Guild Halls and the Disappointment.

Hello,

My guild and I, a relatively small (four players) and casual bunch, who love to roleplay have recently just hit the wall with HoT’s Guild Halls. We all happily pre-ordered HoT’s after hearing about them, the large open spaces, being able to place furniture, decorations, trophies and the like. It just sounded SO great on paper.

But then came the reality. After trying to acquire the actual guild hall (Lost Precipice), and nearly completing it, but failing at the end, we finally had the hall, and we were happy to have it, we’d succeeded! Then, we saw the list of items just to get the tavern. We laughed, this must be something of a ‘hurdle’ to get to the good stuff, we all thought. So we pushed on… still, no scribe, no furniture.

After two months? We’ve finally have our workshop… only to discover, more prerequisites to get decorations. It’s cost us so much time, so much gold, so much pain.

I understand, it’s suppose to be a guild effort, but couldn’t they give us a chair? A table? A vase? Could they not scale some of this for smaller groups?

Our scribe can now make books tonight, but you know what? Those aren’t even decorations, but rather prerequisites FOR decorations, that we can’t get to till we pay more gold, more mats, for another building. You can’t even RP in the buildings, the scribes building has a HUGE boulder in it… why?

It just seems so sad. I sit and look at my wyvern trophy decor, the one decor I got to place because I bought the Deluxe Edition, with a few deluxe vine walls (I don’t know if there is a basic vine wall?) and I have to wonder: Was my guild duped into this marketing? Most likely. My fellow guild mates are looking around this vast canyon complex, and we’re just disheartened.

I hope some one from ArenaNet reads this, because we do love your game, my guild gave up World of Warcraft for it. Though, I feel as though, you’ve lost something with HoT’s. It maybe challenging, hardcore, and E-Sports-centric now, but… is it fun? My guild no longer thinks so…
