Right now, a necromancer with the Death Nova grandmaster trait from Death Magic will summon a Jagged Horror after every kill, with a 15 second minimum between summoning. The Jagged Horrors die after 20 seconds if they’re not killed.
Nearly every time a necro summons one of these things, their minion summoning speech is triggered. And nearly every time they die, the minion death speech is triggered.
This is annoying! I don’t think you developers intended necromancers to hear the same lines every 20 seconds! I love the Death Nova trait, but this aspect of it has almost ruined it for me. Am I supposed to just accept hearing the same minion summoning and minion death lines over and over again in 20 second intervals while fighting whenever I play this character? It pretty drastically changes the game experience, and it’s not fun.
Please remove the necro’s speech about minions when a Jagged Horror is summoned through the Death Nova trait and when it dies. I have zero issue with minion speech in general, just the fact that it’s repeated over and over in quick succession after applying the Death Nova trait. And that becomes the character’s life. This might be a little more complicated to do on your developer end than just turning something off, and I respect that it might not be as easy a fix as it seems, but please, for the love of your player’s experience, put the work in to erase that feature. You guys don’t want players to listen to that speech every 20 seconds in battle, do you? In dungeons it’s ridiculous!
I love your game, thanks for everything you guys do, but please look at that issue. I’m pretty sure it’s just a simple oversight and unintended experience from you guys.

Malchior, I don’t mean to get rid of all minion summoning speech. I think it’s rad. But when we hear it every 20 seconds when summoning a Jagged Horror as a result of the Death Nova perk, it gets annoying. And I don’t think the devs intended for us to be forced to listen to it so often. I think this particular issue is a simple oversight, and makes complete sense to be corrected.
Does anyone really want to hear the speech every 15 seconds when they kill something? I think this issue almost breaks Death Nova. Personally, I don’t want to use it with the recurring speech – which is a shame, because otherwise I love the trait.
I like Death Nova very much, but including the voice upon summoning a Jagged Horror and when it dies is ridiculous. My character is saying the same minion summoning/death soundbits every 20 seconds. I have no issue with the speech normally, but when we’re summoning a minion after EVERY kill, we shouldn’t need to listen to the speech. All of a sudden, big change in play experience if we’re hearing the same thing unrelentingly.
Please disable player character minion summoning/death speech when the Jagged Horror is summoned and dies! Please. Thanks.

Reasons:
1. Mesmers only have two mainhand weapons (sword, scepter). If anything is given to them, it’d be great to increase the diversity of the mainhand weapon choice. We really don’t need another offhand (shield).
2. It’d be freaking great to use two pistols as a Mesmer, and would easily fit into a kind of tricky, illusionist gunslinger persona. Slanted hat, Zorro with guns type of person.
3. Pistol/torch, pistol/focus would be interesting, totally mesmer-y relevant mind-bending weapon combos.
4. Come on. Pistol mainhand!
