Oh c’mon how many people really stay naked in a dungeon and really have no money(!) to repair? About 0,1% of it? so 99.9% must live with gold sellers and botters?
And yes if someone goes into a dungeon with less then some silver in their pocket i would blame them and not anet.
If you want to send gold to a friend, your wife or what-so-ever you like, use a guild bank. You can live with that option.
You can still send items directly to your friends, so thats no problem at all.
How often you need to send direct gold? Almost never. Send the item and thats it – and if you really need to send gold go to a guild bank or ask someone in a guild to help you, thats only a little bit uncomfortable but protects the game a big time.
The option “then they use the TP” is not valid. First they lose Gold. Second: Selling in the TP is anonymous. You cant buy exactly “that” item….so what those lousy Goldsellers do then, when they dont know which of those 1000 offers are yours on that item, AND ANet could change that the TP only shows the ~20 cheapest offers on the TP – then the Sellers have absolutely no chance anymore!
For me, the most important problem on the economy in gw2 is the gold sellers/bot and therefor might be hackers on looting accounts for it.
I wounder why no one came on the idea at arena net to solve this problem by stopping the gold-sending per mail.
This would make it almost impossible for the gold sellers to send their gold to their costumers oder to “loot” an account for gold.
In the next step it would make no more sense to bot and would limit that problem a bit too.
For friends it would be still possible to trade a bit gold over a guild vault/bank. However that could be abused by sellers, but it would be much harder as you need a guild per person you send gold, you need influence and so on. And you could overwatch guilds which just opend and research only the guildbank.
With no other option available to goldsending, it would linder the problem and almost not affect the majority of the players at all.
