I would really like a small handful of Guild Hall decorations for gems. I don’t want major decorations, but like special statues of heroes of the past like that could be interactable. Similar to the keg that was locked behind the year achievement – nice and interactable for guildie entertainment!
- Tybalt statue that you can interact with it to get an apple bundle!
- Destiny’s Edge group that are in a dynamic pose and you can interact with them to get maybe a ‘raving mad’ buff like in gw1 where you hear the voices of heroes past
- Tyrian Tree Bundle: Shiverpeak trees, Krytan trees, Magumma trees, (small, medium and large) to throw around the guild halls. I really want more tree variety —- Though these could also be craftable, giving you two sources for them —- Bonus points if they’re climbable for guildie entertainment.
I saw some people mentioning about adding a Black Lion Merchant into the guild hall (as a guild upgrade would be lovely to allow other guilds to use different upgrades to get to 40!) But I would also like to add bring the NORMAL GUILD COMMENDATION GUY into the guild hall. It seems strange that he is the ONLY merchent you have to go all the way to Lion’s Arch to interact with and it makes it very clunky for new members. Especially since I keep getting asked “Where do I buy guild ascended????” Even if he turns out to be a guild upgrade unlock through Marketplace 1, it would be far more convenient for new and old players. (especially since he sells flag poles before Deco Merch 3 does anyway!)
I don’t mind the new maps, but it would still be nice if there was a ‘rotation’ to please both sides. For example, have the deserts one week, apline another. Or do it monthly instead. I’ve seen commanders that prefer one map over the other and even both of them. Not to mention changing the maps once in a while will make it feel all fresh. It would take more resources, yes, but would still add some spice to it
I can see why they would want us to unlock them on the characters, but like in my post, there is a flaw when it comes to low wvw level players. To be truly affective for a small guild, I have to either be completely balanced and a master of nothing or have a mastery on one character.
:( but let’s be honest, a golem mastery character is NOT going to be played as often as a flame ram mastery which also isn’t played as often as a Cata character in these BLs.
It does feel inconsistent of them, though, I agree. It’d also be nice if there were ‘more’ uses for them. While superior are nice, I would much rather put the time into the guild hall to make the small guild stronger and so being able to buy some of the normal blueprints would be nice to get some upgrades done quicker. Or if I could convert them into badges of honor would be nice too for when I go on a badges spending spree to donate to larger wvw guilds when they have a tag.
But for /me/ just spending them on superior blueprints that my small havoc group can’t build (and they’re not as useful when everything is paper atm) makes them feel useless to me.
Well the guild upgrade won’t necessarily be more than the 30 minutes for towers, but with castles it might be a while.. If the guild works as a group, and escort the dollys while someone sits the objective, you can speed up the dollies with the med kit stam pots or with the guard and mesmer’s speed skills. And if you are a dedicated wvw group, there should be a speedy dolly upgrade for the camps, I think?
While I agree, left to their own, the time is very big for paper towers and keeps. But it also would encourage people to watch over keeps and towers so that when dollies come closer they can jump out and go and speed the yaks towards the door. (not to mention newer players can be assigned to this task for their lifetime yak assisting achievement)
While I understand that these are /not/ the solutions you would prefer, it is at least bronze lining in the bag over our heads.
EDIT: did some math after I posted and rectified my comment for clarity

I was WvWing on my main character (100% core completion) while exploring HoT so got a large handful of Proofs of Heroics every couple of weeks. Recently I decided to dump my stash of Proofs of Heroics so they wouldn’t sit in my bank anymore.
Unfortunately I have 29 heroics bound to my main character that she can’t use. Is there a way (or will there be a way) that we can transfer these heroics over to a different character?
Most of my characters are specialized in what they are mastered in for WvW so she’ll still get heroics since she’s specialized for AC and Ballistas (good defense) and our server is small and has to defend to keep our points since we can’t GvG easily. But since I can’t respec my characters at will I can’t change this specialized mastery to another character until they finished hero points.
:( any answers/suggestions would be really appreciated since I don’t want to waste heroics until I get to a wvw rank that I don’t have to specialize characters anymore.
There are actually a lot of skins for while you’re leveling up. Unfortunately, you have to craft for a good handful of these skins. I believe after level 35 armor the Rare armor crafting options become available. While they are a bit more expensive to make, it does allow you to unlock skins. These skins, I believe, are also tied to collections which will give you a small bonus after completion. Some of these skins are not the best, but they do give you some options as you progress to 80
Another options is the Hall of Monuments from Guild Wars 1. These skins can be obtained on a lvl 1 character and are skins and minis. Some of them are really cool!
A third options is to to find some skins that you really like on the TP and save up for them. Lower level mats are still worth a pretty penny and just because a GEAR is lvl 80, doesn’t mean you can’t unlock the skin at lvl 4 and use the skin on your armor. Skins themselves are not level bound, only the gear attached.
I’m not sure if the suggestions would really be implemented for a while. While it is extremely inconvenient, once you open up the Scribe table in the guild hall, you can just keep both windows open all the time. The Treasurer window will stay open at all times – no matter how far away you go from him – as you walk around the guild hall. This allows you to run to the Scribe station and use the storage tab there. Before getting Scribe it was stupid, yes. However, once you have the scribe station you can just have the two seperate windows open.
Good evening, Tyria! With the launch of the Lunar Near Year, my guild and I went a little crazy with buying lanterns. After buying our lanterns we realized that we really want to share what we did with them. After we decided to share, we wondered if there was a Guild Hall Showcase of sorts. When a google search gave us a few reddit posts, we decided to post a community sharing of guilds! We would love to see screenshots of what you did in your guild hall, especially with all of the available decorations that have been released since HoT’s launch.
For this forum, I would love to see all images of decorated guild halls. We want a screen shot of the corner you’re most proud of!! With these screenshots, you can brag about how well your guild did with getting materials needed as well as at how dedicated your scribes are! But most of all, we should share decorating ideas with each other!! Just like with a house showcase, we want to see your “house” to get decorating tips!
You can be as secretive or talkative as you want, but make sure to keep on topic about guild decorating! Try not to focus on scribing and expenses but on the actual use of items! We would love to know what inspired the scene, if it was a guild effort or the idea of one individual, and if you wanted to focus on the animated life of npcs or the still life of the buildings! Was the scene an area that your guild members often afk in? Or is it an area often untouched by human interaction? WE WANT TO KNOW!!!
Of course, what would this board be without an example for all of us to see?
Sponsor Guild: Twinkle Fairies [TF]
Hall: Gilded Hollow – Tier 2 Marketplace
Inspiration: Zephyrite festival marketplace
Contributed: Leader & Co-Leaders (3-4 people)
Focus: The tranquil feel of a busy market
Tips&Tricks: Positioning the lanterns was a bit difficult but putting them above objects helped elevate them and trying to put them on a low box/or low on a wall instead of the ground helped to lower them. They also are easily put near poles to look attached!
P.S. I hope I put this in the right forum subgroup. I’m still not sure if this should be in General or the fan-created content.
Guild Puzzle
Puzzles have been quite troublesome :
- Since guild puzzle where add to the game, waypoint were created near their start. Those waypoint are always contested, except when a guild puzzle is launch. BUT since HoT, puzzles are instantiated. So when we launch one, the waypoint is not uncontested. Basically, they are useless now.
- Being instantiated is also one cause of trouble : death or deconnection is a real problem. Today, someone died in Langmar, jumping to his curtain. Ok, you can respawn. Yes. Respawn. Behind the door, in the previous room. So 3 more people suicide themself to get back there too and re-open the door. That shouldn’t happen, and just adding more checkpoints would solve the problem (and you could relog there too).
On a side note, I would like to mention that we were promised prior to HoT that we could still partner up for guild challenges and yet my small guild (3 people) cannot piggie back with our sponsoring guild (45 people) to finish challenge missions. We do not get an accept pop up and our timer keeps ticking down. Our members are members of both guilds so we get personal credit, but not guild credit. =/ It’d be nice if this was either fixed or announced that partnering has been nullified (which pretty much ruins the fact that we’re a huge community that helps each other)
I don’t really like this “Can’t res in combat” change. You say it’s to give small groups a better chance against bigger groups, but at the same time, it severely hinders the small group. As a thief in wvw, I tend to stealth and go to res people while the larger group is distracted. And since I only go with my guild (5 people at most) if even one of them in dead permanently for the fight it is very hard to fight back.
I also see this as a problem when we are trying to attack towers and castles as a small group since this means the guards will also hinder our ability to res, which will slow down the process even if the keeper of the keep isn’t there to defend. This could lead to our fallen member being forcibly pushed back to spawn and running back. So we basically wasted time trying to res a member who is critical for taking down the champ and now have to wait around until he gets back before we can do anything further (especially if we’re not maxed on supply capacity so we’ll need to do extra supply runs while we wait)
The catapult update doesn’t really affect me. Since both walls and gates now get to fortified, I always choose gates over wall. Particularly since some walls just can’t be cleaved but a gate can.
The rally restrictions seems really extreme to me for similar reasons as the no-res-in-combat. Especially since you took away the fact that we can rally from dolly’s and quartermasters.
Question about the non-automatic upgrades. How will this affect guild missions? It’s difficult enough for some non-wvw guilds to come in and do Cap-and-Keep missions on large objectives like castles during reset nights. Having that the keep being restricted to dolly’s more heavily might lead to more PvE complainers. (And since I assist a pve guild with their wvw missions, it will not make my Saturdays very pleasant.)
