I would agree with having the Engineers having heavy armor, I play as a engineer and I don’t like the how it has a lot of traits that suit a tank playing style even thought we can only wear medium armor. And it bothers me a lot that we can’t use hammers or maces even though it should be common sense to implement it into an engineer class, the wrench weapon kit is not a good replacement for this at all and I don’t like using it.
Giving more explanation of the after life and how the Gods play a role in them can actually be a prefect way to connect certain races culture. For example lets say that the Sylvari have souls that go to Melandru’s realm, they have a ton of nature abilities so they should be connected to the deity of nature.
Okay then but did they say if they are working on adding anything to the lore?
And what about not having anything yet makes you think you never will? Perhaps they are keeping that information from us for a good reason? Perhaps they have other things planned?
Buddy Guild Wars as been out since 2005, if you make a sequel to a story then you need to add some more info and background. I will admit we did get new stuff but there is still no mention of what happened to other characters, places, and events. There is no new info of the Human Gods that shows a continuation from the previous game to my knowledge.
Okay because Anet’s focus is all in game play let’s take the initiative as fans and give or own ideas to add to the lore, maybe Anet might use these ideas. I like to first start with the realms of the six gods, there are only The Underworld own by Grenth and The Fissure of Woe own by Balthazar that we know of (someone told me that there is also mention of Eternal Paradise which is own by Dwayna) so lets make up the rest ourselves.
Melandru’s realm The Safari of Savagery, since she is the patron of nature, animals, growth, and the earth it is fitting that her realm is a giant safari of untamed plants and animals growing and running wild. You could even say that animals and all things connected to nature end up there.
Lyssa’s realm The Sahara of Mirari, the word mirari is latin for mirage so you need to really think about is the image right, she is the patron of beauty, illusions, and water so I think that her place should be like a dessert that’s full of mirages and is constantly changing with sandstorms shifting the sands and making the land a chaotic situation and also that the mirages hide the oasis which are beautiful and have tons of water.
Kormir’s realm Incarcerated Nightmares, since she is new it would make sense that the realm she obtain from defeating Abaddon would still serve as a prison for evil but she is not in control of the whole place yet. Being the patronage of truth, order and spirit makes her better suited as a warden for the kitten
Dwayna’s realm Eternal Paradise, someone told me that this is her place so just by the name it makes you think it must be heaven for the good.
There I just made up three places in thirty minutes, and guild wars 2 has been out for almost a year so I am disappointed in Anet. If anyone has any info of the realms or want to give a shot at giving their own version post right away. Let us hope Anet does something with this if they show any interest.
Eternal Paradise sounds appropriate for Dwayna
As a new comer to the guild wars lore I find it very sadden and disappointing that at this point there is not much info of the other realms that the Human Gods domain over. All there is are the Underworld(Kinda ridiculous since it’s in the mist and not under anything to my knowledge) and the Fissure of Woe, and we remain in the dark to the other four realms.
And since Kormir is still the new deity in town, she most have taken over Abaddon’s realm so it be nice to know what changes she made to it. It should not be so difficult for Anet to throw a bone every once in a while, I am sure everyone is hunger for some info and background to the guild war universe.
Okay, now technically the only new profession that the devs gave in guild war 2 are the Guardian, Engineer, and maybe the Thief. I am pretty sure a lot of people here would agree that it’s common sense to work on the new stuff first to get it right.
Hello there everyone, I have only been playing for 3+ months and it’s a very great game.
I like how they designed each profession but as the title indicates I need someone to clarify somethings.
The Engineer is all around a great profession to play, which is pretty much the main reason I bought the game, but it feels like it wasn’t implemented into the game properly.
1. Since the Engineer has lore that starts with the Iron Legion creating the profession why is it that they wear leather armor? One of the devs said that the Engineer is more of a Combat Engineer, so it would make sense for them to wear heavy armor being on the being on the battlefield and since their from Iron Legion (so they should be tough).
2. When I looked at its weapon skills they seem like cool gadget mods that has goes well with the profession. But when I got a look at the Warriors skills it disturbed me how the Warrior has actual rifle skills and the Engineer seems to have shotgun skills with its rifle. The Warriors are front-line combatants so what use would they have with a long range rifle, and they can’t even use pistols so why give them a gun in the first place. Also why not let the Engineers use hammers, would make sense lore wise but I don’t see and one-handed hammers so maybe not.
3. There is also some issue with the armor available to them, I can’t find anything that is related to technological advancement like steam punk style or something. I guess this issue is more severe with the Charrs.
4. And last but not least is that there is little lore with their history, or I just can’t find them, I like to know more how the Engineer stepped out of the metal shops and entered the battlefield with all of its weapons of mass destruction.
So any who would like to leave a post with some answers or questions or just want to rant as well go for it. I really like to know other people opinions.
