Thank you for the assistance and attention given to this error.
My husband also was still unable to play (connecting from South-Africa), however the VPN solution below corrected the issue and we can now play just fine without it.
The solution is to download a VPN run it and the client will begin updating. Once the client begins to download you can shut down the VPN.

Unable to login using any character on my account after the new build a few minutes ago.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
I can login to character selection, but as soon as i try to login a character the client restarts…

Why only consumables?
I’m pretty sure, some elementalist would love to put his spare staff into such a bar for quick weapon swapping purposes
Weapon swapping as you suggested can only take place out of combat.
Something this Quickbar suggestion is not meant for. Its meant to provide In combat support.

It would be also be nice and funny if there will be a quaggan, skritt or hylek pet who spouts random quotes like those of the GW1 henchies.
Sounds like slave trading to me lol, would be awesome if the idea was applied to mini;s however.
I would like to suggest Branded creatures and Elite pets, like the Mistfire Wolf.

I dont agree. Henchmen in dungeons?! Why?! There’s no need for them, if you cant get the game mechanics under, what makes you think a henchmen following you will do?
I understand the reasons though and for some PvE cases i agree, just not with Dungeons. Even if henchmen were to come into gw2 i would suggest they be banned from dungeons. Its the one place where you Have to find a grp and play together.

I like the Spectator mode suggestion, like the one you had in GW1. Lying with your face on the floor is nooooo fun at all.
