Returning to GW2 after a very long break from the game. Mostly just looking for a friendly, laid-back sort of group I can enjoy/re-learn the game with. My interest is mostly in dungeons, though I’d love to get back into WvW again as well (For that reason I’d strongly prefer a Tarnished Coast-based guild).
My timezone is Eastern Standard, I have a mic and am fully capable of using whatever voice comms, and my main character is a dungeon-geared Guardian.
If it were announced tomorrow, I wouldn’t be able to throw my money at the screen fast enough.
Pugging is now pretty much impossible…
I don’t have the dev quote readily available, but I believe it was along the lines of…
Dungeons in Guild Wars 2 are designed for organized groups and/or guilds. Not pick-up groups.
At the very least someone should look into the incorrectly named bandit NPCs, as well as the damage/health of certain bosses/trash mobs in there. Not saying make it easy mode, but at least give it some fixes like the other dungeons received.
Getting to be next to impossible to even find a group willing to run the explorable paths in it anymore.
With my current rig being next to ancient, and basically entirely unable to run any current games at a playable framerate, I’m putting together a list of the hardware to be used. Though after doing a bit of research, I’ve heard that this game specifically can have issues with certain newer pieces of hardware.
My question is, will a configuration using the following parts be able to handle GW2 on reasonable settings, in environments such as WvWvW? If not, what would be a viable replacement?
Intel i5 3570K 3.4 GHz
Nvidia EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB DDR5
8 GB RAM
Obviously assuming the OS is Win 7 64-bit, and the power supply is sufficient, can anyone confirm a similar rig working without issues? I’ve read about performance being bottlenecked with certain processors, and low FPS issues on the 600 series of video cards (When turning the camera/moving, specifically).
