RULE 1: Don’t buy anything from anyone that I can’t actually see before handing over my cash.
You can preview the weapons in your Bank’s wardrobe. You just have to know what the name of the skin is. In this case Privateer. So go to a crafting station or a bank.
Seera, Bbear was talking about the result of opening a chest, not being able to see the weapon skins. If you buy a key, you don’t know what you’re going to get in exchange for that key. If you don’t like what you get, you can’t return or exchange it.
>Why is the set special? Why would we think it’s anything but you testing the waters on how much you can screw over customer before there’s backlash?
I can’t say anything better than that.
I mean, you guys KNOW how much we hate rewards being tied to RNG. THAT IS WHY WE HAVE A PRECURSOR HUNT NOW! Did you forget already? I don’t care how awesome it is, if it’s tied to RNG, that just makes it worse!
The thing is, I have been happily spending real life money to convert to gold to buy weapon skins on the TP so I won’t have to worry about RNG.
I stopped buying black lion keys about six months into having the wardrobe system. I use the ones that I get from playing the game, and I am always so frustrated at the results, it really reinforces my decision to not ever spend real money on keys.
Now you have taken away my ability to buy the skins on the TP, which means I don’t get the skins (which are actually pretty awesome, good job, artists), and you don’t get my money.
Whoever is making these decisions, you need to remember your audience. Think about precursors. Think about how passionate we have been about it, and why you made the decision to create the precursor hunts. Listen to the backlash and realize what that means to this “testing of the waters”, and get a clue. And then make the privateer skins non account bound, please. They really are cool, and I’m bummed to be missing out entirely like this.
>This speaks to a larger communication problem that has existed for some time in this game. Addressing this stuff 3 months after launch is quite frankly unacceptable.
Sigh. Gaile: I came here to say thanks for listening, watching, and responding.
I don’t understand how anyone can read your post saying that you waited a while to see if it would balance out, you made some mistakes you plan to fix, and you are going to make other improvements, and rant like this.
Do I think the cost of scribing has been pretty ridiculous? Yep. Does it mean that our guild, with 300+ members, two of whom are in the top-20 AP list (and have cash on hand that accompanies that amount of gameplay) and with 20-60 people logged in at any given time, only has a few dozen decorations? Yep.
But seriously, READ THE OP. There’s a reason why it didn’t get fixed the first time, or thousand times, people asked for a change.
I 100% completed Verdant Brink the other day and haven’t had a problem with fog, but didn’t get a reward. I wasn’t sure if that was intended or was a bug.
Is that the 100% reward that is being referred to in this thread – lack of reward for completing the new maps? Or is this thread referring to something that pertains to 100% FULL WORLD map completion?
Thanks guys
The people demand access to tonics! Down with tonic prohibition! If I want to drink myself into a chimeric stupor, I should be able to do so!
I took the time to log in JUST so that I could thumbs up this comment.
These are beautiful and make a lot of sense, if they can be managed with other movement (run/strafe/etc). Basically just typing to meet the word limit. Love it.
I meant to add that I appreciate being able to get gem items via in game work. Technically, I could have done so previously by converting gold to gems, but this is a more direct way and it feels nice to have another option offered to me. I know a lot of people disagree, but that’s how I feel about it.
Also, when I noticed people posting cat pix originally I thought it would be fun, but when I noticed the naming convention I realized I have to!
Here’s Pippin:
perfect listing of everything about it
I agree with every word Invictus posted. There were more players than mobs, and the mobs didn’t last very long when they did pop. I had trouble hitting things before they died. Grabbing the exploding pods became a competition. I had to invest 30 minutes of FOCUSED, uninterruptible gameplay to get a reward. Killing things without even getting XP for killing them was demoralizing. (Someone said they didn’t even contribute to stacks of bloodlust…. yikes.) I had to decide whether I would play this thing while it lasted or play other game modes with a focus on gaining money, because you can’t do both at the same time. There was a strong temptation to just hit a couple things and move on, to be sure I had hit enough events.
On the other hand, I was really glad to see that there were different mechanics involved. Thank you for setting up this event. I hope you guys get enough constructive criticism and suggestions to help in planning future events that evoke a more satisfying response from us, to help your job feel more rewarding. I realize all the complaining must be demoralizing. I hope you know there are a lot of us that have your backs, even when you don’t hit home runs.
I realize it’s a bit late for posting here. I thought I had posted this already and I don’t see it here now… But, I wanted to chime in.
Here’s what I had:
I traited my tempest in fire, arcana, and tempest, with scepter/warhorn and the celestial gear, and found that in PvE
- when I was in fire attunement I was unstoppable. As soon as I swapped out to try the other things, my DPS seemed to go WAY, WAY, WAY down. Part of this could be that I just don’t know the scepter skills (user error), but I definitely felt like when I was in water and earth, in particular, my HP just drained away. As soon as I swapped back into fire, I killed everything like crazy. I did trait the +10% dmg in fire trait, but this was wayyy more than 10%.
- I didn’t like the shouts. I think part of this was because I was playing solo, and I needed DPS more than I needed CC or boons. They sound fine, but I just didn’t feel like they were helping much in my solo play.
- the overloads were pretty cool, although I kept trying to do water overload as my health was approaching zero and I wouldn’t be able to get it cast/channeled and would get downed. The worst part was being interrupted while overloading. I don’t know if it would be OP if it was uninterruptible, but maybe they could put in a trait for that and make you choose between that and the cooldown…?
- The warhorn skills’ cooldown was too long.
While working on my Guardian’s traits…errr… specializations, I was looking at the perfect inscriptions trait combined with wrath of justice. I noticed that the tooltip for signet of wrath’s description in the trait window (for use via wrath of justice) does not update to indicate that it is affected by perfect inscriptions.
Then I started playing with it to see if the trait granted the passive effect of the signet. It doesn’t. However, when the actual skill signet of wrath is equipped in the toolbar and the trait triggers (justice activated and used on a foe), WRATH OF JUSTICE TRAIT TRIGGERS SIGNET OF WRATH ON THE SKILL BAR AND TRIGGERS ITS COOLDOWN ON THE TOOLBAR.
I doubt this is working as intended.
