Basically they’ve hinted that they know new game modes would be nice for casuals but conquest is for tournaments and tournaments are the only thing they are concerned about. I assume they are having internal discussions and maybe some mild development of new game modes but realistically I think it’s likely that we will be playing SPVP for 1 whole year before we get a single new game mode.

What a shame, because PvP is really what i like to do at high lvl and as a “end game” status. WvW can be fun, but its not for competition like TPvP.

So will we see other game modes "soon"?

First of all i really like the idea of SPvP, however i dislike the game mode. As it have it fun parts it have more frustrating elements… Maybe thats just me.

Here are some of the things i dont like about SPvP.
-There’s no progress in the game, you basicly do the same thing untill one the teams won.
-It quickly feels one big blur of uncontrolled chaos (And specialy in non tournament).
-Bad matchmaking in TPvP if any or not enough players playing it.
-Some profession balance issues.
-Downed state feels bad for SPvP, since there´s way to much difference in the skills between the professions.

I would like to see something new, like with “stages” where early game and late game isnt the same. You feel a progress, and where every game isnt the same and you can adjust to turn it around, if things dosnt turn out good for your team. So i dont mean CTF, but maybe you earn “gold” inside each game to buy items, which would make some sort of progress. Gold would be earned by killing enemies and other things arenanet might think off (This is not thought of to be added to the current game mode, but a new game mode).

But really anything but this current game mode i would like to give a shot, since i dont find it funny most of the games. I hope for something new, rather than just making adjustments.

So im wondering if i stack these runes:

-x2 Superior rune of the centaur: +25 power, +15% bleed duration
-x2 Superior rune of the afflicted: +28 condition dmg, +15% bleed duration
-x2 Superior rune of the krait: +28 condition dmg, +15% bleed duration

Will it stack up to 45% extra bleed duration? Or will it just be 15%?

A nice change would simply be,

1) Thieves cannot heal and remove conditions under stealth,

Or regen endurance

Thiefs really needs a big stealth nerf, so they cant be in stealth ALL THE TIME. They dont need any buff to make up for which is overpowered now. They already choose when they wanna fight, because its absolute pointless to engage a thief. They have shadowstep, signet of shadows, and stealth. If they need more survivabillity than that they choose engage the wrong targets because thiefs is the only class which really controls when they wanna be fighting or not.

Just FYI, downed stealth last 2 seconds, thats huge.

It is huge. Specialy because thiefs also have shadow escape. They are so much harder to finish than a ranger or even guardian.

If finding a class boring to fight is cause for a nerf demand, I need to start up a number of threads about bunker builds of various classes because I find chipping away at one person for a relatively long time to be extremely boring.

I’m not quite sure why people think that a class that is designed for roaming and mobility ‘has to commit’ when they attack when the entire class design is based around engaging and disengaging at will. You folks do realize that thieves have almost no damage mitigation right? No invulns, no protection, nothing except dodging and stealth (which doesn’t mitigate damage). You want a thief to have to stay out of stealth and be unable to escape? You’ve gotta be putting down some recommendations for ways to make the thief more viable for prolonged combat because right now they don’t have much.

Its because if you beat a thief you wont actualy have finished him off, you will just have made him go stealth and run away… And btw i would love to trade all my damage mitigation skills on any class to one stealth abillity where i can just run away and hide in safety.

I’m sorry guys, but fight against a guy that i know he may run away at any time, in a fight when i manage to avoid his first burst,

In a fight that when i’m starting to take the lead he becomes invisible so I AoE and attack with my chain attack on the air like a kitten without any clue if i’m hitting him or no,

In a fight that i manage to put him on 1/4 of his life, goes invisible again and comes back again fully healed and keeps hitting me while i try to AoE and i keep hitting the air without any clue if i’m hitting him or no,

In a fight when now i’m at 1/4 and he comes back, again… fully healed without any condition and keeps hitting me while i keep dodging and hitting the air, knowing that if i manage to put him on 1/4 of his life… yes, you know what will happen,

It’s… super… boring…

As i said, against a competent player is just boring, and i can’t get away, best i can do is to give him a good reason to find somebody else easy to kill instead me, i know i won’t be able to kill him,

And i’m playing a necro, the “attrition class” acording Anet, (jokes aside)

That’s my main class and i have a lot of experiencie with it,

I play a warrior and a ranger too, the combat changes just to end in the same way…

I 100% agree, this is the issue with thiefs!

Thiefs have WAY to many ways in PvP and WvW to escape. Its like they dont have to commit one tiny bit to what they are doing. Things go wrong, go stealth again, or swap to your short bow and shoot your self completely out of range. Stealth just feels horrible broken, not to mention when they break stealth they are still not vissible for about 1-2 seconds even though they attack you. Another issue with stealth is they can finish players from it and be healed up when downed inside stealth. However i feel like skills like elixir s and any kind of stealth should remove the option to finish and heal downed players. Stealth is ok, but once you are out of it you should commit to your attacks.

Plus downed skills are probaly the most unballanced thing in this game considered PvP. Moving around in mist forms and stealthing is way too strong compared to an engineer or warrior, who can throw one CC before getting finished. Remake downed system into 3 skills for every class.

Skill 1, as it is now.
Skill 2, Single target CC (stun, fear, knockback, pull, etc.).
Skill 3, heal your self.

Im using a tanky bomber engi build, bet yet when go from my exotic rifle to bomb kit i fall 200 power, and about 70 toughness/vit.

Like they did with sigils, they need to do with weapon stats, so they apply on kits as well. Or if they want each kit to have specific stats they have to increase the stats depending on your weapon lvl and rarity.

Im the only engi who would like to see this happend?

Its very rare to see so many complaints on forum category like this one have. I think this is a highly critical situation, because when something receive so many complaints there must be something wrong.

So what are they working on? What can we expect soon, and what might take a year or two before we get to see it? There’s really two major issues.

-Class Balance.
-New game modes (Like CTF or Deathmatch)

So will we see any of these two 2013? Im really tired of always fighting the strongest class´s for SPvP and therefor the most played. In one of the pre-release videos, we were told the game is more about player skill than actualy pressing the right buttons and having the right build. I dont believe it is, in its current state.

And I personly would love a game mode with progress. (Not CTF or DM) Like one of the team has to defend a keep the other one has to capture it. Once its captured the teams swap position and whoever captured it fastest won. Or maybe a complete “MOBA” setup. Start with a small amount of gold to buy a starter item and then go farm easy Skritt minions and kill enemy players to get more gold and buy stronger items only for that match. Destroy the enemy towers, get to their “crystal of power” destroy it and win.

Yes they read it, they just don’ t have time to spend responding to every single thread here, if you saw Jon Peters on that call with some other players earlier this month, he explained the process.

I dont understand why they dont just post it? Make a resumé of it, link the video, or audio and post it with a name like “Upcoming changes for SPvP”?

Imagine the rage if they posted they were thinking about buffing engis with this one change, and then they couldn’ t add it to the next patch. Making promises will just make the community more disconnected.

As it is now, it feels like they make a few class balances and maybe adding or changing a little on the current game mode. This make players feel like that Arenanet are happy with this one game mode, which a big part of the SPvP players dislike. And if you stay long enough, the game will slightly get better balanced every patch. Which means if you are pretty unhappy with the current state, you will either drop SPvP or completely drop the game if you wanted the game for its SPvP. Its feels a little like standby, its there but yet nothing big is happening. And with so many complains something big has to happend. Im not saying to get rid of this game mode, but maybe add another one?

Thieft nerf = thumbs up

I never get to actualy fight a thief, either they kill me extremely fast or the thief is taking more dmg than he wanted and go instant stealth and dissapears.

Where to get or find back trinkets?

Hi, i were running a support spec for a while and then changed it into “dps” and now im stuck with a back trinket that has healing and toughness, since i selected that for reward when i had a support build.

So im wondering how to earn or find a new back trinket? Im lvl 80 and only need to do Arah before im done with story.

Travel cost at higher lvls

Im bringing this up because i seem to spending to much on traveling. Here’s some examples why i believe its too exspensive to travel.

-I go to SPvP or WvW for a while, ending up in Lions Arch when done, and have to spend a little over 3s to get back to cursed shore or another high lvl place.

-I do my personal story and it tells me to talk with somebody in Fort Trinity, which cost about 1-2s then i have to travel to a new place where the story is now. So im ending up speding the reward i just got from the story quest.

-Im trying to find more members to do a dungeon, i gotta travel to a high lvl location so i can search for players via the “map” chat. Thats 6s, (back and forth) and the dungeon might fail ending up costing much in repairs as well, with no end reward.

A high lvl event almost gives 2s. Maybe events should just give more and travel stay as it is?

What do you think? Is it fair enough prices?
