Guild Wars 2

I played the prior BWEs as Rev mostly. I did try out DH right when it came out but it felt flat. I enjoyed it for the most part as I’ve said for years that the only thing the guardian needs for me is a 1200 range and a longbow.

I enjoyed the kitten out of it this past BWE and it swayed me over to the DH camp as a main. I’ll say this about it though; I’m not certain I enjoy the way how the traps are setup (ie at your feet without being able to place them). It’s a little difficult to use for PVE events in particular. sPVP it wouldn’t be a problem when you’re the focus target.

The Longbow skills were great, I enjoyed LB2 and managed to get some serious hard hits. (I used soldier armor with scholar runes). I was in the 6-9k range on crits, it has a 4 second CD as well, it felt pretty hard hitting for the root trade off. (Risk vs Reward)

I’m actually more conflicted on the heal above all else. While it’s very strong. (in my opinion the second strongest heal in the game behind Infusion of Light, A.E.D and heal gyro tk+hammer double leap being tied for first.) In a PVE situation when I’m with a group, there’s no sure-fire chance that I’m going to be able to get a mob to stand on my trap and get the big heal. Not sure how to go around it either, maybe add a passive regen to it?

I’m actually torn. I loved living story season 2, and I wanted to help out Anet with stuff but I was like: “NO! I DON’T WANT SPOILERS! I WANT TO WAIT FOR MY CAKE!”

I wasn’t fond of Trahearne, from the perspective of a human character he was a scene stealer. lol.

I know those feels. I’ve been wanting a rev on live for a while. I do have and enjoy playing all professions though.

I will admit, I was underwhelmed by the revenant from what I saw on the initial live stream. Very much a meh reaction. When rev beta came up though, I tried it with my full intention being: I wanna learn this class for sPVP.

After about an hour it really, really clicked. I knew there was more work ahead (we only had 9 utility skills for one, no underwater skills) but I really, realllly, reeeeallly loved it. I hope we don’t have to wait that much longer for the next event. I’m even prepping money on the side to get that possible gemstore armor if it drops.

I’m hyped.

Oh we tried to go after SM. Actually, last night I was with a Commander that took it straight to SM. Problem was holding it after that. I took a break and came back and it was gone. :’(

I got a PM from Madember. My friend(s) and I are discussing it now trying to decide if uprooting and starting over is the best thing to do at this point. We love a good community and guild team, but would be hesitant to up and move simply to be alone somewhere else helping another guild full of people we don’t get to play with. Is there ANY consistent night team there to speak of at this point, or is it pretty much non existant?

The spread is a bit thin but has been growing in small increments. I know a general amount of my time is spent on those hours and these still tends to be some form of presence. Obviously the choice is yours but it wouldn’t be the worse possible decision.

At the end of the day though, when push comes to shove, don’t leave friends just to come to TC or anything like that. I don’t think anyone would suggest that. See if you can get people who are interested and take it from there, y’know? As much as extra combat crews would be appreciated, I don’t want it to be at the expense of you playing with your friends.

There’s also Zudoari, I swear he’s like a gold mine in EB. I just follow him and I get a ton of karma and coins.

I loved my playing this weekend though we’re thoroughly getting wiped once everyone’s asleep. I got on Sunday morning and saw one of the Commanders. We were pushing EB but had little effect. So we decided to xfer to a different borderland and pushed all out, reclaiming half the map in the process.

I had some amazing skrimishes with BG, including somehow getting pushed back from TCG when we were trying to take it back (moral victory at this point), somehow on my thief I managed to sneak past a whole crowd of BGers in the courtyard, out into the field and safely in Woodhaven. It was good times.

Having fun thus far, I want to be top level on my thief but I can’t. I really should level outside of WvW
