What are your Macs specs? Are you sure you’re deleting the Guild Wars 2 Application Support folder inside your HIDDEN user library? have you made any tweaks to any files to do with Guild Wars 2? Have you tried opening Disk Utility and Repairing permissions?

I’m on a iMac 2.8 i7, 12g RAM, 10.6.8 – I know this OS is older then they recommend but hasn’t been a real problem in the past. And yes I’m deleting the right support folder… I’ve done this many times, without any real significant improvement. I’ll try disk utility, maybe that will help… will keep ya posted if that fixes things

I’m having this same problem… the above process didn’t work for me either.

Usually it takes me 2-5 times attempting to launch, to get to the character screen… now its 15x+

This is not good! Please advise, or patch this patch!!

In sadder news, my client is having real problems launching since the update. Usually takes me 2-5 times launch to get game started, now its more like 5-10. Even have deleted library files, but that never really worked for me anyways.

Nope, at the world select screen theres a drop-down at the top to switch zones. Unfortunately it costs about 1800 gems for a good server switch.

Tarnished Coast is the US Roleplaying server and has a great, helpful and friendly community; alotta people will recommend this one to you.

TC appears to be full at this time

Also Blackgate and Jade Quarry… guess I’ll have to find another or wait for an opening.

Yes but its a pricey process… you gotta pay gems for the service. I even emailed customer support asking for a one time transfer, and they refused saying this was out of their control, and that transfer all all dealt with in their system which can’t be manually adjusted. A little frustrating to say the least…

What kind of fighting do you want from WvW? Higher tiers will have more often a larger zerg running around, lower tiers have a zerg, just not as big with the possiblity of small man squad doing things a bit more frequently.

I guess just a middle range, as I’m not the most epic of players, but I still got my two 80’s one warrior and one mesmer. I guess I’m not super experienced in WvW, but I’d like a balanced and tough enough team, as we’re getting our rears whupped in Ring of Fire ATM.

So for some reason (don’t ask) I picked a European server, Ring of Fire to be exact, when I created my GW account. Now I find myself playing in the evening when everyone else is sleeping in Europe. I enjoy playing with others so this can get a little dull, and recently have been getting into WvW a bit. I need to make a server change, once I save up enough gold to buy gems to transfer, and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for good US servers. (especially since this is pricey I only want to do it once)

I have been having the same exact problem. I delete the preferences folder after each failed attempt and finally after 5-15 tries, somehow it magically makes it past the black screen of death. Really frustrating that I have to waste my time just starting the game…. PLEASE FIX ASAP!!!

Tried this folder delete method many times, then finally it worked once! I got to the world select screen, and once I clicked the world, Little Snitch interfered and the whole game froze out. I have GW2 allowed on all connections but this new one didn’t have permissions. Not I’m back to the ol black screen, then nothing. I keep deleting the application support folder, but can’t get back to this entry screen. Please fix!!!
