Ahh but it’s a US server – I live in Europe, so I guess I’ll be on when everyone else is sleeping :/
And here I was getting all excited….
I started playing a few weeks ago – or maybe we’re coming up on a month actually – and after taking some time to get the basics down I’m now looking for a guild to join.
I’ve tried quite a few professions so far, and I’m still not 100% on what my main will be but I feel rather drawn to my Thief right now. Past few days I’ve been focusing on sPvP and I’m really enjoying it, but I would really like to have a few guildies around to play with – hot joins can be a chore as I’m sure you all know.
My Thief runs a bit of a Glass Cannon/Quick Getaway build and I try to focus on capping points and taking out those who wander too far from their buddies – get the job done quick and be on my way. If things go south I usually stealth and wait for a better time to strike. I’m not very experienced, so I have loads to learn still in both PvE and PvP.
I’m 32 years old, living in Denmark and blessed with both a girlfriend and a son who is two and a half years old, so yes I’m a casual with a capital C. I’ve played EVE Online, SWG, abit of DAoC, bit of Guild Wars, Age of Conan and lots of WoW so MMO wise I’m pretty experienced.
I’m a pretty mellow ,friendly guy and pretty easy to get along with, who would just like someone to share the adventure with.
My characters are currently on the Underworld server, but I’m willing to transfer to any server really.
I just started playing a few weeks ago and like all other MMOs before it, Guild Wars 2 also has me sitting in a corner unable to choose a class.
My Thief is level 15 now and I enjoy it, but I’d like to try out a few more classes to see what fits me best before I make up my mind – specifically Warrior, Guardian and Engineer. What level would you guys say I should reach with each of these to get a decent idea of how each class plays?
Playing two characters is not really an option – I don’t enjoy dividing my attention so I want to focus on one.
I hope you guys are willing to offer your opinion on this.
Thank you!
I just started playing a week ago or so and I’ve hit level 14 with my Silvary Thief.
Along the way I’ve been gathering and salvaging and not I’m unsure whether I should start crafting gear and/or weapons or just continue gathering and selling the materials.
Honestly I’ve almost decided to just gather and sell, but I wanted to come here and make sure I’m not kittening myself completely if I do this?
Any piece of advice is welcomed, thanks!
Putting 40 exotic level 80 Staffs into the Mystic Forge and guess what happened?

Rhok’delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers
It’s not legendary, it’s not GW2, but it’s a prime example of how things like this should be done.
All this RNG seems stupid – is putting oodles of expensive items in the forge and crossing your finger the only way of getting these items? I just started playing, so I’m a bit in the dark here.
That being said – OP, you pretty much knew exactly what you were getting in to right?

I agree that this should be explained more carefully in the character creator.
Personally I noticed it, but only after fiddling with the creater for a long time so I guess I kinda stumbled upon it. Really all that needs to be done is add a line of text:
“Sylvari pulsate in the dark. Hit the “show lighting” button to see the effects". Preferrably phrased better, but that could eliminate problems like the one the OP is facing.
To you OP, if it REALLY bothers you consider rerolling if you’re still low level. It could potentially be a long while before you get the chance to change it ingame.
Personally I would love the option to change appearances ingame aswell and hopefully it’s something we will see later, but who knows when.
Oh and hi everyone, it’s my first post here
