WvW Commander Suggestion

Agreed, I like this idea and was discussing with my wife a few days ago, that as it stands right now people are making it one of their “end-game” goal to achieve the title and status, but not what I thought the purpose of the title was for… which was to designate leaders in WvW. At least that is how it seems to me.

This idea would make it so experienced WvW players get the title and can organize and lead in WvW. Aligning with what I thought the title was for.

Definitely worth the money spent. Not just on the game, but gems, and other merchandise.

I'm curious what everyone thinks.

My wife and I visited all the 1-15 areas and were over level 30 before venturing into the first 15-25 area. Exploring all the different lands was also a good way to mix things up. Get tired of all the snow, lets head to Charr lands and their plains.

I agree. One of the things I like about this game is that it seems to foster a sense of camaraderie within the server. Having a forum section for each server would add to this.

From Metrica Province, you would enter the main city, Rata Sum. From there you take the Asura gate to Lions Arch (I believe if you look at the map its at the top of the triangle). From there you are at a spot with an Asura Gate to all the races main cities.

The Little Details. Simply Amazing

The world was crafted with great care here. I love the little details, it helps draw me into the game. Some little things that stand out: Reading bits of books, the epitaphs of all the gravestones (some funny some quite sad), listening in on NPCs talk about things and then stumble upon little events.

This is the first game in a long time, that I can just chill, relax, and enjoy the world, and not have to be constantly fighting.

You can go into setting and map a key to “holster” your weapon under keybinds

Guardian, Ranger or thief?

All the classes are quite fun.

The only advice I would have, is both myself and my wife could decide if we would like the class after the first tutorial quest.

If we felt right playing that, we have enjoyed the class afterwards. If it just didn’t jive, we ended up not enjoying the class as we spent more time with it.

The nice part is that this game very much allows you to play whatever you want.
My favorites are my Ranger and Warrior.

Warrior with a hammer lets me get right in the middle of things and doesn’t feel too squishy.

Ranger is great, and is a blast to manage my pets and their abilities to try to adapt to situations.

A couple of revive stories.

First the bad. Very quickly after launch (didn’t have the problem in headstart or beta) I took a Charr to the human area. Whenever he happened to get downed… no one would stop and revive him. Guess the humans didn’t like the Charr, but it was sort of annoying at the time.

The good story is a bit more fun. My wife and I (and many other players) ran up to get a skill point. As we were all leaving, the last person out got trapped and killed when all the mobs in the area respawned… including a veteran. My wife and I turned around and started clearing the room to revive the player, no one left behind after all. As this was happening, another player ran in to go to the skill point, bringing another 5 mobs with him, which now were on us as we were clearing the room.

We eventually clear the room, and revived the player and got out. We got a nice thank you from that player, and that was quite rewarding. The amusing part was afterwards, that player that trailed the mobs in on us was laying dead outside… which we then revived him

Bottom line… I am looking forward to the Combat Medic title

Things that I enjoy in this game:

Community. Helping people in map chat. Helping my server in WvW. Just being friendly and active with other players.

Playing the market. There are quite a few things that are easy to find, but are selling for a lot right now.

Exploring: Not just doing all the hearts, POIs, and events, but seeing the world, reading books on shelves. Finding events that don’t instantly show up on the map.

Just doing whatever. For the first time in a long while, I am playing a game where I do not always have to be questing. I can sit back and craft, do all the things above, and typically just chill.

So far the attention to detail in this game is great. A world was created where I can have some escapism and just enjoy things.

In summary, what keeps it fun for me, is trying to be helpful and active in the community and enjoying the world that was crafted for us players.
