I can’t tell you exactly what tools the artists at ArenaNet use, however in general you’d probably find zbrush and Maya / 3DS Max are very commonly used in the Games Industry…

Really curious to see how they have approached this, and how it works in practice.

I’m convinced that implementing the “tool” was the easy part. The hard part is making it such that it doesn’t take the whole game in an “unhealthy” direction.

For one thing, I hope that it allows for grouping with like-minded players with similar goals. So group together people who want to do a dungeon for the experience, and group together those who want to speed-farm for the rewards.

After reading the “Why no /inspect” thread, if this turns out to be a carbon copy of how WoW’s random LFD works, then I’d anticipate a hell of a lot of /kicking and very little dungeon completion.

What kind of GW2 gamer are you?

Very refreshing to see a thread that isn’t trying to just pigeon-hole everyone into one of two non-existent labelled boxes, namely “casual” & “hardcore”.

OP, you’re on a similar vein to the Bartle Test…
