Go into your BIOS and disable the onboard (built into the motherboard) HD4000. You should find instructions on how to do that in the manual that came with your Computer/Motherboard.

Uh my pc is all in one.

So basically I have 2 gpus in my system, a hd 4000 and some AMD radeon gpu. So I set it up so that whenever I played gw2 I would use the AMD one but the thing is when I open gw2 it has a flashy screen. This doesn’t happen with the hd 4000 or with other games. I would like this to be fixed or if there’s a way of getting around this because I would like to use the AMD gpu as it is better.

In short good connection no crashes, slow connection well you’re kinda screwed.With my old broadband I got a overall of 4mb and with this I get 31mb, test here at http://www.speedtest.net if you have problems with error 7.The best solution is to upgrade to a new broadband.

Well, I’m a genius you can all thank me,the solution for error 7 is your internet connection, I got new broadband yesterday (much better broadband) and I’ve had no problems whatsoever with gw2 since and I can now play properly and haven’t disconnected yet.This should be the solution for you with error 7 but it might not be.It definetely was for me though.Btw gw2 is a epic game

And I am SO eager to try the other races and classes its like torture. But I do believe this is do to my bad internet, I am fairly certain. I am changing my router provider like next month so Ill see if that helps.

Please help I cant create new characters because of this!

Very strange, error 42 randomly appears I game but it doesn’t disconnect me like error 7 when I close the mini tab nothing happens.Basically error 42 has no effect on me.Also I have 2 characters but I can’t create new ones and to create those two I had to try many times until it worked.

My internet connection is stable. The error 7 started happening right after the patch on 12/23. The updated Guild Wars client worked for a little bit, but now I’m back to the error 7’s.

Well im pretty sure that for me is because of my terrible connection.It resembles my lag on other games like 95% sure

Tried all of the “solutions” and still getting error 7 disconnection. This is ridiculous.
When I downloaded the new .exe yesterday, it was working fine. Try logging in today and I get disconnected every few minutes.

Do you have bad internet connection?

Basically like when thinking about what to buy in a shop I disconnect, when in WvW I don’t because I am very active and almost always moving.

I believe for me is because of my lag .I think so because I have terrible internet and I sometimes disconnect from other mmos.Also, in some mmos when I am not very active like viewing a shop I disconnect and I found when playing GW2 I disconnect too.It is very wierd because I once played like 10 minutes before disconnecting and I also played like 2 hours without disconnecting at all.It would help if you guys could state if you guys had bad internet.

Finding it still kinda hard to make characters though, the error comes up whenever I make a new one

At least it saves but kicks me out of the instance

I got it working for about 40 mins then I crashed :/

I even tried the gw2 -repair thing and it didnt work.

I havent tried VPN as most say it gives a virus.

I just bought GW2 on the 23rd downloaded on 24th and tried playing today but when I create a character I get error code 7 from the Far Shiverpeaks server.Please help from the UK.I tried the target line and it didnt work.
