The empowered vigor plus hard to catch plus upperhand gives quite a lot of evades which makes daredevil multiplicatively stronger. With absolutist, and 560vit/toughness, you are tanky as heck
I felt tanky on my thief before (yes, I ran a bunker thief) and I feel totally fine now
These are good changes, except for removing Soldier. Soldier is a decent amulet that’s not game-breaking like celestial was.
There’s a PVT amulet to replace it, Paladin.
1050 Power, 1050 Precision, 560 Toughness, 560 Vitality.
are you kidding? there is a huge difference between paladins and soldiers amulet..
just besides soldier gives 440 more vit and thoughness so it is far more defensiv. Paladin is an rather offensive amulet and provides way highter dps than soldiers..im fact he was right removing soldier will remove build diversity. it never made any problems or was used for op builds. And soldier wasnt a meta option in the last 3 years..
While I generally think you’re right, soldier was not the problem, there were some specific healing-centric druid builds that were basically unkillable with soldier. Druid (and many other classes) doesn’t need much if any healing power to heal like crazy, which is a scaling problem with healing power, and not a problem with the amulet itself
Scrapper was another one who fell under this, as it’s healing skills scaled like crap
One thing that bugs me here
Healing power is pathetic on some healing abilities, non existent on others, and nutso overpowered on others
Soldiers was removed without a good reason besides that it’s bunkery
It has no sustain. It doesn’t have healing power. The problem is so many heals in the game don’t scale sensibly on healing power, especially aoe team heals, which means that with no healing power at all, they’re strong, and with tons of healing power, ever so slightly stronger, so soldiers builds don’t feel the loss
If healing power worked more sensibly, where your healing skill worked fairly normally for self healing, regardless of healing power, and all of the other heals scaled well on healing power with terrible bases, toughness and vitality wouldn’t be a big deal
My warrior uses a signet for stability. 8 seconds with 8 stacks.
If I get hit by 8 CCs in 8 seconds, I’m doing something wrong.
As to healing signet
ACTUALLY, healing surge is infact stronger
If you start a fight, and then suddenly take 10k burst damage, surge it right back, then 30 seconds latter surge again, you actually healed more health than healing signet would have ever done.
The problem is, you have to think. Healing signet over multi-minute battles will heal more health, but the difference is fairly small.
The front loading that healingsurge does makes it stronger.
Now given that: I still run healing signet. The reason is, I don’t have to think about it, and it starts healing before I drop low enough to need to run surge. Also, it can’t be interrupted. I can lose 3k health, and gain it back, getting back up to full without ever needing to use the skill at all.
The lack of cognitive function required to use it actually makes it stronger, because I can’t mess up the timing. It also makes my trait that gives 100 additional toughness over 90% health kick in a lot more often.
Has it been confirmed that they are working on it?
One of the trait lines is called duelist

Phantasmal Berserker sometimes isn’t doing any damage, at all.
It seems to be a timing issue. Before the patch on 11/15/12, the berserker would hit 3 times, and now it only hits one, against it’s primary target. Sometimes it misses completely, and doesn’t do any damage. The whirl damage area is starting later than it used to.
Please revert this timing back to pre 11/15/12
This drops phantasmal berserker damage so low, I’m better off doing auto attack. It’s far lower than any other phantasm.
Also, with the new LOS change, even when I have clear LOS (I zoomed in and checked from head point of view to make sure) vs an enemy on a wall in WvW, I often can’t summon phantasms, due to obstruction.
My suggestion to fix that, have the LOS check for an arc, instead of a linear LOS.
Mirrorblade hits fine, while greatsword auto attack gets obstructed continuously. Having LOS check as an arc would fix the issue.
I keep missing with phantasmal berserker, and it barely does any damage anymore? What happened? Everything seems fine!

I really love the mechanics of guildwars 2… but I have a single major gripe that is really killing the game for me.
Sure, some mechanics here or there are wonky (I’m looking at you grenade kit), but that’s really not important.
Now the big initial rush is cooling down, I’m having a huge issue.
The missing bit, is social interaction.
The problem stems from some core mechanical issues. For one, dynamic events are great, but you never get the urge to group with people while doing them, since everyone gets credit. You can go about them alone. Everyone gets their 2 minute meetup, and then disperses, never saying a word.
Then there are issues with hearts. You can’t get credit for the same heart twice, so if you have half the hearts, and your buddy has half the hearts, then it just won’t work.
Then you have personal story quests… some of them you can bring group members in, some of them you can’t, often a no-go one right after a perfectly fine one. There is also something about them that is also inherently personal (like stepping in the middle of a movie, half way) that makes people avoid grouping with you in them.
In every major MMO I’ve ever played, there were chat channels. I don’t mean say map group or guild… those are basic simple ones… I’m talking about custom channels, both private and public, as well as public topic (trade, help, the tavern, etc) themed channels. Even if I do get in a good map conversation, oop, personal story put me in an instance, breaking my map chat.
Yes, we have guilds… my guild has about 5-6 people on max at a time, even with like 40 people are registered. That’s not enough.
Then lets say I do have friends in my contact list, from the basic game hud, I can’t see who’s online or not, without constantly opening a menu… and then you can’t talk to more than one of them at a time.
In WOW, when I played years and years ago, I had an optional HUD segment that let me see who was online or not at a glance, click their name, without opening a huge thing, and send them a message. That’s a big deal. I would ee who’s on, at all times, and don’t have to keep typing /tell name, when dealing with multiple people. Makes it way easier
I play MMOs to socially interact, and this isn’t working. Please implement fixes to these issues.
