursor and sold it. Guess I can be a commander twice now with the new tags, eh? Guess getting lucky with the Mystic Forge and grinding gold means i’m capable of leading organized groups, huh?
ArenaNet, please take a good look at how the community is offended at this decision, and reconsider adding SAB to the game, possibly as permanent content. By scrapping the hopes and dreams of many SAB fans (as well as the people cheering for a new race, etc) you have hurt a significant portion of your fanbase, and this will affect you financially.
Do we enjoy Living Story? Yes we do. But i am 100% sure we could take a break from it, and get more (and i mean way more) WvW/PvP focused updates, as well as Dragon Bash/SAB for those who missed it. Listen to your community, ArenaNet! Look at the uproar the new commander tag system caused! And now this? There were guilds dedicated to WvW, and even guilds dedicated to Jumping Puzzle, and unfortunately you stepped on all of their tails with a single move! They are also fans of the game, they also deserve your attention and love! People are dedicating their time to screencapping the riots and editing images out of it, those things take time and dedication, people are rioting against the recent news on several servers!
Please, ArenaNet! Listen to us, please! If you love us, listen to us! If you love your own game, listen to us! Let’s work together, ArenaNet, for GW2’s own good!

I agree that it looks bad, and i`d appreciate if it was removed or if it was a thinner string made of light (to look more magical).
While we dont get those, remember that the Ranger has access to several ranged pets. They may not be the best things around (to some players) but they`ll still be outside most of the nasty aoe`s.
It actually surprises me this hasnt been implemented yet. Its one of those decisions that wouldnt harm any player – it would only bring good.
Players that like their pets always around would still have the option – as default, even. Everything works the same. However, players that would like to have their pets perma-stowed would have the option, too. Having options is always good. Dont like it? Dont use it. No one can complain.
Its not just for the trap activation, its also for jumping puzzles (sometimes they lure turrets and other objects), its for the challenge – the thrill of soloing a Champion without a bear pet holding your hand. Maybe its even for the roleplayers – we do have a big RP community, and i’m sure some of them would like to roleplay as “lone wolf” rangers.
Arena Net, please implement this. It will only bring good!
