Hello,
could someone explain me how exactlly the Guild Challenger rating is working?
I understand that you lose some rating due to inactivity but our team had 1398 rating.
Some of us were on vacation for 7 days so we could not play and now our rating has
dropped to 1080!!!
There are teams with higher rating that us that have a 0-3 record!!!
hope so! cause now each win only gives 2% so i have to make like 20 wins in a raw to make it again to where i was, while other people are top 1000 with a score of 7-6…
Seriously any reply for someone from anet would be appreciated!!
Seriously is this some kind of joke???
I played the new solo pvp matches. I got 14-10 wins loses.
A friend of mine had 8-7.
So he was position 667 and i was 850.
We both log on 2 days after. He is position 700 and i am at 56% !!!!!!!!!!!!!?
WTF is this some kind of joke????
I agree that no one can tell yet. The truth is that PvP in this game keeps “losing points” .
The main reason people are leaving the game is nothing to do but playing 1 round “tournaments” !! It can become boring for competitive players.
It is disscussed many times in these forums so no point in mentioning again what are the main problems of pvp. But unless Something is done in the near future pvp community will keep dropping
Although losing rating for inactivity isn’t exactlly fair…
If someone goes 10 days for vacation he shouldn’t be dropped. There are many fair ways to keep a ranking system, starting with the minimum matches played. There should be a minimum of 100 games.Inactivity could not drop rating but make players “invisible” to the rankings until they play a game again.
Nah, leaderboards are competitive – not casual. If you don’t play, you shouldn’t be rewarded for it – and keeping your rating is a reward.
Totally disagree. Competitive does not mean you can not have a life or a family or leave for 10 days. Like they mentioned before, you can just disappear from rankings till you play games again

Couldn’t agree more with thi thread.
This is a big issue. Rewarding inactivity is totally wrong. Best players that deserve to be in the top 1000 are those who keep playing and keep winning.
Luthan i forgot to mention one of the most serious problem is sPvP … Leavers.
There should be a serious penalty for leavers. It is really annoying and some serious consideration is needed on this.
First of all excuse me for my English but it is not my mother language.
As indicated by the title i do not mean to make an other crying flaming post. I really love playing this game, but i hope that some thoughts are red by the devs.
Me and many people from my Guild are in sPvP. I perosnally find all posts that say “nerf this, nerf that” pointless. The gameplay is really great, of course it can always be improved, but seriously is this the main problem you have guys?? The reasons most people i know start losing interest in the game are :
1) There is absolutely no content atm. We have 2 options. Either play random matches or play “tournaments”.
Random matches are unplayable since you can not join with your team (the teams are randomlly generated) , and people come and go during the match. So sometimes you might be playing 3vs5 , then you might have to swap team etc etc. Their only purpose is to try and learn a new build.
“Tournaments” are not tournaments!!! I am a tournament organiser in Trading Card Games for many years now, and i find it really silly when we refair to a 2 team fight as a Tournament! It is just a simple match and after having played many of them it becomes boring.
2) Ranking system makes people play less. Many people do not play since they are afraid that their ranking will Drop. I can not blame them for that but it makes creating a group harder. Some people are in the top 1000 for a long time now having played only 30 matches. Ranking system should reward players for playing more IMO.
3) There is no possible way for a Guild to train or play and have fun in PvP. If we enter random matches, random players will join and we will not be able to split the teams the way we want. If we enter a tournament high ranked players will probably drop a lot of ranking to help the new ones improve… the game is called GUILD WARS guys. Give power to the guilds. Make it possible for guildmates to play together.
4) Tournament “fixed” maps makes you change your build (and even your class sometimes) in order to make the best team composision for the specific map. Bringing up Random Maps in tournaments is something that almost anyone would love to see.
In conclusion, the game has lost , and keeps losing many PvP fans. The main reasons are not the “bugs” neither the OP classes etc etc. I believe it is the reasons i mentioned above. PvP needs Fixing, before this great potential game becomes an other warhammer online…

I totally agree. Thats the main problem of Guild Wars 2. It has nothing to do with Guilds!!!
Give motivation to Guilds, this would be a huge boost. Everyone would love to have their own Guild Arena, and have Guild pvp Rankings. Solo Queing is what makes people leave this game.
Why exactlly is it not acceptable for a company to try and earn money from her product? Of course they will try to make money, and of course it should be totally acceptable by everyone. No one creates a game so that you can play free!!
The problem with pvp is that it needs much more stuff , so that it gives motivation to all of us to play. Custum arenas is something nice, i just disagree with the top 50 players been able to create an arena at he beggining. Arenas should go to Guilds, so that Guild members can train and learn to play better.
My Guild would have like 20 more players playing tournaments if we had an arena to help them learn how to play.
I personally find it wrong that people get ranked after 10 games.
There are people who just played 10 games in the first days , and never played pvp again, and still it is is impossible for us to reach their rating!
In my Guild my team whas an average rating of 60%. So a friend of us buys the game. He still has absolutely no idea how to use his Guardian, but after playing with us he has 11 wins and 2 loses , and a rating of 85% because he plays only with us, while the rest of us try to help all guild members learn pvp.
I thing there is something wrong with that… Rating should be applied after much more games IMO.
I was wondering the same thing!!!
My team keeps playing alltogether. 3 people used to be at 50%.
Afte 3 wins 1 of us is at 55% one at 60% and one still at 50% !!!
I noticed that now we can see our rank when we log in to the leaderboards.
So Could someone explain what the rank percentance % next to our names is?
I do not mean the win %.
I have a 60% rank but what does it stand for?
Is there a plan of changing the way we enter in the Dungeon?
As a Guild Leader it is extremly hard for me to organise people in playing this Dungeon.
It forces people to “split” into permanent groups that only play together. So some members are left behind to different Fractal levels and can not play together with others.
Isn’t it possible to find a different way , so thet people can play together?
(lets say to enter in the higher player’s Fractal level , and then each player to advance one step from their previous level)
