1. uninstalled, installed game again from disk.
2.Gave gameadvisors to tech support.
3. disabled and uninstalled avg aswell as my windows security.
4. installed game via installer on website.
5. -repair, /clientport 80, on a shortcut.
6. did the installations again up to 7 times now.
7. flushed and registered my dns
8. changed connection settings, didnt work
9. took my computer and hooked it up directly through the modem
10. repeated everything i already tried.
11. tried deleting the local.dat file(found this on other forums)
12. after doing that and being unsuccessful i downloaded whole game from the website again
13. tried downloading the french version(heard this helped people, who then switched it to english mode)
14. updated the pieces of software they told me too, that did nothing
by the end of all that i went and asked around what people did to fix this problem and they said the went and got the gw2.dat file from a friend who the patch downloader worked for and the game was playable, i think this is stupid that this is the solution i have to resort to, to play a game

@muslumgurseks: i have done a clean install of windows nothing worked. Also i bought the disk version from the start and the problem occurred. Then i used the downloader from this site and still didnt work. I dont want an installation disk, i want a disk with all the files already on it so i dont have to go through all this crap.
@God Of Fissures: i know how to use a computer, it has been 2 weeks, you dont think ive tried everything? Also i didnt “bork” my windows installation, i have a genuine copy and its a clean install. There are other people who are having this problem and from what it seems nothing works, except getting the files from someone else who already has the game installed and fully patched.

This is absolutely ridiculous its been 2 full weeks and i still cant play the game, i have gone out of my way to do everything for arena.net, provide info about everything and all the steps, i have put in about 5 gameadvisors and i have been told to do the same thing 5 times, also i have reinstalled the game 8 times, its not the installation that is the problem its the download of the files after the game is installed, nothing has worked and then finally someone tells me to get the files from a friend. I dont have a friend who plays gw2 and this is completely stupid, i have waited long enough for these last 4 files to download on from whatever patch they come from and nothing worked.

nope wouldnt even let me do the update
service pack 1 for windows 7 im downloading it now, but idk if it’ll make a difference haha ill try tho
creature can you give me a hand with this, my patch gets stuck at 5 files remaining and it will not budge, i can give you whatever you need in info

no my gw2.exe app doesnt run the whole 10141kb program like the beginning of the installer it just cuts to the DL and my tmp file stayed at 0kbs

They said one way to fix it is by using the download from the website because some of the cds shipped with un-updated launchers

Same 5 files left for me aswell, this needs to be resolved soon or i take the game back, i really dont want to since i heard this game was amazing haha

This sucks to be quite honest. i waited a week to get paid so i can buy this game, get home and then it doesnt work lol. i just hope they fix it with a patch or allow a mirror/previous version to be used

0.0kb/s is what the speed is at when it hits 248kbs downloaded every single time, and i have done everything everyone has told me to do and nothing has worked

I have already installed the game, and what now looks like a large patch was being downloading, I was almost done the patch with no problems then it got to 5 files remaining and it will not budge from that spot, when i launch the client again it only downloads 248kbs then stops.
please help
My game currently downloads all the files(on the launcher screen) except for 5 of them, this is the point at which the connection goes to 0.0kb/s, i close out of the launcher then open it again and it downloads 248kbs every time then stops and goes back to 0.0kb/s

i dont know how to get to my port triggering options(im not very good with computers), but i am at the launcher screen with 5 files left to download. I download 248kbs and then my download speed stops and stays at 0.0kb/s, i need help with this issue
i get to the launcher screen and it says i have 5 files remaining, it downloads to 248kb and then the rate of download goes to 0.0kb/s and doesnt start up again
