Guild Wars 2

I have been playing GW1 and GW2 since their release dates. I have been an avid collector of miniatures since the start. It’s my big vanity thing that I just love and am happy with in both games.

But then came today’s update…which I loved because of all the new features with the miniatures, binding them to my account to summon any on any character. And I don’t have to click them to resummon on login or entering a new map!

But a few minutes after the update, I start playing in explorable maps…and my minis are gone. I can’t see them. I think it is ludicrous that the lovely miniature update has been basically nullified by this decision to hide the minis when the map is not even remotely full. In fact, just now I am playing in Sparkfly Fen, my mini is hidden because of “rising amount of players”, then two minutes later I get a popup stating this map is getting low amount of players, and if I’d like to volunteer to move to a higher populated one, I’d get a buff to XP, karma etc. YET, I still cannot summon my mini in this (two minutes later) supposed low population map instance. How does this make sense? Why go through all the trouble to make an awesome feature to the minis that so many players love, then we can’t see any of them anyway… It angers me, there has to be some workaround.

Please address this for all of us who love our little companions.

Although we have around 40 ranger pets already, I would love to see a lot more variety in species.

1. Top of my list…a turtle.

Would be a great pet with high toughness, possible a better tank than bears. Just look back at GW1, their siege turtles. And they didn’t move slow so that’s not an issue. They should be amphibious

2. Crab/shellfish of some type. Also amphibious

3. How about pets that are already available in game, but not to players. Look at the ogres, they can tame raptors, and griffons…

4. Perhaps more aquatic variety too. All we have at the moment is a shark, an armor fish, and a few jellyfish.

I’d also like to suggest/emphasize on the acquisition of pets. It is too boring/easy to ‘tame’ a pet currently. At least on guild wars 1 you had the pet fight back while it was being charmed. Wild animals don’t just sit there while you master them, or attempt to.

Maybe add some fancier pets with an achievement line to go through steps to acquire them. Like the black moa bird or even the phoenix from GW1.

Anyone else have any other ideas list them below.
